I was about to say “Two to one odds. Hardly seems fair” but then I saw the one being dragged away in panel 3.
I’m a little confused on the top story. This episode and the previous would seem to be taking place immediately after Jon woke up from his nightmare and went for a walk in #849. But then the cut to daylight and the Pat/Pam incident. Then back to Aral and Jon’s nighttime stroll in #855. And now this asshole and his buddies show up. Help a sick old man out? Is the “old flame” incident something that happened a while back and Jon was relating it to.Aral as they walked?
As I percieve it, the Pat/Pam incident is a flashback showing what is told to Aral as they walk, posibly as an explanation as to why Jonathan’s nightmares has returned.
Go back to 849, panel 3. Pat was the woman from high school. He was recounting the incident to his buddy.
Don’t feel bad, I had to go back and look that up. I missed the left turn in Albuquerque.
fair.. these type of idiots don’t believe in fair.. and unless you forgot.. Jon an Aral, both are military trained, and one is a GRU instructor at the base,. so five to one would be closer to fair..

And that “my mother” punchline is priceless. One could go an entire lifetime and not have such a perfect setup dropped right in their lap.
Has Jonathan ever thought of branching out and doing standup comedy?
The Catman sent me some things this week. He did it by sending me a 2Tb solid state drive. He tried this before – back at the first of this year but somehow the USPS (something oxymoronic about the phrase United States Postal Service) managed to “lose” the drive. All that got anywhere was a portion of the mailing label – after (correct me if I’m wrong PC) 6 weeks.
Anyhow he tried it again and it actually made the arduous, globe-girdling journey from Georgia to Texas. He had my address PROMINENTLY displayed in multiple places on both the outer and inner boxes. Inside the box the drive itself came in was this handwritten (crayon – or was it magic marker? ) note that PC put in the box and asked me to share with you guys:

It’s not that much more expensive for ground service, you have an ACTUAL tracking number, and things seldom get lost. If they do, you have insurance.
The Empire is not interfering with their trade. That would be piracy, or war. Competing with their trade does not impede their trade. Interfering with their monopoly does not interfere with their trade either. Captain Chardis should point this out. Although, admittedly, the holders of the monopoly often have to be shown the difference by force.
Tsk. I was thinking “brought a nightstick to a gunfight” BEFORE I had the rapidly-changing numerical odds pointed out to me.
