I don’t know. It looks more like an issue with image
compression to me. You can’t save images in a raw
form like bitmap because it makes the files way too
large. So you have to save the image in a compressed
form. That means you lose small amounts of detail in
your image. Turn the compression up too much and
you start getting artifacts like are visible here.
I checked on twenty prior pages, on three different computers. XP, 7, 11, also on Android and Apple phones.
Using Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, on computers, then Browser, Chrome, and Firefox on the phones.
Everywhere I look, the images in the last two pages are obviously not up to the standard of prior pages.
I even inspected the image size, discovering that it was 1805 x 3200 from 1446 and prior pages,
but is now being presented at 1444 x 2560 in the last two pages. When inspecting the image file,
the last two have ‘scaled’ in the end of the file name, implying that it has been altered from the original,
if that information is any help.
I do enjoy using Firefox, since I can inspect any element, like adds, or gmail buttons I don’t like,
and delete the element, while still using the fully functioning site. You can also see a LOT of information,
if you know what you are looking at, telling you how the site was built.
Is that better now? I was uploading the pages at 1805 X 3200 pixels with 32 bit color,
and my ISP was downgrading them to 4-bit color to save space, I guess.
So I changed the image to 1440 X 2553 with 24 bit color, and the results are better,
I think. Still not as good as they were, but better.
If your monitor is less than 1400 pixels wide,
and you want to see the comic full-sized,
right-click on it, “open image in new tab”,
then left click on the new tab to see it at 100%.
For me, the change looks as good as the prior pages.
There could be pages, or parts of them,
that will not be perfect, but it is far nicer looking
that the patchy looking version that had been there.
Guess who is suffering a severe case of what pilots call confirmation bias.
The scout ship went into the system expecting to see a new space faring
empire with extensive low-tech infrastructure so that is what they saw
(aided by the Catians having most of their fleet already hidden in stealth mode).
They didn’t expect any high tech since the empire was so new and didn’t
‘see’ the few contradictions the cats couldn’t hide.
When the fleet finds their internal systems suddenly start going down,
it will probably take them a few critical minutes to realize they have
somehow been boarded without the fact being detected.
Age old story, jump to conclusions, find a deep hole, with spikes
at the bottom! This attack will be fairly easy, it’s the next one
that will tell the tale. A combo of Wilson mines and stealth attacks
from the Daggers and Toby’s will make short work of these fleets.
Heh, I’m glad Marshall did that, and no one (adult) reacted! I
don’t blame him one bit. It’s like when we had taken in a girl
that was homeless for a while, her ex-boyfriend showed up,
bossing her around and threatened her right in front of me.
I asked him calmly why he was at the house and that he had
no business here. “I texted her! She knew I was coming.” “Ok,
but I didn’t, you didn’t ask to come onto my property, much
less take her dog.” He took a step towards me, so I took out
my 9mm, and not aiming it or holding it for firing, Just held it
up so he could see it and calmly told him to “leave NOW, or it
was going to get noisy.” I think he peed himself… 😉 Kids…
Layers under layers. Or maybe wheels within wheels. I suspect
“Loki” knew these guys were coming, and the gift of the new
body armor and the polymer’s other applications we don’t know
about (other than water filteration) was part of his plan, along
with the agreement for the other Elders to butt out.
Oh I’m sure, that stuff will have so many applications,
all of which will needed to be figured out, over time.
They may be more advanced than the core was, but
clearly not smart enough to avoid being cocky. If the
entire GC acts like this, it’ll be the core all over again.
The Empire is like a Cheetah, fast moving and knows
to attack only when needed. Wear down the prey
and THEN strike.
I don’t know, if an animal bites down would it trigger the non-neutonian effect?
A bite can grab and penetrate without being fast or sudden.
“The slow blade penetrates the shield”
Depends on the animal, sharks bite and shake, as do many canines. Hippos crush
not tear. Would protect from snake bites, vipers tend to bite and let go. And the
big cats bite but they slash first.
PC – skin tone issues? Or is it my PC? Most all of the humans look
like they have vitiligo. Last episode as well, especially on Lisa.
Mother and son in 3 Kathy in 4.
Blue hair in 8.
I bought a sweet car on line.
Yep, belonged to Neil Diamond.
Shading is off a bit, as is the sub-surface scattering.
I noticed it too.

I’ve checked, it’s not in the original art.
It must have been caused by the compression
used by the website.
That’s new. I didn’t figure the screwup was on your part.

Thanks PC. I usually do the “right click, open image in new tab”
thing when I want to zoom in. But, yeah. It fixes the color
problems too.
For me, the change looks as good as the prior pages.

Yes, I seen the same effect when you zoom in over 300% on a page.
Like the difference between a .jpeg and a .png.
So…..no friendly visit upcoming.
Looting, conquest, and slavery is their goal.
Awaiting the upcoming fun and activities.

Slavers, GOOD! Then no one will mind if they get a bit gooey.
I just hope the Elves and other slaves on board survive too.

How about bite proof suits? Sharks, lions, bears, large dogs…

Ursa Mk VI
Well, had to bite the bullet and buy a new uninterruptible power supply.
Damn, prices have gone up over the years!
I hear that, 3X what I paid for the crappy one I had, but 3X
battery life.
