Hopefully those two “PHUT! PHUT!” from unbalanced,
falling Mavia DIDN’T go into Matthew’s back!

I think Jason came closest in predicting how Mavia was hurt. Matther was
on the other side of the room to Mavia’s right, and probably behind her as
well, depending on the room size. From the angle it looks to me like those
two rounds hit the bricks on the wall next to her, but closer to the ground
    and forward.

If you want to do business with them again, they have to feel like they got
a good deal even later. Not one of the Rules of Acquisition, but should be.

      When I saw panels 3 & 4 I thought the same thing. Didn’t remember
who but I remembered somebody called it pretty close. Something tells
me Mavia’s worst injury was to her pride. It would also appear that
Cats (unlike terrestrial felines) don’t always land on their feet! I
figure Ivan either caught a brick chip or a ricochet. No way he was
wounded by aimed fire. Those guys would have been shooting totally
blind, coming as they did from bright sunlight to near total darkness.
Even at their tender age it takes a few seconds for the eye to dark
adapt. Guess we’ll find out how badly he was wounded in the next
      installment.

Interesting how it worked out. Sapient dogs interacting with the
Wolf empire. Interesting (if somewhat accidental, IIRC) play on words.

Y’know, I bet Ivan was hurt catching her,
or shielding her from a falling table.

Didn’t notice the glove the first time. Nice replacement
for the other most likely expletive.

Cat tails are very sensitive ask anyone that’s stepped on one at 3am
on the way to the bathroom! It’s been 3 weeks and he still hisses at
me lol. Not to mention my reaction to the scream and the fact I was
    wide awake from then on…
    That’s why it’s called “spray-n-pray” because it’s unlikely you’ll
hit anything it’s just a panic attempt to buy you time to reach
cover which those fools didn’t have a lick of so it was pointless
bravado on that clown’s side. Right up there with “dude, hold my
beer’ or “hey guys check this out”

    Hi all; back again.
Predicted the stone/rock/brick fragment, but so did others. (Jason was the closest)
    Didn’t predict the slip on the grounds that Mavia wouldn’t react that strongly to a minor injury;
but I forgot how sensitive tails are and I have a high pain tolerance so tend to underestimate the reaction of others.
And a slippery table top would have done the rest.

Fair and honest treatment is always the best way to build any relationship if you want it to last indefinately.
