Bobbit, I haven’t heard that in a long time.
If he acts up just Bobbit, hah.
That was quite a trial a long time ago.
Please can we have those ships?

I’ve always felt sorry for the Police officers who were sent to look for it.
“You want us to go where and look for WHAT!??!” “Can you describe it?”
      “Normal or vienna?”

I’ll admit to being blind and slow, but where was Bobbit mentioned?

        Sorry, in the tags.

in the tags,,, as both the line “carve like a pot roast” an
cursor (cuts deep) talked about cutting him…

Ah, thanks. I’ll admit, I don’t usually look at the
tags nor the characters (unless I don’t know who is
who). Too interested to see everyone’s comments.

So there is a story behind the Goth facade.
I’m glad that she has decided to open up
a little bit (so far) for “Zullienne” (spelling).
    Be patient Julian.

      (additional after thought)
      …but don’t be the fawning
      simp, either. There’s no
      quicker way to lose
      respect.

Julian knows what it’s like to be
on the abused end. I doubt he
      would ever become an abuser.
And I think he would most
      forcefully be a protector of
      others, no matter how mouthy
      they may be.

Yeah after my sister’s “incident,” she was very cagey about dating.
All I’ll say is good for her! Just because most people think a
goth-girl is a freak, it’s rare that they are. My wife had to deal
with that too when she was a teen, I never did anything like
that with her, and she couldn’t understand it.

28% is a huge difference, that’s like going from my 3/4 ton 2500
to the Sonic, 12 gpm to 32 O_O.

      gas mileage – now 15mpg on a 20g tank = 300m per tank
      28% improvement – 19.2mpg – 20g = 400m per tank.. o.0

That’s probably a more likely interpretation than the one I had,
a 28% reduction in costs rather than a 28% improvement in
        performance. 100% your way = 30 MPG, 100% my way = 0
gallons per mile. A 28% reduction in costs would be 15/0.72 =
20.8 MPG. Not that different, yet.

I know, I was just making a point.
it’s over 200% increase of mileage.

A sudden thought (yes, it hurt).
    If I’m reading TGW correctly,
    it sounds like it’s paralleling
    many of the same background
    /parallel society concepts as
    “The Probability Broach”
    (L. Neil Smith 1980)
    (graphic novilization
can be found at Big Head
    Press, among others)
    Peace through mutual trade,
    individual liberties, minimum
    government, wars only
    when attacked from outside….

Funny you mention TPB. That particular literary tome was
mentioned favorably once in a firearms forum I was a member
of, so I looked for it. Which led to BHP, which led to other
graphic comics. Which I hadn’t known existed till that point.

I first found TGW through a quote you (Mr. Woodman, esq.)
      linked to this strip: https://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-072/
on another forum I follow. It’s been a number of years now,
so I’m not quite sure now, though I think I mentioned it in a
response somewhere on these pages in a comment.

Oops. I remembered where the reference was made by Mr.
Woodman. It was in a comment in response to another
online comic. Not a chat forum. My bad.

          Sam,
          Ummm……you’re welcome?
          I think?
          I hope I didn’t “poke the bear”
too much to make you upset
          about anything.

Oh, Heavens No! That episode 72
was a major contribution to what I
call my “the way it ought to be” thought
process. Every once in a while I come
across something, stated just so, and
I go “Yeah. That’s foundational.” And
I adopt it and try to incorporate it.

Woke up this morning about 3. Couldn’t get back
to sleep. So, after the earlier reminder as to its
existence, I started reading TPB (the graphic novel
version) for about the fifth time. Got about half way
through before I got sleepy again about 5.

I note these ships are being offered to lease and not for sale on
installments or rent-to-own or anything else. The Empire is trying
to maintain proprietary possession of their technologies, including
the ones they acquired from the Demons and Disruptors by
capturing ships. But this does leave the door open for foreign
operators to reverse-engineer ships they are leasing. We’ll see.

The Captains’ Club (I assume the first word isn’t “Capture”) is at a
planet or star system or way-station or confluence of wormholes
called “Hades”. I assume the Empire has their freight station heavily
guarded by military escort and we will learn more later about exactly
what Hades is, why it’s called that, and how mobile the station is.

Oops. I missed the wall sign in the first strip the location appeared in.

      October 5, 2026, 10:37 | # | Reply

I’m just screwing up all around. Hades is the Demons’ home world,
now becoming Imperial Space. The station doesn’t -have- to be
mobile, at least after delivery and setup. I’m still assuming this
Captain’s Club is in another station in the same system, based on
the clientele and Jenkins’ wording, but I may be wrong there too.

no worries, as long as we know you’re ok.
as messed up as i’ve been, i’m sure i’m
not alone there. The urns finally came, her
family is wanting some of her ashes, I
don’t blame them, but I’m not going cheap.
