I can’t say I blame him, besides, he might find himself with
the makings of a harem heh. Still, that sounds like a great
place for a fresh start.
So they were making a desperate call for backup. Idiots.
It is good that there aren’t any more “War Balls,” not
because they are a problem, but if they are the Disruptors
top-of-the-line war ship and they didn’t survive the first
encounter with the Impnav then that alone makes it
easier to get them to calm down and behave. The bronze
age is near perfect, it’ll keep them busy rebuilding the
basic needs and stop their attacks on Imperial members.

So are that man and woman related (looking at the hair)?
Aaaaand….I’m not too sure I’d trust Etienne’s home
decor judgement, not without looking at some of her prior
work, and reserving final yes/no (P4).
But….she may surprise us all.
Ah. I understand now. It was the bunny weapons officer who was
fretting about “a lot of civilian deaths”, mostly quick and relatively
merciful. It’s the admiral who’s ordering far worse through starvation
and other deprivation. No inconsistency.
Back in 1983 there was a miniseries called “The Day After” that
told the story of rural communities in Kansas near Kansas City
during a nuclear war and the aftermath. As the farm family sat
huddled in their basement listening to the radio the father
solemnly loaded his shotgun. My then father-in-law scoffed and
said “What good does he think that will be against Russian soldiers?”
I said “It’s not for the soldiers.” He stared at me. I said “They live
just outside Kansas City and the supply lines just went down.” He
stared more. I didn’t say anything else, but the show did. Quite well.
Sorry, I started out trying to point out the death toll that would be
the result here of sending infrastructure and the means of production
“back to the Bronze Age” and I realized someone else had already
done it better, and I got sidetracked. I’m going to hope she’s
exaggerating, or barring that, that Disruptor civilians would somehow
be better able to survive without food and medicine being shipped in.
Here, a parent that sees his children starving or sick will do very
nearly anything.
That’s the biggest issue with a global disaster, once people
know that no one is going to show up with food and fuel,
they will go full greed on everything. The fall that PC showed
was a perfect example of that. If you have something
everyone else wants or needs, it’s either kill or be killed. My
son thinks the zombies will show up one day, I’m more worried
about the dumbasses with guns and no prep will show up.
No one could. It was another DOS attack, 24 hrs this time.
I did get the computer working, it was a bad power supply. It would work perfectly
for a while, but every so often it would dip the 12v rail for just a moment. Not enough
to hurt anything, just enough to blue-screen it.
I spent hours checking everything, even had a tester on the PSU. But it wasn’t until I
finally swapped it out that the BS stopped. A (borrowed) recording PSU tester confirmed it.
I’m glad I have a lot of spare parts!
Drive them back to the bronze age? That is one pissed off
kitty cat!
As commented on a previous page, “Temper, temper”.
Not pissed off – determined!

Sorry. No Wednesday update.
Trying to finish a computer for an art student.
It is not cooperating.
No big, I couldn’t get on the site
for the last few days anyway.

No problem. Just glad you’re not sick or hurt.
