What name should the ship have?
Something subtle, but deadly. And funny.
Heh, yep! now that the Mystery Man is exposed and
“well done,” I’d say he’s out of the picture. He’s
definitely out of the gene pool! Sadly, this means
Matthew won’t kill him, at least not yet.
Maybe. We don’t know what happened
next yet. He may have simply disappeared.
Or had an auto “accident” that saw him
removed without putting the trauma of
an arrest on the church or it’s attendees.
Everything points to an android kicking in
it’s heat exchanger just when MM thought
he was getting “serviced.” Unless Teresa or
that rescued healer boy intervenes, he’s
a Ken doll… If he tries anything else now
that Matthew knows, they won’t find a
trace of the body.
You think the burly fellow in the hospital bed is MM? Maybe, I
guess. He’s somebody who calls Matthew by his first name, but
I had the impression this flashback was going to explain the
reference to Father Stone, and that was he. Or am I forgetting
a previous story line with a Father Stone in it? The hair looks
curlier on Burly Flashback Boy to me.
No I agree, it might be someone else, I’m just going by the clues.
About 30 years ago, give or take, a priest was arrested and held without bond.
Once the dungeon was discovered in his home, the media exploded. One of his
victims had hung themselves and a left a note detailing who and why he did it.
The church tried to cover it up “for the sake of the church” and the attorney
general refused. The jokes about the priests diddling their alter boys came from
this case. After the case was settled, the church was investigated and several
more cases came to light. It did a lot of damage to the Catholic church’s
reputation, but it forced them to call the cops if it happens again… but they
might have just been more careful about their relocation activities.
Just to be clear, the problem of celibate Catholic priests not being all that
celibate has a long history, and when the Church was often the most powerful
entity in the town, they were able to cover up a lot. Or ignore it, in the
case of some really horrendous doings. I remember one joke that was
common when I was just a kid involved a priest and a boy buying candy
at the store, and the punch line was, “If you wore your pants backwards,
like your collar, there wouldn’t be so many orphans.”
I remember a case where a nun and a junior priest
suddenly left the church at the same time. Not
long after (but not long enough) they had a baby
and they were excommunicated. I’m talking about
pedo’s that joined the church to gain access to
pre-teen boys. Disgusting…
Father Stone… Wasn’t he the priest that got busted for having
a s@x dungeon for the alter boys? After getting covered
repeatedly by the church? “Counseling and relocation.”
4 TIMES!
NEVER mess with a loving father! I was building a list of
Matthew’s possible revenges, but I never once thought of
“Roasted chestnuts” as one of them, I love it!
Ah Katrina? I get your the “boss” in this, but these people
are keeping you alive and what amounts as happy for you,
you’re coming off a bit harsh there. It’s a no-brainier as to
who is in charge. I hope she lightens up in the future…
In May, I paid $190 for 64GB of DDR5 RAM memory.
Yesterday the price was $640.
Today it’s $839.
Storage drives are doing the same.
Dear God…………..
This will affect the price of everything. Computers, cars, cell phones, washing machines…
And with the high prices, the demand will drop off causing a glut in
the supply side, leading to a drop in prices to get cash flow going
for those holding the overpriced inventory.
In 1994 I bought four 16meg (not gig) RAM chips for $640, to go
in my 486-66 tower. Also upped the clockspeed to 100, but the
reality was it turned it into more of a 486-80. My point being,
yesterday’s price is what I paid for a slower 0.1% of the same
thing. RAM has become so cheap, relatively speaking, even at
that high price. Still, it is a huge jump from what has been
normal.
I don’t think so. The big ones – Samsung, Hynix,, and Micron – have already cut back
on consumer-grade memory chips to make more industrial grade for all of the AI
data centers. I think the only way prices will ever come down is if the AI “revolution”
falls apart. But there are too many people out there who think of “1984” as a blueprint
for it to die off any time soon.
AI, like most fads, will die down pretty soon.
when it stops being the “latest thing” then
the prices will come back down.
Electronics always do.
I waited to buy an Atari console until the price
dropped from $240 to $115, Same with flat
screens. I waited not just because of the price,
but so they could work out the bugs. Getting
the latest thing also means getting their
mistakes. The first run of the Atari consoles
had a flaw, they would cook themselves during
marathon plays. The early flat screens were
only viewable in a 20 degree arc from center.
(the early LED flat screens weren’t back-lit)
I had an acquaintance about 30 years ago who hit a vulture at about 60 mph
in a Peterbilt cabover. The vulture went through his right windshield and into
the sleeper, where it died. You know what vultures eat? Yeah, the company
totaled the truck over that.
I had an uncle (long since gone to his reward) who had a
similar incident. He ran into a low flying buzzard at 65mph.
The bird burst through the windshield and after shaking
off being stunned by the impact was NOT amused! My uncle
said it was quite a time, trying to stop from 60+ mph while
sharing a pickup cab with a VERY pissed off, LARGE bird!
Not only did he have to replace the windshield but he had to
clean up blood , feathers, and a shit ton of buzzard shit!
I saw that video on YouTube, that ranks much higher than
the time a friend asked me if I could fix his leaky radiator…
A large woodpecker had crashed into his car beak first, the
beak acted like a .17 target round, it’s body was cooked
by the heat because he tried getting by with carrying water…
It was gross but the eagle/cat and the vulture was way worse.
I forgot to add the beak went clear through,
the body was lodged in the core wadding. I
had to patch 5 double core runs closed.
Left a hole almost big enough to shove a
soda bottle in. (I miss the old copper rads…)
I once hit a bird beak-first. When I stopped next, the radiator was
squirting a thin stream straight out. Yes, I had to refill the radiator
repeatedly to get back to the terminal.
helicopter bird strike at 200 mph. punched thru center window.
or OTR at sunset 3 birds impacted KW. 1) threw radiator.
2) shredded cab sun visor. 3) took out right windshield,
spidered the left windshield.
Mythbusters did 2 shows on aircraft windshields vs bird, the
first time they used frozen chickens, NOT a good test. Even
I send an e-mail complaining about that. so they redid the test
and had to find an older aircraft to make it work, the newer
ones were redesigned to resist impacts better. Most cases
they made patte with a new one…
my helo strike, was a bullet resistant window,.
at 200 feet an at 200 mph. turned the cabin
into a wind tunnel. all we saw was a football
sized lump pass through,.
The nice thing about the Hospice arrangement is we no longer
have to go to our family doc’s offices, and they are a phone
call away for any ER situation. So no more 4+ hour waits to see
an ER doc, like my temp blindness situation.
Did you ever find the cause of your blindness?
For Migraines try Gatorade. Feel it coming
go into a dark room and sit and drink a bottle.
I don’t think it works for everyone, but a friend tried it
and told her DR. about it. He got them as well.
When they went to the two pill scrip it didn’t work
as effective as the single. I do not know if the Powerade works.
From the way they were talking, it was either a clot
or a blockage. I take Sumatriptan 50mg for the headaches.
I had tried hydration, cold/warm compresses, you name it.
The only thing that helped was a cool washrag on my
left eye and total darkness and silence.
They started after the car accident, stress seems to trigger
them and I have a butt-load of that now. I had a minor cranial
bleed from where my head busted out the driver’s window
during my accident, but they didn’t find that until months
afterwards. It really was a crappy hospital.
Gatorade and the other ‘ades have WAY too much sugar
for a diabetic to use much of. Ice water for me.
My wife and I spent one of our dates at the hospital
because I kept getting dizzy spells and nearly passed
out at the theater. THAT’S how I found out…
Gotta love that gal, we weren’t engaged yet and she’s
sitting in a pretty, form fitting dress reading a book
while I fought to bring her face into focus.
Scars
There’s lots of other drinks out there
with all the electrolytes and none of
the sugar. I buy mine in boxes of
powder packets (similar to the
Crystal Light). Look for Zero, Propel,
and Great Value (Wally World brand).
Be sure to read the list of ingredients.
I’ve tried sugar free stuff in the past, my body
doesn’t like the fake sugar, it gives me headaches
and nausea. And it still effects my glucose levels.
I take supplements and drink water/coffee 🙂
I have cherry-flavored syrup that’s unsweetened
that I add to the water for a change-up. Plus
there’s a fruit-flavored soda water that’s
unsweetened, but that salty taste that soda
water has gets to me after while.
When my wife and I were staying at the homeless
shelter, they made us sit through nutrition classes,
they were actually very helpful. I picked up
a lot of good info on w.t.h. those labels said.
Also how to break down the price vs the
actual value by the oz. You’d be surprised
how badly they trick people… Bulk
“value” is NOT always a good idea. the
over-all price is sometimes higher in bulk,
they just pretend you’re saving money.
gatorade zero, has fake sugars,. which we can’t have.!
i drink Bai Wonder Water… it’s stevia extract…
which is not fake, but not sugar,. and no headaches…
I think NutraSweet was the worst one for that,
not only was I feeling sick and the headaches,
but my vision blurred. It was right after the
diabetes diagnosis and I had started drinking
sugar free Dr. Pepper. By the way, it does NOT
taste the same.
Well he was posting here Monday,
could be he got sick or needed a
break.
I had to walk away from my printers
this summer, I’ve got too much on
my plate to rebuild both of them.
I got the co-vid shot and the flu shot yesterday,
took both in my left arm. This morning my left
arm went on strike, not that I blame it…
I had to, I’m the one that does store runs.
Do y’all remember the smoked sausage?

… Hurricane ,, Hurricane Katrina. …
Heh, she is rockin’ it like one 😛
.. sorry ship name…
In both scenarios, it fits 🙂
Top story. Father Stone, eh?
Nope. Never mind. Not gonna go where I was
going to with my comments.
______________
What to call it? Hmm. How about “Kat’s Paw”?
Father Bartholomew (Bart) Stone
name he took, when became a priest.
not a cat.. how bout “Kat’s Strike.”
as in Matt’s snake reference..
Father Stone… Wasn’t he the priest that got busted for having

Has your life been rough?
At least you’ve never had a bald eagle drop a cat through your windshield while you’re driving:

argh filter! guys?
No Monday episode? You okay, PC?
Well he was posting here Monday,
could be he got sick or needed a
break.
I had to walk away from my printers
this summer, I’ve got too much on
my plate to rebuild both of them.
Ship name; Tempest
Or perhaps Trojan?
That might be a good name for the
P.E.N.I.S. boarding ship…
Naaa…
I got the co-vid shot and the flu shot yesterday,
took both in my left arm. This morning my left
arm went on strike, not that I blame it…
I had to, I’m the one that does store runs.
Excuse me, but it’s Tuesday. Shouldn’t there be a new
episode up? PC? Everything okay there? Mr Stanley?
Is PC okay?
Might be a bit on the nose, but how about EverReady? Is it
the first ship of its class? Penetrator class is even more so.
Like everyone else, are you okay PC?
If we don’t hear from him maybe Bill or Rob could reach him?
I’m worried too.
i don’t have his number anymore… 🙁
I’m starting to get a little worried too. I expected at least
a check-in here in the comments by now.
