      40 small – Daggers.
      120 large – Tobies.

    I do hope Mr. Mayor and Cpt. Bat
    brought clean undies as both will need them
    Undershirt for Cpt and shorts for Mayor.

    Panel 7 – Ten meters? That’s almost kissing range.
    PC (or anybody else) – I don’t recall if we’ve seen
    the Daggers vs the Tobies. My memory says the
    stingships that destroyed that original fighter that
    chased Chirk were renamed Tobies, but my memory
    ain’t what I think I remember it was. Any episodes
    with good sideshots?

      https://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-133/ gives a good view
      about the size of one of the older VW bug. Lower and longer
      but I’m willing to bet they are close to the same weight.

      The toby’s are nearly twice the size of the
      Daggers and since they carry 60 missiles
      in a drum they look like they are pregnant.

        https://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-1144/ is a good
        comparison of a toby with people standing by it for size.

      FOUND IT! Episodes 133 & 136 appear to be the Daggers.
      Episode 1094 gives an excellent sideview of a Toby, by name.

    Jeesh these idiots, there are several people in the crowd that
    have the Emperor’s ear and support and he doesn’t know any
    of them? I thought he was the guy in the meeting when Miral
    and Ahmya had their reconciliation…

    Ah, that explains much, They are taking out what little defenses
    they have on the ships and them either talk them down or
    disable the engines. Then they can have a little “talk” about the
    real situation and what they can look forward to.

      No, these town council clowns are not the same ones
      from the Miral/Ahmya recon. They were arrested when
      IT shot Miral.

      “Emperor’s ear” .. more like royal’s themselves..
      prince Yoshi,. princess Nori,. royal attaché Miral..
      since big sis just became the Empress.!
      which makes Yoshi second inline for the throne…

        I forgot that. Heh, well then this is like a Karen
        trying to get the chief of police’s son arrested
        for being black. And since this is clearly a nobody
        trying to control who does what in “his” town,
        he just got nailed for fraud.

        I’m not sure how Japanese law works, but that’s not how it
        works in England. None of Camilla’s or Catherine’s kin are
        in the line of succession. They would have influence though.

          Japanese law. Emperor – bio, adopt, illegit,. then the next family male.
          until Higashi has a son, Yoshi is it…
          oh an after 1947 law,. No females.! she can enforce his law,
          not change it.!

    So if the Daggers are/were accelerating at 80g and then maneuvering
    to avoid anti-missile counter measures,
    WHY are the pilots not smears stuck to the sides of the cockpit?
    AND if 51 seconds is the point of contact, well…
    the Imperial ships are probably less than 10,000 kilometers away.
    (BTE calculations using the 51 seconds and the 80g put the launch
    point at roughly 19000 kilometers away if the acceleration continued
    for the full 51 seconds.
    If they are managing to get as close as 10 meters without bumping,
    they have to reverse acceleration half way through
    (See “The Expanse” for inter planetary travel.)
    We can invoke inertial dampers and well placed anti grav cushions
    to resolve the 80g issue.
    But the distance? David Webber’s Space Battles (Honor Harringinton
    universe will be a popular read in this audience) involve minutes
    10’s of thousands of Kilometers.
    Sci Fi geek here.
    And Naval ships (and Space Naval ships especially) don’t have a
    whole lot to engage inside a certain perimeter.

      Most space craft have grav drives in the interior set to pull on everything
      in the craft to counter the acceleration effects. Most of them anyway. The
      Daggers and Toby’s must have them or the crews would be a gooy mess
      inside. They pull on you the same direction that the craft is moving so
      you barely feel anything.

        Most SciFi works that employ such things refer to
        them as “inertial compensators”.

      As I seem to remember, the grav drives on the Wolf Empire ships
      act on all objects within the field effect with equal effect.
      In short, the craft are their own gravity well, and everything
      in it is subject to the gravity field generated by the drives.

        There are drives inside the ships to pull on the people during the
        time to counter the inertia, the drives that move the ship pull on
        spacial objects, not the ship. https://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-091/

        And https://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-137/
        the last two links explain how they avoid the
        splatter effect of sudden, rapid acceleration.

      i based the numbers on what was said previously
      IE: launch detected 30,000 away… accelerating
      to 60g… so…
      60g acell = g = m/s^2 = 9.80665m/s
      range 30k / speed 9.8m/s = 3059.14t
      3059.14t / 60 second = 50.98 (51s)
      typical math IF all remains constant.!!!

        So my look up used the following distance formula*
        d = (v*t) +(1/2*a*t**2)
        d is distance
        v is initial velocity (I assumed 0)
        a is acceleration (9.8*80)
        t**2 is time squared (51*51)
        [old school programming notation!]
        That
        d = 1/2* (9.8*80)*(51*51)
        d = 1,019,592 meters
        d = 1019 Kilometers
        Acceleration is a funny thing.
        Keep it up and you end up going really, really fast
        v = a*t
        v = 9.8*51
        v=39,984 m/s
        v=39.984 km/sec (well past escape velocity Earth Normal)

      Yep. That answered my “splatter” question pretty clearly.
      (In my defense, that was a really long time ago.)
