I think I know what’s going on at TWC.
If I’m right, it’s going to get a lot worse before the end of October.
Owning a webcomic rating site AND a webcomic hosting site is pretty damned unethical.
If TGW gets kicked out of the top 100 in just four months (After spending almost four years in the top 10),
I’m just going to remove it from TWC entirely.
It doesn’t have to be unethical. That’s up to the owners. However,
given what we have seen over the last several months though, it would
appear that those comics hosted by TWC are getting an exorbitant
number of “votes” that were never actually cast by real viewers. So,
yeah, TWC has been losing credibility for the last several months already.
This apparent lapse in ethics is merely another bit of evidence.
It is certainly unethical. It’s as if Consumer Reports began manufacturing cars and within
three months their products became the top-rated vehicles on Consumer Reports.
It used to be that TGW would swap places often with other webcomics, now other
webcomics are jumping ahead by 5-700 votes in just a few hours and TGW never
gets near them again.
PC –
All I’m saying is that it doesn’t HAVE TO be unethical, but
that requires maintaining strictly held beliefs by the owners.
From what we have seen, the owners of TWC do not hold to
such “antiquated” beliefs.
So, yeah, these owners are unethical, but they are choosing
to be such.
Yarp. What’s in the top 10 now is a buncha shit that spent years in the sub-100’s. It was bad
enough when they were merely selling votes. Now, they’re approaching credibility levels of kotaku,
IGN, and rotten tomatoes. 404.
HOboy, now Missy is involved? Wow, when this
assclown steps in it, it’s with both bare feet!
She’s been friendly when she can, and hell on
earth when she can’t. How many wanna bet
Duncan is going to BEG to join the Legion?
Mala is very well trained, maybe 100 lbs, and
very good at close combat. Ishmael is at least
6 FT, I’d say 210-220 lbs, and is badly dehydrated
to start with. We don’t know his training level
or skill level, other than it’s close to Mala’s. It’ll
make a good show, but I think she will wear him
down until he passes out or just gives up. Then
the offer and a chance to walk away from the
stupidity and join the winning team.
Look at panel six. They’re close to the same size and weight.
About 5’6″, 100-110 lbs.
1.7 Meters, 50 Kilograms.
TGW-1294, that’s his wife and she’s barely taller than Teresa, wearing 3″ heels.
Ah, perspective I guess, I thought he was taller.
Either way He’s spent how ever long with the
rest of them, No portable water, I doubt much
food, and I doubt he spends as much time
training as Mala has, since she’s been doing
it since she was 6. She will outlast him, at
least a fair margin. Hell, even in my youth,
she’d embarrass the cocky 18 y/o I was!
I was 5’8″, 175 at 18, Ishmael is at least that.
My upper body was heavier than his is now,
which slowed me down quite a bit.
I had guessed as much, although it also
makes me think Ishmael isn’t part of the
extremists, just a soldier that got dragged
in, acting the part to protect his wife.
a ‘did you know’..
in the muslim faith, a “true name” is chosen..
and used only around the faithful…
or in some cases to let the world know you have
chosen alla… IE: Cassius Clay = Muhammad Ali.
Yeah, I can’t even begin to guess which way this is going
to go now. We’ve got the “sergeant” guilty of stolen valor,
but in attempting to expose him, we also now have Cissy
impersonating a naval lieutenant. Yes, she “was” a US Navy
Lieutenant, but she was never an Imperial Navy Lieutenant.
Gonna get real interesting. And, as usual, the cat sayeth
nothing.
Well, even here in the U.S. (aka the land of 10,000 laws) it’s not illegal
to impersonate a service member. The Stolen Valor Acts make it a crime
to fraudulently claim certain military awards. The awards that will get
in trouble for claiming are: CMH, DSC, Navy Cross, Air Force Cross, Silver
Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Combat
Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Action Badge, Combat Medic Badge,
and Combat Action Medal.
Note: The Stolen Valor Act of 2005 was ruled unconstitutional In 2012 on
1st Amendment grounds. A new version was passed in 2013. I could not
find anything about it being challenged.
Sorry, Mr Stanley but it is NOT illegal in the U.S. simply to claim to have
been in service. According to this article: https://www.coalitionbrewing.com/is-it-against-the-law-to-pretend-you-were-in-the-military/
“No, pretending to have served in the military is generally not against the
law in the United States. However, it is inadvisable because it is a form of
identity theft and could be considered fraud. It is also considered
extremely disrespectful by many veterans and people who have lost
loved ones in service.”
“impersonating a US military member is a crime when one acts or
pretends to act as a US military member and wears any type of
‘military uniform, insignia, or identification document’.”
Stupid Muscle Guy is not in uniform so even in the U.S. he has NOT
committed a crime. I very much doubt the Empire has a more
restrictive system than the U.S. Sorry man but those are the facts.
ok,, give me “coalitionbrewing” homesite.! all i get is
beer sites… i want their legal backing to the claim..
i want to know how “impersonating’ which means
pretending to be.” is different,. from them..
the 6 or more sites i go to all say “Illegal”…
It was a joke. True blue Trekkers’ ears will perk up at the term “fundoscopic
examination”. In Trek IV McCoy advises some 20th century doctors that
fundoscopic examination would be inconclusive. Actually all fundoscopic
examination is is a really thorough eye exam. When the study people told
me I had to get the exam that scene popped up in my mind immediately.
Yeah I see the same, but she could have buried the knife
and gutted him, looks like just another painful slash.
By my count that’s 3 small ones on her, 5 on him.
Yeah, it’s not obvious, is it? I should have used a closer view at a different angle.
They’re punching each other with their left hands, Mala is blocking his knife hand with hers.
At this point, neither actually wants to kill each other.
That’s why he’s bending over and she’s falling to her left, they both connected hard.
Yeah from this angle it looked like the tip was running across his stomach.
Don’t worry about it, lord knows how often I miss the obvious, I was tinkering
with (funny enough) Tinker CAD and when I thought I was done and ran a
test print, the entire back wall was missing! by the way, does anyone want
a rat house that can double as a bright yellow wig?
Technically, she’s not in uniform, but I agree, they should have
at least stopped and stood at attention and saluted. However,
it was a tense situation and Duncan is the type to take an
unfair advantage at that moment, like trying to run or punching
someone to get clear. That would be like expecting the men in
a trench to announce the CO during combat. Not a good thing.
Sorry, man, but they’re all in doors and nobody is in uniform. The only
time I ever saluted in doors was when I was reporting to my Commander
and then the salute was accompanied by “Sgt (or Ssgt) Mullins reporting
as ordered, Sir!”. Maybe the other services do it differently.
Mistrial did build the navy from ground up, so I have to wonder
what rules she kept and which she changed. I just know when
ever my father started in with his DI voice, my mother would
interrupt him, heh.
I did get enough to respect the uniform and what it means, anyway 🙂
Well, her idea that all officers would be called “Sir” died quickly when everyone kept calling her “Ma’am”.
She and Teresa both wanted female Marines. Sgt Birov and Walker gave them copies of Tom Kratman’s
“Amazon Legion” and said “Come back after you’ve read it”. (Great book, by the way.)
Then they pointed out that the Imperial Marines were getting more male recruits than they could train,
why complicate things?
And that all support tasks were done by the Imperial Navy, which was (slightly) majority female.
The Imperial Marines have never been “Trial and error” where it wasn’t necessary.
Indoors, when an officer walks in you stand at attention but don’t salute. You salute officers outdoors,
with an exception for when snipers might be watching for you to identify an officer. If you are in a group outdoors

It’s because the water here has WAY too much lime and calcium in it,
you can taste it if you drink straight from the tap. It builds up on the
elements, and chips off. The vinegar helped, it broke down the larger

Question, Catman. So “Saladin” is Mala’s “true name”. IMS, wasn’t

Looks like Ishmael connected with a left hook to Mala’s jaw (Panel 7 ),
but she may have connected her knife to his midsection (panels 7 & 8).
Yeah I see the same, but she could have buried the knife

Looking again from your input, her fist got him right in the Solar Plexus!
Yeah, he’s gonna need a second…
I’m surprised that no one yelled, “ATTENTION!
ADMIRAL ON THE BRIDGE!” when Mistral walked
into the bar.
Technically, she’s not in uniform, but I agree, they should have
at least stopped and stood at attention and saluted. However,
it was a tense situation and Duncan is the type to take an
unfair advantage at that moment, like trying to run or punching

One of my favorite parts of the “Amazon Legion” was when the pig got curb-stomped.
Indoors, when an officer walks in you stand at attention but don’t salute. You salute officers outdoors,

And everyone there is off duty and in civvies versus on duty in doors. No
requirement either to salute or come to attention.

Heh-heh. I can clean them up.
I too have a Dremel and X-acto knives.
