PC, I gotta know. What is that curly doodad on the front of the
chigger’s pants? I noticed it yesterday but forgot to ask.

Jumping excitedly up and down with a hand in the air,
      saying “May I, may I?”

Joke aside, I believe it to be the string he uses to
      not dropping the pants.

He also shows an incredible learning curve –
Teresa’s hand seems to awake some memories about
a short ‘disconnect’ from the real world 🙂 even
if she only hit him once…

Blowing it up, it looks like the drawstring to his pants.
No zipper or buttons, so a cinch waist makes sense.

Hmm. Looks like Teresa was gonna smack him again for
calling her the whore. Can’t say as I’d blame her one bit.

Teresa might weigh 100lbs, but judging by the CRACK her
last slap made, he knows she’s not a shy, helpless female.
I can’t believe he actually called her a whore, to her face,
again! I’m sure her dragon spirit helped her slap.
But as pissed as she gets over bigoted a-holes,
he’s lucky his head wasn’t the next football on the field!
Sounds like it was either a kidnapping attempt, or they
thought they could train her like other women to “behave”
    for them… AS IF!

HEY batter, batter, batter, SWING! AND IT’S A HOME RUN!!!
Heh, I love her comment, very fitting too, Miral is cute,
but damned if I would say that to her! At least not
until she knew me well 🙂

She don’t need no stinking sword!
Remember what happened to ‘Bottle Top’
when Garion got ahold of him?
        Or when Sussana killed Leonas.
The cats are much stronger than we are.

Quite true, but the sword is faster than hand to hand, and Miral
wants a fast end to any fight, she tires too quickly to take on fight
after fight, so a fast, quiet kill is the best option. Plus, since these
guys seem to all be Muslims, beheading is a just action, since they
are fond of it, and if I remember right, beheading prevents them
from entering their version of heaven.

We don’t know for sure the ambushers are connected to the Marine recruit.
PC said that would be revealed in time, and this guy sure talks like he’s
from that neck of the woods, northern Ozarks. Except that he’s a
misogynistic scumbag, like the recruit. That they have in common.

Stage 2 is not exactly what I had in mind,
      but close enough…….

I also notice in P8 that Sgt Birov has his arm
around he boar’s neck, all cozy and friendly.
Which just proves that it takes less to train
      some “recruits” than others.
P5 “or he’s hungry”. That wild boar appetite
isn’t going to get much from the Vienna sausage
      from recruit Sand Chigger.

so.. useless info.. contrary to what ‘hollyweird’ shows us.
the Japanese in WWII proved that the katana was only
good for (at the most,. 9 beheadings.) 5 beheadings..
before it was to dull,, or would break..
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundred_man_killing_contest
this was done with typical issue (beater swords) swords
of the time. on par with the modern $200 ‘good’ sword.
also,, swords were ‘typically’, cleaned and sharpened
    after each use or combat..
so no to the katana as a zombie killing weapon (hero
    beheading 12 in one go..)

    • Scarsdale
      June 27, 2024, 12:54 | # | Reply

Hollyweird portrays sword fights like they were in medieval times,
lots of swords clanging into each other, while the real fights rarely
stuck swords together, it was mainly a single strike at the body
past the opponents defenses. An axe is a far better choice than
a sword against zombies, since they claim destroying the brain is
a quick kill. My son said when I tried to tell him that
      “But, swords are cool!”
They also need cleaned and sharpened often and are hard to carry
in rough terrain… I wish I could have trained him, but sparing was
beyond me. I tried, had to wear a back brace for a week afterwards.

The guys on Shadiversity recently did a test to see if the
classic Hollywierd trope of flipping blood off of a katana
worked. Not only did it not but it actually spread the
blood around worse. Only way to get the blood off a
sword is wipe it off with a cloth.

Slight tangent here (or not so slight). The reason Hiroshima and
Nagasaki were targeted with atom bombs was actually to SAVE
lives. Obviously, not those particular lives, but the estimates were
such that had we conventionally invaded the home islands many
more would have died in the fighting, on both sides. Hence, the
a-bombs were dropped to convince them to surrender NOW.

        • markm
          June 29, 2024, 11:45 | # | Reply

Not just killed in the fighting. The plan was to invade densely
populated islands, which were already on the verge of starvation,
in harvest season and fight through the winter. The B-29’s had
already burned down much of Tokyo and other big cities, now we’d
also be plastering them with artillery. If noncombatants survived
that, they’d be in even more danger when our troops came through.
They knew of Japanese traps and suicide attacks, so they’d be
hyper-vigilant and inclined to shoot at anything that moved first
          and identify targets second.

And that’s just the ones that did not want to shoot women and
children if it could be avoided. There were also a fair percentage
of Americans that wanted to exterminate the “Japanese race”
entirely. For example, Admiral Halsey had two posters in his office.
One said something like, “Kill Japs. Kill Japs. Kill more Japs.”
The other said that the war would be over “when Japanese is only
spoken in Hell.” And Japanese propaganda quoted those and told
their troops and civilians that Halsey was a moderate among
          Americans –
he would skip the torture and rape and go directly to killing.

So Japanese civilians were living on short rations and could expect
them to get much worse when invaded. They thought they would
have two choices: Join the squads learning to arm themselves with
sharpened bamboo sticks as spears and make suicidal attacks on US
troops, or go camping in the mountains over the winter, without
enough food to survive even if the weather didn’t get them. Results
could have ranged between over half the Japanese population dead
by spring, to Halsey getting his wish.

Instead, we demonstrated that now a single bomber could wipe out
one city. Samurai did not surrender until they could fight no more
          – but they could not fight that. And the Japanese survived.

Well, bandits trying a holdup have it coming. No pity here.
    The other one is disgusting.

GRU speznas are special forces. About 25000 russia has.
In a special operation they eliminated the Afghanistan
    president before the invasion.
When they tried the same with the Ukrainian president,
    they failed.

The US has more marines, but only 10000 navy seals.
The deutsche Bundeswehr has 1500 KSK and 93 Kampfschwimmer.
The british army has 500 SAS plus 1000 in reserve.
I met some SAS forces in pension. They did the security for
    our oil production in libya.
One of them organized the whole evacuation operation for
    expats in the country.
He orchestrated 14 planes of different nations to several
    locations.
To our place a german plane came and a british –
with the boss of the british SAS on board.
Meh, 8 months later we were back.

Spetsnaz today is not the same it was in the Soviet times.
Decades of corruption, lack of clear goals.
      The quality deteriorated.
Don’t get me wrong, there was corruption in Soviet Russia,
but there was an ideology people actually believed in.

      • Michael
        June 28, 2024, 14:31 | # | Reply

I dont think many people believed in it.
They got trained a mindset of “you cant do anything anyway”.
Say “yes, hurray” and go on with your daily life.
        And that did not change.
With 1990 the soviet system disappeared but military and secret
services stayed as they were. Economically they got a wild west
first with fast reorganizing as a mafia system with former secret
service and military leaders on top.
FSB agents visit local companies and ask them for “taxes” or else…

In soviet times they had a polit bureau that kind of controlled the
president. That is gone now. They got a stalin like leader now
unhinged from good information and he seems to have a Cesar
complex as so many leaders too long time in place. They start to
believe the country will collapse without them. They search for
getting some pages in their countries history books and leave
some monumental palace or similar. There is a good reason why
democratic countries change their presidents after one or two
terms. In parliamentary systems a simple majority in parliament
is enough to get a new government. Even the old romans got a
guy behind the emperor who told him several times a day
“memento mori” – remember that you are mortal.

I hope, they just do as if. With torturing its similar to
death penalty – red lines change to flying goalposts and
appeals in the case they were wrong and found the criminal
who did it are mostly ineffective.
In Irak those practices made the Irakis think “its the
    same as with Saddam”,
better the monsters from your own land than foreigners.
One of the reasons for the fail.
Besides the point that the invasion was a moronic crime anyway.
No connection to 9/11 and no weapons of mass destruction found.

There is no chance of a false accusation here. They have the transmitter
and his own statements, that makes the accusation a certainty.
This is the same as letting a city of 1,000,000 get nuked because you
wanted to take the moral high ground and refused to torture the men who
knew where the nuke was hidden.
Yeah, you’ve proven that you are morally superior, on a higher plane than
men like me who would easily reach for the cattle prod. Yay for you.
But 100,000 would have died horrible deaths so you could make that claim.

Moral high ground – which is more moral?

Saving lives by getting the necessary information ASAP,
        no matter how?

Or not torturing the info out of the only one who you
know has it, but letting the victims die (or worse)
so you don’t feel bad about yourself for having had
to torture the info out of the scumbag?

      • Michael
        June 28, 2024, 14:48 | # | Reply

I agree in this case. Not always is the situation that clear.

There was a criminal case in germany where a boy got kidnapped
and they got the kidnapper. But he did not want to tell where
the boy was. Some wanted to use torture to get the information.
Some policemen threatened the guy with torture.
The kidnapper told the place but he knew already the boy was dead.
The responsible police president was aware of the legal problem he
caused and made a trial at court about him and two more officers
possible. they got prosecuted and convicted to a fine with 90 days
payment. That means they are convicted felons. They did not ask
for an appeal. A big discussion in germany about that case.

Another case: A farmer was missed. He was a violent, choleric
man and the police thought it was the family that killed him.
The “bad cop” was so good, that he convinced the family that
he will get them all in prison with maximum punishment.
They confessed to have him slain and fed to the pigs.
And went to prison for less than maximum punishment.
Years later a car was found in the near river with the
dead body of the farmer. Obviously a car accident.

man to do the jobs around him and so many of them
are in jail right now. Or turned out to be “horrible”
and “incompetent” men. Who would have thought.

I don’t think Trump is a better solution. I thought
Buttigieg would make the better candidate from the
beginning and thought Biden might be the wrong
      decision. We will see.
