Wow! Not counting the 1000th episode, it’s been over two
years since we last saw Christina, Jochi and Ava. Over a
year and a half for Galten, and almost five years for Kimi.
Doesn’t seem like it when I go read a different random comic
every day or so, then follow the story forward from there.
I do that too, on top of every few months I’ll do a complete re-read,
it helps me keep up on lore, and give me clues to new events that
were hinted at in older story lines
That and it seems these days I have the memory of a gold fish…

Recruiting sounds right. After all, the analysis/research skills
that she has already demonstrated are useful at every level
from local librarian to highest level of government analysist.
(Who if you asked, might describe his job as librarian and
change the subject. )
No I don’t see her getting arrested, even as a joke, she’s thinking
that it might be. When she found stuff that made her panic: “Julia
my girl, you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole” and “I’ve no idea what
the penalties for snooping are” says it all. I agree, this is more
likely a recruitment, not a scolding.

to misquote the late Alec Guinness, I expected that planet to be
a hot-bed of pollution as well, minimal effort, maximum income.
I’m guessing the trip is to drop off a load of mined ore and to collect
their families, that way it won’t be necessary to return. I can’t wait to
see the Gypsy class, it’s about time someone designed a ship with
the bridge in the center of the ship rather than in front. I could see
the bridge being up high and towards the front on ocean ships, but the
camera and video capabilities would mean it could be out of direct fire.
Or in this case, shorter jump-lag. In any kind of combat ship, it makes
more sense to bury it deep in the ship along with the crew quarters and
med-bay to make it much harder to disable a ship by killing the bridge crew.

There’s so many examples of how fragile a top-located bridge is in
combat, both Star Trek and Star Wars showed what can happen, the
Enterprise being destroyed in that alternate timeline in the same-
named series, the super-star destroyer in “The Return of the Jedi”
just to name a couple. Hardened conduits and redundant backups
should handle any battle damage from blinding the bridge quickly.

OT: Waiting on PC for some final guidance before sending him the
complete models for the big freighter. So I tried something I’ve
been wanting to do for a while now. I constructed a basic airfoil
shape. then I “extruded” it into something resembling a wing.
Then I adjusted the geometry to give me something to work with.
Then I literally bent the thing. And it worked! Now I can make
aircraft with integral vertical stabilizers on the wings or

I modified the straight airfoil into a delta and then bent the end up
into a vertical stabilizer. Next I’m going to see how little geometry
I can get away with for the bend. More geometry at the bend means
more work.

half hour or so browsing forward before I get back to work.
