Please Tenshi don’t volunteer… I have to give Red kudos for seeing reason in this I kinda
hoped she would and Janice is still has that look so she might hold her tongue?
Ah the Catians have been busy I take it can’t wait to see the size of their fleet now!
The goblins may have a similar reaction when their “boat” arrives too. And now I have
the old “transformers” theme running through my head…. “…more than meets the eye…”
It seems King Garion’s justice system is a little different than I was expecting
so I wonder if the Legion will get the job and they assign the Zoo Crew (TGW 755)
The horned species arrives at a world they knew recently was held in slavery by
the humans and were told the Catia’s Pride was given to the cats by the dragons.
So they weren’t expecting the presence of the orbital infrastructure of a major
ship building industry (the cats build most of the ships for the Wolf Empire)
They may even recognize the Ulroth’s Dream (if it is there).
They are clearly outgunned and any trade agreement will not go the way they
had planned.
Their best move would be to gather as much info as they can during the
‘negotiations’ and then hightail it back to base as soon as possible with it.
And that is why I added the bit about burning at the stake LOL!
Don’t forget the Terrain’s built a “deathstar” shipyard by the asteroid belt at the beginning
of the space aspect of the comic so if both have been cranking out ships hoo-boy there’s
going to be a “boat-load” so to speak of ships on both ends and all are going to have the
latest tech and crews. So yeah I hope the demons are wearing their brown pants because
it’s going to hit the fan! lol.
Remember, the arrival in the Catia system is at least one week after the last page.
The Catia’s Pride took 6 days from Dogishua to Xanadu. Assuming the other route
takes the same time and they sent the ships the same day.
And yes, they were expecting to see a technological backwater system. I’m guessing
that whatever they are seeing amounts to a hefty defense system. Emphasis on what
they can see.
The Cats build commercial ships, and the Terrans build warships.
Although there is some crossover, there is a small startup on Earth
that is building private ships, and the Cats are building small
military craft such as scouts and such.
I had wondered about that and with everything going on I’m sure
fleets will start to shift around too especially around the dogs
they would be the first target for defying the core.
horned species , lets call em ‘ Babiru ‘..
since there are no actual “horned predator” species..
horns are defense, teeth an claw are predator..
i went with Babirusa pig,, that is the closest i could find..
and if you ever went up against a wild boar,,
you would know Why.!
I was thinking they were based on some species of deer but on
checking the closest I could come up with were the Ibex, a goat.
Yea, wild pigs (esp. the boar); powerful, poor eyesight, and
nasty temperament equals bad news for anything that annoys them.
Remember, all (of the original at least) species started out on Xanadu. Assuming the Horned Ones
were an original species (likely, as they are Core), their creation/formation/evolution/whatever does
not necessarily mean they were an apex predator. We really know nothing about them before the
Diaspora other than the various species did not get along with each other, whether from
overcrowding or competition for dominance or whatever, and that even in this environment humans
were considered exceptionally problematic, maybe because they didn’t get along even with
each other all that well.
No, that was the armed trader (same design as Maran’s hope) in orbit when the cats arrived.
It was loaded with whatever trade good the Dogashuans sold them and sent to Catia, trading as it went.
So there is a good chance it is at Catia when the Ibex/Babiru arrived.
I have to wonder if Red came around a little bit, after having been stuck to those doors for a while.
Sorry to say, most SJW / ‘woke’ / Democrat types these days, might turn their heads at seeing those
videos… but I doubt they’d so much as voice opposition to them. In fact legalizing ALL forms
of sexual activity, appears to be their goal.
Looking forward to seeing the Catian fleet. The Core Worlds may have just discovered
that things are fairly evenly Matched, on both economic and military levels.
I don’t know that I would define this as ‘sexual activity’, whatever body parts were involved.
And I don’t think “SJWs” in general condone or advocate non-consensual sexual activity, or
anyone else sane either. And this was beyond the pale of ‘normal’ coerced or forced sex. If
she objected ‘on moral grounds’ as she said, it would be because she felt willfully taking a
human life is never justified. No, I think she is agreeing that sometimes necessity trumps
morality. Whatever the moral code.
At first glance the Babiru skin and ears look similar to the Goblins. I thought they
might be different varieties of the same species. But the hands and facial features
are different. That jawline, if it is typical for their species, does not bespeak an
ancestry that either fought with their teeth OR chewed tough plants. I wonder
what their diet consists of.
So, the victims’ families will not have a part in the executions. More importantly,
we know Waukanda was being added to the Empire. It appears Texas has been
as well. And this execution is being done at the Imperial level, not the Kingdom
of Jerico level, even though it’s in Garion’s lap.
Also, confirmed. The wormhole connecting Catia to the non-human section of
Known Space opens in the Aquatane system. Do I remember right that Catia
has four known wormholes: Aquatane, Lamia, the Southern Worlds, and the
one opening into what everyone was told was Dragon Space? (I wonder
where the Dragon homeworld really is. New theory — it is beyond an
unknown-to-the-Wolf-Empire wormhole, and the Dragons were using the
Sol system as a buffer between themselves and the other species. So the
known wormhole really DOES lead to “Dragon Space”, just not directly.)
I wonder if the escort destroyer will wait for the trader to finish
negotiations then allow it to exit the system ahead of it with orders
to clear the exit as quickly as possible and then do an active sensor
scan as it makes a run for the exit.
Timed right they just might get away with it.
Of course the core will still underestimate the military strength of the cats.
All the Cat’s ships are small by their standards, so they will expect a match
to about a Frigate or Destroyer But a true match would be at least a heavy
cruiser. Even a Cat fighter would possibly match a core Frigate for armament
And the big guns, the Terran battle fleet, are either on the way to
Dogishua or in the Sol system.
Don’t forget you don’t need many ships to defend a jump point.
A few dozen missile launchers and a nearby ship to target and
launch them will go a long way.
Add that to the Empire’s stealth system and knowledge of the
captured Core World’s ships sensor systems and defending the
system against invaders becomes rather easy.
At the same time their fleet can take the offensive before
the Core Worlds install their own defenses.
True; but that won’t stop the Babiru underestimating the abilities of the ships they can see
and the Cats can’t hide the ship building infrastructure or the ships under construction
and an active scan would show a better indication of what they are up against than passive scans
potentially making the active scan gambit worth while.
OOPS: That was supposed to be under TGW 937 (the next comic) not TGW 936.
If possible please transfer to the correct page

Tenshi can’t volunteer, they’ve already been chosen.
I know but it wouldn’t stop her from trying.
Reality hits home!

i was going for, ‘closest predator’ species,. not who had a similar horn..
as in they had to have some predator drive to become a dominate species..

Damned big “dispatch boat” there.
not dispatch boat,, as this is not Goblins.
these look tobe a actual trade an escort.
from the Babiru (horned ones..)

No, Texas and Waukanda are not part of the Empire.
They just asked to be included in the pool of executioners.
And four monsters. Chira killed one ’cause she was in a hurry.
I’m slow. Five living monsters. Five execution squads. One each.
I wonder if the escort destroyer will wait for the trader to finish
negotiations then allow it to exit the system ahead of it with orders

heh, i could see her becoming a fashionista..

>Sometimes morality has to accommodate reality
While yes, that also can be a start on slippery slopes :{
But this case is clearly about humanoid shaped rabid
animals that need to be put down for the safety of others.
I am tipping the fourth platform is a military base
incorporating research, training, a fighter base, and support facilities.
