I take it Seb’s coworkers are Debbie, Delia, Jim and Pete. I expected
his guests to be members of the Club and to come decked out in
Medieval or Renaissance garb. Looks like Seb is the only one, so far.
I’m sure Teresa’s kit will be coordinated with his.
I forgot what you’ve said about how heavy-traffic wormholes avoid
ships attempting to use both ends at once. I think there are some
clues here, but I think you have to already know the answer to get
them, or at least I do.
In a case like this, there’s a traffic control station on either side of the
wormhole. They communicate by message drone, no ship will go through
until a message drone has been sent and returned. In less-traveled
locations, the drone is sent by a ship to take a good look around first.
Military might translate without warning, depending on the circumstances.
Interstellar war is very difficult. And expensive.
coworkers.. no and yes.. the coworkers at the table are not named.
the named are the ‘more guests’,. Debbie is Pete’s daughter (an
Victors girl friend.) Delia is Carl’s guest (along with Galten)..
as they arrive,,. Jim (blue shirt) and wife (pink shirt,. Carl,
with Galten an Delia,. and still in door way , Pete an Debbie..
I was a fireman for 10 years talk about rough-necks! lol we were
under-equipped and under-manned so we were always at risk you
tend to find fun where you can in that situation 😉
Pranks and practical jokes were the norm in that group. I was at my
desk and got a call, I was thinking a fire so I quickly grab the phone
and discover someone had put black grease on the ear piece! And
there was no one on the other end.
So who are the people with Seb. I just don’t know this stuff
and the story moves at such a measured pace!
His co workers. His retirement party.
And the waitress is a commander in Teresa’s personal guard, Helen.
Sooo, em, what do they do?
Lumber company. Everything from tree to finished lumber in a lumberyard.
I thought it would be something more spacey.
Nah, this isn’t a space opera. It’s more like a bunch of folk tales
connected by a common thread. At least, that’s the way I see it.
Working on discerning the common thread here in my spacey way…lol.

Thank you. Better eyes than I have.
