There are already Trolls on Earth? Isn’t time in a webcomic (or
any comic) supposed to move slower than in the real world?

Do I understand that Xanadu is the original homeworld before
the Diaspora, and not Earth as I have been speculating?

“Occupying” four worlds, not “on” them. Does this imply they
are acting as foreign occupying forces in the name of whoever
their current employers are? If so, could they switch from
oppressors to liberators without ever moving? Tune in next week.

Do you think they’d be popular at a medieval fantasy faire?
The Troll ambassador, his family, and staff. They don’t handle
space travel at all well. They had to be sedated for the entire
trip to Earth. It was an interesting voyage.
Yes, Xanadu is the original home world. The only thing on it
now is the All Worlds council.
As for your last paragraph, the Cat sayeth nothing.

        So what constitutes the Core?

Centuries ago, all species shared a single world, Xanadu, with all
of the fighting that that implies. After space travel was discovered,
and wormholes, they all decided to each claim and terraform their
own planets and separate. The Core worlds are the wealthiest, and
          the Fringe worlds the poorest.

That would be a very interesting back story.
Xanadu, the home world of all the diverse species (of which PC has
been kind enough to show us a few). Did this diversity occur through
natural mutation and Darwinian selection? Or were all the diverse
species created artificially, in a lab, to serve (literally) “The
Masters”? (whoever and wherever “they” are – and I don’t think it’s
the hoomans of the Core Worlds)
Thx for scratching my scifi itch.

Would they be popular at a medieval fantasy faire? I’d have to say ‘Yes, but…’.
I have spent most of my adult life in the SCA, which bills itself as NOT fantasy
oriented and all about education, re-creation as recreation. Within that club,
I’m part of a subgroup that concentrates on the Mongol Empire, with pure
authenticity respected but considered secondary to having fun, and making
fun of the stodgier types. I complimented, I thought, a woman on her beautiful
almond eyes, due to real world Asian heritage, and thereby hurt her. Those
eyes had caused her pain growing up in North America, and she was not as
proud of them as I felt (and feel) she should be. Which is a long way to say
that how popular they would be would affect how comfortable they were
made to feel, and vice versa. And they might resent feeling pushed into the
role of the monster under the bridge. Might not, depending on HOW.

They wouldn’t necessarily be monsters under a bridge. Maybe a
tavern keeper? A bouncer? Heck, I can see one being King. The
only SCA I ever attended was in New Mexico, I think. It’s kind
of fuzzy, but I do remember that one of the members was a bondage
photographer. The things that stick in my mind…
