The way those “attackers” are armed/behaving/dressed…… are we
SURE they’re out for Smith, Jones, and the AIs? Or are they frat
boys on a (stoopid) pledge prank? “Useful idiots”? Diversion for
the real attack (at the back door)? Costman and crew are running
on too much adrenaline and not enough intel. Someone will be killed.
Ah, Woodman, if I’m not mistaken that IS the back door to TANSTAAFL
those guys are “breaking into” (“I’m not sure that was me.”). If it
wasn’t him then the folks inside TANSTAAFL are as ready for the attack as
possible. The attackers look less like mercs than low level crooks
recruited hastily by someone in the organization which constructed the
androids. I suspect that the “plan” was to flood TANSTAAFL with a
group of (not necessarily heavily) armed men and demand the return of the
“property”. Inside are several well trained defenders all of whom are
combat veterans. Further, the defenders have had time to (at least
somewhat) prepare for the attack while the attackers would appear to
operating entirely extemporaneously. Also, IMS, a successful attack
requires a ratio of something like 5 – to – 1 in favor of the attackers.
We know from TGW-889 that the attackers number approximately a dozen. A
quick count on my fingers of defenders yields approximately half that for
a ratio more like 2 – to – 1 which fact actually favors the defenders.
Add in the fact that the attackers are expecting their armed numbers to
produce a “shock-and-awe” effect in the “poor people” inside TANSTAFFL, and
I figure it will be more of an “Oh shit!” moment for the attackers. I’m
not even sure there will even be shots fired or if there are then the only
ones falling will be bad guys. To recap: untrained, inexperienced,
undisciplined, lightly armed attackers going at well trained, well armed
defenders, all of whom are COMBAT VETERANS(!) in numbers FAVORABLE
TO THE DEFENDERS. I don’t expect it to even be close. I figure that when
the dust settles the only body bags will have bad guys in them and I really
do not even necessarily expect shots to be fired. The only confusion will be
on the part of the attackers who will be rushing in expecting unarmed
“normies” and finding a well prepared group of defenders instead.
contrary to popular belief.. i usually only see the comic hours
before release,,,.
that sed, i also thought the AI’s would be in the mix.. which would
have made it a one to one.. but no..
now,. we keep forgetting there are two others in the room,,. which
could change the mix drastically..
there are 18 people in the room,. 7 of which are non-combatants,.
(Dr. smith & Simon, 4 AI’s, an Leslie. and those 7 are in the office)
that was the she i was talking about,,, she is Still on the phone..
and one of the forgotten was Spirit,. now imagine, if you will.?
Spirt broadcasting (projecting) to all the bad guys complete darkness..
or if can only affect one,, the first in sees a wall of fire.. the rest
suddenly plow into him,,, mass confusion,,.

All nice looking bikes. But…..unless my imagination deceives me…..
is that first bike, with the green gas tank, does that have the Norton
logo on it? Be still, my beating heart! In my teens, the Norton
Commando was one of THE bikes to be lusted after.
From what I read these fools think it’s nobody’s in that building or
they think highly of themselves. Either way it’ll end badly and cement
the AI’s position with the empire. The empire is going to gain a new
addition to their ranks and with the long lived AI’s one that can only
improve over time. Their need to follow orders will be a huge help in
the future while their speed and processing can only enhance every
aspect of the new empire!
If what I’m seeing is typical, they’re under armed as well as stupid.

As everyone runs to Danny’s rescue, I’m hearing Garth Brooks,
“Well, I got friends in LOW places…..”
