That or he’s not the richest monarch around. IMS, the dogs’ ships were supplied by the core worlds
so maybe the dogs are really poor and dependent upon handouts from the rich core worlds.
If that’s so then one would not expect them to spring for expensive, custom, site-built facilities
for what is – I suspect – the dogs’ only spaceport.
Of course what likely happened in the real world is that Petercat used a nice little set of modular
SciFi buildings he found out on the web. But both explanations could be true simultaneously. 😉
Still, the country/planet could be poor, but the king live an extravagant lifestyle
beyond his means, beggaring the rest of the people.
Think along the lines of all the cartoons and stories of the medieval Middle East…..
rich king/caliph, everyone else poor (by comparison).
Well, that answers whether Catia’s Pride can make planetfall. She’s smaller
than I was expecting —
I would have estimated twice this length at least from the scene of the
amphibians shuttlecraft — but
I forget how small they are.
PC: frame 7 – the Catians tails. In most ‘tail-bearing individuals’ the tail is an
extension of the spine and in f.ex. humans this ends with the 2 small (rudimental)
tailbones, between the butt-cheeks. In frame 7 Pallas’ tail seems to come out at
an angle to the spine, just above said cheeks.
Capt Chardis’ sits a bit lower, more like what I would expect on a humanoid.
Jan, the problem, I suspect, is in the models PC is using. They are only as
anatomically accurate as the modeler made them. I doubt that most people
realize that we have vestigial tails and thus where a tail would be attached.
BTW, did you know that some people are born with an honest-to-goodness tail?
I don’t mean the malformation of the spinal membrane which can resemble a tail.
No. Some babies are born with actual tails with bones in them and everything.
Those are removed as soon as practical.
To our “dear” “Alias Smith & Jones”, they’re going to be living
in the past…..of The Outer Limits. (not the full intro, edited for brevity)
“…..We will control the vertical. We will control the horizontal……
We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity…..
You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner
mind to the outer limits.”
Is TGW going to end the year at #10 on TWC?
Oooooh… Please vote!
Always do. As often as the software at TWC lets me.
Thanks, Catman
Damn, I miss Ronnie
King Rexx sure went all in with the modular buildings!
I like that. A thrifty king. Sez a lot of good about him, his lifestyle, and his method of ruling.

Seasons greetings to all…
to me they look the same… Pallas shirt makes the tail look higher.
without clothes, the tails are at the same spot…
