Actually, I figure her question would be more like “You’re in way over your heads. How long can you hold your breath?”
Wait….is Cpt Chardis taking the ships to Catia, or Dogishua?
Both.
The way I read it, a skeleton crew of Imperials will take (the formerly) Menga’s
ships to Catia, and he and his crews will be aboard two Imperial ships, probably
in whatever they call internship positions in this navy, learning to operate the
ships of the navy they’ve been dragooned into, and to serve as proof of the
Empire’s positive intentions when they get to Dogishua.
Und I too vould like a glass of visky…….ehhh…..whisky. Spasibo.

I’m not that well “tasted” to prefer Irish vs Scotch. I like Johnny Walker.

Okay. My question from.a.few.days back is answered. Cats DIDN’T name ships for dogs (although how.they knew about Terran dog breeds is beyond me. 😉 ) it was dogs. I get it.
I’m not 100% sure of that, Bill. Naming ships intended for Dogishuan crews
after domesticated nonsapient canines might feel to them worse than it would
to us if Alien Overlords built ships for us to use and named them for other
primates. On the other hand, since this is now the Wolf Empire and since
Canis Domesticus is now Canis Lupis Domesticus, a subspecies of wolf like
grey and red wolves, these may just be Imperial (Merchant) Ships with nothing
implied about their intended crews, just the nation they belong to.
Question for management. Sometimes I wake.up.early (like 0200 or 0300). I recall.some time back somebody mentioning that votes cast early are more helpful for the comic’s standing @ TWC. How early? When is.the optimum time?
I don’t think there is one except on the first of the month at 0300, that’s when everything reverts to zero.
Help TWC get into the top, early.

I’ve noticed the daily vote resets just before 1800 CST (1900 CDT) and I have to
get the vote in before that on a given day or lose it, and I can vote again after that.
I’ve noticed if I do vote at, say, 2100 on the last day of the month, it gets lost in the
monthly reset, so I always wait until the morning of the 1st. (I’ve also noticed that
the ‘once per device’ is internet connection, not computer. So if my phone is moving
from one wi-fi server to another to another, say on a shopping trip…)
Eastern Time Zone, sorry.
Care to translate that to UTC, please?
I know I could calculate it by using the time a new page comes up if I knew when you put it up. It shows up here at 0200Z for info…
Jan, US Eastern zone (standard time as opposed to daylight-saving time) is UTC -5 hours. I know that because when I set up software I see that Central time is UTC -6 hours and Eastern is 1 hour ahead of us. Time zones were originally devised to make run on time and to allow local sunrise to occur at roughly the same time everywhere. That means it’s afternoon for you (where is “here” anyhow?) when it’s morning for us while the folks in Hawaii think it’s early, early in the morning. Of course if I was still living in metropolitan Tokyo I’d swear it was just short of midnight. But I can attest that the sun truly does.rist in local morning in Tokyo. Interesting story. When I got stationed in Japan I had jetlag pretty bad (jumping 15 hours ahead will do that to you). Played hell with my sleeping. Felt utterly out of sorts. I arrived on a Tuesday but I think it was supper time. Anyhow I was out of.sorts for days. Then when I woke up on Saturday morning it actually felt like morning. Coming home was.similar only it was the whole family including a 20 month old. Damn she was fussy for a week then she settled down.
When we drive the 700+ miles to see our son and grandchildren we go into Mountain time just before we get out of Texas. El Paso is an hour behind the state capital in Austin. No time lag for me. Mealtimes are just earlier and on a trip who eats by the clock anyhow?
UTC…UTC… Isn’t that the bar code that a cashier scans when ringing up a purchase?
I know that 2000 here in Savannah, GA is 0200 in Oslo and Stockholm, 0300 in Helsinki, does that help?
But is it tomorrow morning or yesterday morning? I never can keep that straight.
That bit about “prevent your suppliers from having you killed” might clue
those two into far down the command chain they really are. Talk now & walk,
no one else knows. But once in recorded custody, all your conspiracy can
assume is their secrets are about to be secret no longer.
Question for the Catman. Does the empire have something similar to the US federal witness protection. Once they are questioned their lives won’t be worth a wooden nickel.

Once they are relocated to say, Catia, they can learn to educate and assimilate themselves at a galactic level.
As the Dragon Kingdom is actually Kingdom, as opposed to just a Republic, indentured servitude on behalf of the Kingdom, to repay your debts to the Crown, may also be a thing, by Royal Consent.
I’m sure their talents can be made use of, elsewhere in the Galaxy, under appropriate supervision.
