As big and fat as he is, I think that the king is about to get his back broken… But I think it may take both of them, as he really doesn’t seem to be having much trouble getting around…
I would say that the Catians are on a fishing expedition, as to what resources they can get, but that would be a bit too obvious… Truth of the matter is, I suspect that they are trying to establish expanded trade routes.for both themselves and the Wolf Empire…
Chaka might just surprise you. Some extremely large men move very well and are quite light on their feet. Watch a video of Sumo wrestlers and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Chaka very possibly established his power by beating up challengers. All that mass means that he is able.to absorb punishment. You know the old aphorism about “the bigger they are”. Well the second line is ” The bigger they are the harder it is to MAKE them fall.” That being said, I strongly doubt that Chaka, unlike Gorilla, has had any training in fighting; he’s likely a brawler. Gorilla is a big man and obviously powerfully built. I have no doubt he will take Chaka down. I also doubt he will do so easily.
Just checked out the “incentive”. Heh heh As a “cis” male it does nothing for me but I don’t vote for the pix anyhow. LOL Nothing AT ALL suggestive about the placement of that wheelbarrow handle. Nope. Nothing suggestive at all. 😉
Not really trolling for votes, I just want comments from my female readers to liven things up.
I would really like feedback and ideas from a female perspective.
TWC is back in the top 20, thanks to you all. I appreciate it, helps motivate me to write good stories!
Well, I managed to get Monday’s strip up. Now if I can just get two more posted, the problem should be over.
Leaving a comment here is also a pain requiring multiple tries. Sigh.
There’s a truckstop up the road, but I don’t want to put my passwords on public wifi.
I’ve been playing with the idea of a passenger module to hang under a Locust transporter. Looking at it as a regular passenger airline. Building the module now. Got the shell done and put a door in the rear (will add a boarding stair for show. Mostly I am trying to do new things with the 3D modelling software. Not sure about windows, though. I can do them but structural members on the Locust model would interfere with the view. The interior will have airline type seats and even overhead bins. Anyhow I put a quick render up at my DA page if anyone is interested. Iven fiddled with the colors on the Locust changing it from olive drab to something more commercial. Interested in your comments and reactions. https://www.deviantart.com/bmullins3
windows.. instead mount cameras on all 6 sides,. and the passengers can view on seat back monitor in stead of movie.. “all seats are window seat.!”
watch take off an landing from pilot pov, or look straight down… any direction they want…
… yeah , yeah ,.. i know not an actual.!! … but, you can imply ..
and wow.. talk bout turn around at air port.. arrive, tug locks on pod take to “Arrivals” other tug plugs in “departure” pod,, turnaround 10 min.. 15 if they change pilot & copilot.. o.0
no waiting for last flight to unload,, only wait would be, rest to load an wait to attach pod..
I was trying to figure out what’s going on, but I think I get it now. If a bunch of people are going to call their new country “Waukanda” then they probably copied the design of the government from the billion dollar movie… meaning that anyone can challenge the king to unarmed combat and become king by defeating him. (That’s how you get the wisest kings and the best government.) So Gorilla and Venus handed over their weapons because Gorilla plans to beat T’Chaka under the Waukandan rules, fair and square. My guess is he plans to abdicate immediately, making a native Waukandan (perhaps Sheriff Ace?) the new king before he leaves.
That’s my prediction; let’s see whether I was close.
If they did copy the billion-dollar movie then they probably have an all-female honor guard for the King, who all carry short spears. (That’s the best weapon for bodyguards in the modern era.) It would be funny if the head of that organization was named “Dora Mucilage” or something. 😉
HR, are you forgetting that the character of “Black Panther” and the whole “Waukanda” back story were in comic books long before they became part of a movie? The character was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Jack Kirby, first appearing in Fantastic Four #52 (cover-dated July 1966). Frankly I’m more than a tad surprised Stan Lee is getting away with a Black character with “black” in their name. Lee has come out as such a raging far left ideologue that the name of the fictional nation COULD be WOKE-kaunda. I stoped reading comic books in my early teens – too busy devouring REAL books. Before I was out of Jr High I had read everything by Walter Farley, C.S. Forrester, Isaac Azimov, Robert Heinlein and Martin Caiden that I could get my hands on. In high school I once blew through Caiden’s “Marooned” – all 500 pages – in a single 5-hour sitting! Didn’t have time for comic books. I’m guessing the Catman is exposing how he spent his misspent youth. 😉
hehe ,, “didn’t have time for comics.” ,. they are still books.. and i never stopped (just slowed down). i have more books than small libraries,.. over half is comics.. an that number is over 10k.. o.0
Am I forgetting that Black Panther was a comic before it was a movie? No, I am not forgetting that. Sadly, reading isn’t as common as it used to be; therefore, odds are good that most of the “voters” who joined together and created Waukanda had seen or heard of the movie but not read the original comics. If they were readers they would have seen the name of the country in print and they might have spelled it correctly!
As for Stan Lee, he was treated very poorly in his last years, to the point where some people feel he was a victim of “elder abuse”, and some of the woke nonsense attached to his name was attached there by the people around him. It’s hard to say how woke he truly was by the time he passed away. Recently a video was cut together of things Stan Lee said before he died, as part of a campaign to promote the new “Marvels” movie (featuring Captain Mary Sue, I mean Captain Marvel, plus other women with “Marvel” in their name). But, I’ll repeat: Stan Lee is dead and this video was edited together after his death.
I love reading and I devoured science fiction when I was in my teens. I have fond memories of a used book store where I could buy old used paperbacks for literally pocket change… books for something like 25 cents. Of course there’s been a bit of inflation since those days.
“I have fond memories of a used book store where I could buy old used paperbacks for literally pocket change”
Had one of those in my neighborhood as well. Probably the mainstay source of my reading material. $.25 a book is right plus you could trade in 2 for 1. Would probably never come across Doc Smith or the Binders otherwise. I can still remember the smell of used paperbacks. My physical book collection is meager – only around 750 volumes – but between purchases, torrents (back when that was the thing) and freebies I.figure I have around 5,000 or so on the tablet I use for a reader. I keep them on a 128 Gb micro sim card that I can swap into a new tablet if the current one goes tits up. Except for when we lost power for 18 hours during the freeze back in February and my tablet’s battery was running low, I haven’ t read a physical book in the better part of a decade. In fact these days I mostly rely on Kindle Unlimited for my reading material. I mostly use books as mind candy. Just marking time now until I move down the way from my folks at Ft Sam Houston national cemetery. With the crap going on since March of last year, I’m not sure that day can come too soon. Seems.like nearly every day I read Zman, or American Thinker or Flopping Aces (hat tip to Petercat for putting me onto it) I come to the conclusion that maybe my liver ailment going into remission back in ’14 wasn’t all that much of a blessing and that I have well and truly lived too long.
Yay! I was able to post Wednesday’s page!
So if my new internet gets hooked up Thursday as scheduled, that particular problem is over!

curious, did they know that the covfeve was a medicine before they got there?
Nope, they knew very little about the amphibians.
ah,, the ‘other’ incentive..

Actually, I’ve never seen the movie or read the comics.
I’m just using bits and pieces that I’ve found online.
Other than that, the Cat says nothing.
Heh. “The Cat says nothing”. Sage advice. Would that more people followed it.
