Okay. Something decidedly odd. It’s letting me comment without logging in but not giving me a way to log in. Was going to comment on what ugly ass aliens those guys are. Kind of reminds me of the creature from the black lagoon but without Julie Adams in a one piece swimsuit to balance things out.
I decided to try opening comments to everyone. We’ll see how it goes.

Was wondering about that. They remind me of the gillman from “Creature From The Black Lagoon”. Also remind me of Galapagos iguanas. Knew a guy once who had a pet iguana. Called it ” Igua”. He let the damned thing have the run of the house. Strangest thing was he used to prick a finger and let the thing lick his blood as a treat. I’d be afraid the thing would decide to eliminate the middle man and go for my jugular vein in my sleep!
Well, one of my theories is utterly wrong, but it just raises other questions. I was expecting a “Well of Souls” analogy where the other sapients besides humans and dragons were creatures from our mythology: merfolk, yeti, centaurs, satyrs, and so on — and the presence of those in our folklore were explained by half-remembered encounters our ancestors had with them. But no, at least not all — or if this is a creature from folklore more ancient than Innsmouth and the Black Lagoon, I’m not familiar with it. (Interesting, Cthulhu was mentioned in the story we learned a bit about the other races. I thought their number was stated as 8, but I can’t find that now.)
However many there are, are we seeing one or two? They’re amphibians, and amphibians morphology changes with maturity, could be either way. Also, humans created another race, still considered “human” legally by the others but unable to exchange genes with baseline humans, could one of the types we see here have done the same? Kataar said “all” the other races were “created” on the same planet, but could the amphibians have FOUND another race, one not covered by the treaty? This one scene causes me to ask a lot more questions than it answers, and that is what an intro strip should do.

This should be interesting…
Yeah, I’m wondering if the ones who are sending me emails will come here and post in public where others can respond.
Yes, this should be interesting.
BTW – I really like this comic. Thanks!
Distant Dragon cousins?
No relation. These are amphibians.
