to tweak her harder. And their idea, not his.

You can block a caller ID signal, I can’t remember the code now,
but it was something like *8# on the land-lines. Most scam calls
use it, or a spoofa to show a fake number. Blocking a number
doesn’t really work, it’s more like a message telling someone to
stop calling.

Four weeks is plenty of time to turn a business acquaintanceship
into a friendship, especially working together in off hours. I get the
impression the answer button was pressed WITH “Too late!” (in a
mischievous tone) and AFTER “Don’t answer that!”. Which could
mean Julian has talked a bit about his family and why he ditched
them, and Etienne is plotting something, either planned or on the
fly. Hopefully Julian will end up amused and not angry.
