Wrecking Environmental, oops no air maybe?
    Food is good.

I can’t say I blame him, Kat was cute and sweet, even if she was stilyagi.
Mission complete though, and a stern message sent. It’ll take time for
the air to go bad, which is a bad thing, those bodies will start to stink in
a few days. Just another thing for their engineers to bitch about heh.

That’s right young man, not one soul was lost that didn’t need to die, just
kills me the demons “decided” that the Empire was weak and easy pickings,
rather than talking. The howlers made the same mistake, and now that
world’s defense fleet is space junk. I’m seeing a theme with the GC, this
is going to be a common thing with them until they learn the lesson.

We took my father yesterday to a nursing home for a respit break, so
my son and I will be wearing paper suits, masks and long gloves to
protect ourselves during the massive clean-up effort starting here in a
bit. He’ll be back Wednesday hopefully to a nice clean room by then.
I swear guys, you would gag if you seen his bathroom…
Just changing his toilet out cost me a stab in the hand, he had a
bunch of used insulin needles that had spilled, he hasn’t been on
insulin for years! Yeah, it’s that bad. I’m shocked he hasn’t passed
    away from e-coli.

Update, so far we’ve found his “stolen” 4 flashlights, his fall
detection watch, a credit card that expired back in ’22, 2 hair
      trimmers, and another 3 dozen+ used needles…
Plus I found out why the mess by his bed didn’t look as bad,
a MASSIVE mouse nest under his box spring. All tissues.
We had to wear those paper suits like for hazmat situations.
I’m hoping we can get that room cleaned up and a hospital
bed delivered by time he comes home from respit.

Screw it, he’s going to go nuts, but that home-made bed frame is out.
I’ll take the cross-beams out and lay the box spring on them, it won’t
change the height of the bed, and it’ll make it safer to walk around until
      the hospital bed arrives.

Rob gave me a well-deserved kick in the ass.
So, there’s a new vote incentive up on TWC. Hope you like it.
    Thanks, Rob. I needed that.

Things like that need to be done.

I hope that deer-thing wasn’t toxic, or someone wandering pet.
That’s the biggest problem going to new world, you just don’t
know. I mean, if an alien crash-landed here and caught a puffer
fish, without knowing the poison it has, would it effect them? Or
did they commit to the end of their days?

Oh sure, but like eating a carp without getting all the mud-vein out.
My grandfather once told me the best way to eat carp: take a board,
nail it to the board. Place it on the roof for 3-4 weeks. then take the
board down, scrap off whats left of the carp, then eat the board heh.
He was joking clearly, but to a 6 year old, NOT a good idea…

How is everyone holding up? We got a foot of snow, we had to
use the tractor to dig a path to the front porch to haul off the
trash and that damned bed frame and dig out the burn pile so
we could use it. We also found a crap-ton of mildew behind the
bed so I’ve been spraying bleach on it for our safety and we’re
going to get a mold-killing paint and paint over it.
I should have checked his room sooner, it’s horrible, so far we
got 12-30 gallon bags of trash, mostly tissues and TP. My mother
passed going on 10 years ago and we keep finding her clothes
and meds. The clutter and trash is just about gone, sadly including
his mini-fridge, he had unplugged it and left it, everything in it
is rotted. His hospital bed is suppose to be here tomorrow.

We got about 2 inches of heavy rain, followed by freezing rain, followed by sleet,
followed by snow. There’s not a lot of accumulation, but the temperature isn’t
expected to go above freezing until tomorrow. Later in the week we’re supposed
to be on a long flight out of DFW, but that daily flight has been cancelled the last
two nights, so we’re worried about that. My outdoor cats are pretty scarce, and
it’s 23 degrees in my garage/attic were 3 more cats live. I DO have a pressure-
sensitive heating pad in a little enclosure in the garage; one cat loves it, and
one cat uses it occasionally, and one cat, hated by everyone, has to find what
he can. The good news is that running the dryer vents hat air into the garage,
warming it up slightly. The counties pre-treated the roads for ice, but the initial
rain probably washed it off. The good electrical news is that our electricity has
stayed on all the time. We have a very well-run electric cooperative. They
even had to deal with a significant outage early in the storm when a big
accident took out on of their power poles along I-35.

When we go from here to Dallas, we go up US67 from Cleburne to Cedar Hill.
Just north west of Alvarado is a company that builds all kinds of utility poles,
up to an including those massive 700,000 volt monsters. They have a testing
facility right next to 67 that they use to test new designs. They build the
unit to be tested, then attach massive cables and winches and pull down until
they fail. It has a control building that looks like launch control in Houston.
This week they are getting a real-world retest of their designs. Some years
ago we came through Mississippi after an ice storm that brought down a bunch
of towers. Reports were that the ice build-up on those wires were in excess
of 8 inches in diameter. Imagine the weight that puts on a utility tower
every 1/4 mile. That company is Sabre/Brametal. Their website has a
      page about their testing service.

It was too cold here for anything other than big flakes.
it snowed for 28 hours straight. I was starting to feel
like I was back home up north! I don’t miss the
massive snows we got up north, but it just doesn’t
feel like winter without huge drifts.

It reached 33 this morning, supposed to only get down to 42 tomorrow AM.
Then mornings below 32 for the next week.
No snow or ice. I’ve had a lifetime’s fill of the fluffy white shit.
