I’m calling him out for thinking that everyone has the same ideology
as them. Very simple minded and careless way of thinking in a
diplomatic situation. And it’s cost him everything. Lessons are hard

This is a second time a GC race has made the mistake of
thinking the Empire is weak based on their limited scans,
maybe 3rd time is the charm? The GC has screwed themselves
by not continuing research on new tech. any join after it’s
all said and done will have a huge advantage over the rest
due to gaining access to the Imperial tech and fair trade.
If it had been me, I would have punctuated each mistake into each arm and
leg of that “Admiral’s” body for that last comment. As much as we’d all love
to see him leaking on the deck he should live to explain why all the losses
are a result of his own ego and pride. Better yet, remove any chance of him
ever bearing any children of his own, he clearly has no right to it. I hope
Katrina has another mag, by my count she might have one round left.
Interesting biology the Demons have, a stable home life would be needed
for an infant to grow and mature, roughing it is risky. I hope the guys can
get her to a supply fast. Human mother’s milk is only good for 6 hours if
I remember right.
I have a species in my writing who live on a world which has recurring,
short (a decade) but severe dry periods.
During the Wet periods, the bulk of the population switches to female,
to take advantage of the resources available.

It’s a nod to the fact that alien physiologies may be different. Even
on Earth some species can and do “choose” their gender based on
what will give them the best chance to pass genes into the next
generation. I found this interesting and looked forward to seeing
how PC thinks it would play out in a sapient species, not as any
kind of political statement.

Had an “OH SHIT” moment with my father, I had woke him from
a nap for supper, he answered me, so I went to eat. My wife
called out that he never came into the dinning room, so I called
him again, he told me he’d be right there. Another 10 past, still
no show, so I went in his room. He had fallen and was laying on
the floor, unable to get up. I tried to lift him but he complained
it hurt, so I called my son over and with his help we got him up
so he could use the bathroom. He was in there for an hour and
I had checked on him twice before I urged him to come out and
eat. Stubborn man refused to ask for help! I’m going to have to
a nite-lite for his bedroom so I can see in there, he keeps it dark
so I had no idea he had fallen.

With this system, you could have one in his bedroom and 1 in the bathroom.

to his bed.
My brother-in-law got several Blink! cams all over the property
since the new sub was being built and those kids were trying to
set the hay on fire a few years ago. I have to make sure he
doesn’t see me installing cams in his room, or it’ll trigger a panic

They are motion-sensing and night-vision. There’s also a mic and speaker
so I could talk to him without entering his room. I agree, this last situation
could have been bad if I was asleep. He could have laid there for hours,
not minutes. This would enable me to check on him without waking him.
I absolutely WILL NOT have a camera that must connect to the internet to work.
You don’t know which ones have a backdoor that will allow someone to peek in.

Thanks, but I’d rather use those, we’ve had no problems from all 8 of the cams we have,
and they technically not dependent on the internet, but they do use the local wifi. There’s
one aimed at the kitchen table, but I can’t access it. They have it tied to the same app as
the other 7. Plus they are small enough that my father won’t be able to see them unless
he knows where to point a flashlight at it. Each cam is only a 3″ block with a pillar stand
that’s aim-able.
Unless there is a high mortality amongst the ‘admiral’s’ species young, he is just a complete @$$hole.

of uncertainty and error, that would lead to sexual diaspora. Unfortunately, children, prior to puberty, rarely
have a highly developed sense of personal sexuality, which some groups prey upon, causing further
psychological confusion. There are also traumatic events in children’s lives that can and do cause significant
psychological damage that can result in the rejection of their biological sexual identity.
Overall, I try not to judge other’s preferences, unless those people try to force their agenda or lifestyle upon
those who really aren’t interested in that particular point of view.
