Panels 1 & 3 – Not sure what the protocols are for “Combat Escort”
(as in episode 1465, panel 2), but it appears to be along the lines
of “keep me safe, then treat me as a potential threat”, since that
shotgun is definitely pointed in her direction, and her gun is over
on the table, well out of her reach.
The kids aren’t pointing at her, just standing at the ready.
Katrina is the only one in the room and isn’t on the list
of friendlies, so they are protecting her until Matthew says
otherwise. You notice she gave up her gun once under
their protection and in a secure room.
Through a couch? No, if he was pointing it at
her, it’d be at a clear target, like her head.
Katrina is under protective guard, meaning
she’s protected but she’s also under watch.
She knows that, and is careful not to upset
anyone, other than filling them in.
The Joker said that to Michael Keaton in the 1989 Batman
movie. Jack Nicholson was the best Joker of the live action
movies, but Keith Ledger was a close second.
Katrina, Matthew is both surprised and angry, NOT a safe place to be.
So spill it all and fast, those kids are looking for an excuse..
And there you go, once again the friendliness of the Empire with the
careful undertones that could make a brave man shrink if he speaks
out of line. There you go big guy, dance with the pretty lady, show
you can be friendly and open too.
Katrina was under his employ, and left to work for another.
Not uncommon in the private sector, but Matthew was
running an ultra-under cover agency and she took that
knowledge with her. I’d be pissed…
Hard to say. She may have worked for him when he was with the
FBI (see episode 1053) before he started the black op one he was
with when the Fall happened.
No, Esmay picked her name out of Elisabeth Moon’s science fiction.
Esmay Suiza, Once a Hero, etc.
This one is the very human female, Esmerelda.
The last time you saw her, she was cleaning old tires out of a city park.
I think it would be hilarious if Katherine were to spill her guts to Matthew,
only to have Matthew respond, “We know, we’ve been building a file and
case for years.
Thanks for verifying everything for us.”
Sounds about right, leaving her without an escape route.
While I doubt Matthew will abandon her, he’s not going
to trust her either, for all he knows she could be trying
to infiltrate him. She was working for the very people that
were trying to steal the Navy’s primary income. The kill
order for Teresa might not have reached his ears yet.
God-Rod time? Naa, just send in the Marines in battle armor.

You got it I think.
She would know enough to take herself out of a
threatening mode.
The guards are doing as expected.

No, that pump gun is pointed right about where her butt is.

Panel 8, is there music for Dante’s Inferno?
Charlie Daniels, The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
There is one by Beethoven but I can’t remember it.
The Devil Went Down to Georgia would fit, if they both can keep
up the pace to dance to it heh.
I have to wonder if there’s “pale moonlight” available?
PC you said it. I missed the hover dialogue.
I was trying to come up with appropriate music
and failed.
Thank-you.
“Have you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moon light” – Joker
It’s a line from a song but I have no clue from where either.
The Joker said that to Michael Keaton in the 1989 Batman

Mark Hamill did the best cartoon version.

I think Matthew is surprised, but he’s not yet angry, as she
hasn’t had a chance to tell him of the plot that she just
found out about.

It’d be like walking into your apartment to find your
mean ex sitting on your couch saying “Hi, hunny” O_O
Bottom strip: Is that “Esmay” the same AI that formerly
inhabited a fighter craft?
No, Esmay picked her name out of Elisabeth Moon’s science fiction.
Esmay Suiza, Once a Hero, etc.
This one is the very human female, Esmerelda.
The last time you saw her, she was cleaning old tires out of a city park.
It’s been years, comic time-wise, she’s grown a bit into a
lovely lady. And her timing is perfect… If not planned.
Katrina. So not Tripod’s original human, Karen. I wondered.

Which one would you pick?
