You are 100% in the right here. And including the record of the conversation, you have…..
I’m sorry to say, ALMOST all the receipts. May I ask how the original transaction is recorded?
On paper, signed by both of us.
I built it with top-line parts, like Western Digital storage and Corsair memory.
His online “research” priced things like Temu storage and Wish.com memory.
They’re not the same.
And yes, I have his signed approval for the parts list.
This isn’t my first rodeo.
I’ll just be sitting here, waiting to hear from his lawyer.
Or for him to return with cash.
Or for thirty days to pass.
Tick-tock, motherfucker.
It’s all good PC, I had that kind of crap fixing cars, always had those
types piss me off too. Nothing more frustrating than dealing with a
self-proclaimed “expert” in any field, I dealt with that BS working
on people’s cars. “well so-n-so says he could have done it cheaper”
or “you’re trying to over-charge me for work you didn’t do” which
is why when I got the chance for the factory job, I jumped on it,
paid better too. You could easily get $12k for that system, anyone
that’s built a computer knows the value. Hell, If I had that cash, I’d buy it!!
Trust me, I’d love to keep it for myself. But I had to borrow the difference
for the parts, and can’t afford it.
I’d installed the NVMEs from my current computer and made some test renders.
The render that took my current computer 4+ minutes to complete took this
one less than twenty seconds. It’s going to be great for creating videos!
I bet, the 2 wet 5090’s alone have me salivating…
Long before I got this system, I looked at a “super”
computer that was quoted at $12,000, had duel
4-core CPU’s and duel GPU’s and was the size of
a small end-table. I don’t remember the stats now,
but I think my current system would have matched
it.
This isn’t my first time dealing with someone from the
“Professional Class”
who want something special but don’t want to pay for it.
Not everyone, there are good and bad everywhere, it seems.
But from now on, anyone who wants something extreme will
pay 100% before I order the first part.
IF this goes to court,. make sure they are not “professional class cronies”.!
IE: goto same golf club.
and yes you can ask for recusal,. on the grounds of personal bias…
also because of the amount,. if it is ‘goodolboys’ everybody knows everybody.
then request different court.!
As you notice I don’t post much, but really enjoy all the stories you do.
It’s so sad that some people can just think ‘oh it’s cheaper somewhere else’ while they
1. look at different components, 2. they didn’t do it before themselves,
3. don’t account your time in building this,
4. Won’t allow you to price it higher the moment it’s more expensive ……
And so many other factors.
I am a silent reader most of the time (from EU 😉 ) and this is one of my favourite stories.
Looking forward to the new page, and if you need a bit of (extra) rest, take your time.
Your health should always come first!
Thanks again for all of this! Not sure if I can do much on my end,
but if I can do something let me know!
“Entitlement”, we know your name.
Sounds a bit like those bikers who thought
they were going to bowl over Minka.
And will probably get the same experience.
Take a quiet break, go on a ride, have a cold one when
you get back and all will be right with the world.
No, I won’t accept anything but cash from that dishonest son-of-a-bitch.

…. not quite what I intended. Eh.

GOOD.
Even if it were overpriced, he should have done that
price comparison before signing the contract.
no that was the point… get the best.
and only pay for the worst…
And, Ya Know, a good Primal Scream…….
Or just watch Primal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co28PDKv2VY

I’m glad you knew to have it in writing with his signature.
I’m sorry it proved necessary.

You have him over a barrel or is it his turn in the barrel.
See you Wednesday PC thank-you for all your efforts.
We appreciate them.

I find this song therapeutic in such situations.

PC –
It’s been more than 30 days. Did Professor Entitled pay the rest
of what he owed you, or did you end up selling it?
