The two Crucial NVME drives in my computer (RAID 1) are failing and
making everything extremely slow to load. They’re at 32% life remaining.
The Western Digital NVME C: drive has seen more use, and is still at 100%.
The computer I’m building is all Western Digital.
I’ve had experience with both companies customer service, which is why I
will never buy another Crucial product.
Shit. Panel six, reserve is one carrier, FOUR Destroyers,
and twelve Frigates.
A Destroyer squadron is one Destroyer and three Frigates.
Carriers= Forty Daggers and eighty Tobies.
Destroyers: Eight Tobies
Frigates: Six Tobies
A sea port… Clearly they have no idea about the flying transports
that the Empire has at their disposal. Plus I believe it is possible
to build a sea port, a little at a time. That’s the beauty of an island,
there’s usually a beach that’s not safe for a sea-side condo.
Lets see… 80 Daggers, 472 Tobys, 36 Frigates, 2 Carriers,
16 destroyers Vs 147 capital ships… And their shields take
them out of the battle while they are up. Each Toby carries
60 missiles alone… That’s 28,320 missiles! Not counting
what the destroyers and the frigates have on them. I do
believe this will be a short and decisive battle. If the
heavier ships protect the planet and the orbiting assets,
The Daggers and Tobys can make short work of the enemy.
It’ll look like an old bear mistook a hornet’s nest for a
honey bee hive.
This is a common problem with the rich, they only see
a fast pay-out. Not that the very people that serve their
and their “friends” because they are expendable.
If it was me I’d just kitty litter the hell out of them and give them an
opportunity to surrender.
Short of some sort of force shields, I cannot see any defense against the
kitty litter weapons.
I figure that if they destroy several Core ships the fleet will roll over
like a dog wanting its belly rubbed.
Those guys won’t be willing to fight to the last. Once they surrender it
should be child’s play for a platoon of Marines to storm and board and
capture as many ships as they want.
I predict that when Empire (and allied) tech weenies get to examine the FTL
drives in short order they’ll see ways to improve upon the Core drive tech.
Should be interesting.
Oh there is a defense, their shields. But using them prevents
them being able to move or fire. NOT a good tactic, all the
Navy would have to do is lock on target and wait for the shield
to run out of juice. Once it starts to waver, open fire.I’m sure
the FTL drives they have are pretty inefficient and the Empire
could improve it greatly. Even it’s a matter of a capacitor
bank needs to charge for each jump, the excess power the
grav drives create would mean the FTL would be charging the
moment the ship is in normal space. Add a bank of flawed
drives for extra power it could only take a few minutes.
which again, i say a 1g grav mine.! with a shield of it’s own.
right in the middle.
they put shields up, start drifting,, drop shields to move,,,
burn MORE fuel…
only way to stop, L.E.O. the mine.!!!
and that deep in the well, FTL is useless…
And I agree with the idea, I just cringe a bit knowing
that when it happened on accident, it went poof and
took an 80 meter chuck with it. Feels like an implosion
bomb. It’d have to be more like 5 – 10 gravs to have
any noticeable effect, those capital ships’ tonnage
would make it a very slow movement indeed otherwise.
Also if the core ships shields are anything like the
human shields, they won’t last long, maybe 15 – 20
minutes. If they try that tactic, the entire imperial
fleet could en-globe them and wait it out. 10 Toby’s
could target each ship and launch half their mags,
anything surviving that would be damn lucky.
10,000 miles.. they would have to be AT least 10,000
miles away, the I.S.S. is right at the edge,
and has to maneuver 2 or 3 times a month…
under 5.000,. would be just like on the planet.
just think,, you are creating ‘Earth mass gravity” = 1g.
on something the size of a beach ball… o.0
That has the added benefit of plastering the crew to
whatever part of the hull they are standing by. A simple
way to disable the crew without killing them… Well
mostly, anyway. And since most humans/terrains will
pass out at 6 Gs… A fast boarding party can make
short work of any resistance.
Considering what’s at stake I don’t think they can give the Core fleet
time to decide between surrender and even one ship launching it’s
missiles. Sure, the locals are mostly underground, but if the surface
of the planet gets devastated they might have to evacuate everyone.
It will be interesting to see of their battleships still have the weak spot
that one they shut down with one hit had.
Considering the time crunch and that the crew of that battleship is still
imprisoned, my guess is yes.

Same vibe.

My grand mother’s favorite Hickery tree,
she loved to get a fresh switch when it
was butt-bustin’ time LOL.
Or worst yet, send YOU to get it for her..
And if you brought back a twig,
she’d go out and bring in the whole tree.

Oh sure, but he was repeating it,
actually it was a willow tree for her,
Icky fer sure,
it had that sargasso moss on it,
bugs poured out of it.

Smoke & Flame are in the corners. The conference room table is
further out in the room. Flame’s barrel is pointed up over Smoke’s
head.
