I got started too late this morning and the heat just caught up with me.
Nights are my most productive times in the summer.
And yeah, computers put out a lot of heat, and I have some serious horsepower.
also, i live in hell,.! it’s 100f + most of the year..
this is my house temp right now…
file:///D:/Users/Robnot/Desktop/20250730_171844.jpg
108 outside…
Yes! Yes! Save the equipment and your life and your money.
Turn off some of that watt sucking, heat generating, electrical
forest you obviously live in.
We can wait for comics.
Hmpf! And I thought we had it bad here
in SLC constantly in the low-to-mid 90s.
I have a swamp cooler that runs almost
constantly, keeping the house comfy.
(It helps that I have thick pads, and
the largest pump I can find and afford) ,
(plus ceiling fans throughout the house)
Our AC is on the friz, it got up to 85 inside, but it’s better than outside.
92 and the humidity is about 70%, I feel like I’m breathing swamp-water
here. The downside of living in a valley with a creek just down the road.
The valley was the flood plain for the creek, still is, but we all improved
the drainage around all our houses. It rained here last evening, and there
was standing water in the front yard.
You deserve it Miral, although I really don’t see Kombat Kitty
“retiring” to a classroom for long. Although, she has to be
pushing 30, That would have put her close to my age in Cat
years (50-55), Even if Loki did fix their life spans, they have
been like that for hundreds of years, it’ll take a few generations
to mentally adjust.
Declawing is illegal in much of the world, now. I keep our cats’ claws clipped.
When I volunteered at the shelter, I clipped the claws on every cat in the
room. I did it for years, and only got bitten once, by a cat already on
questionable status. We discouraged declawing. I used to ask people who
said they were going to do it if they would cut off their kids’ fingers and the
first joint (which is what declawing is) just to keep them from picking their
nose. That said, it’s not hard to tell we have cats in the house. We have
more trouble with one who thinks chewing anything rubber is fun, including
virtually every electrical cord she can reach. I’m shocked she hasn’t
electrocuted herself yet!
We had a cat who was a chewer. She only chewed an electrical
cord once. But she chewed in to the hot wire. That cured her
RIGHT NOW! And no, it didn’t kill her. Didn’t seem to injure her
at all. Injure, not hurt. I’m sure the zap hurt a lot. I know it
always hurts me when I do a stupid with electricity.
Jasmine was like that, I think she was teething, she stopped after
I started using a spray bottle on her. Cats are tough, it’s why it’s
said they have nine lives. 120 VAC isn’t deadly, unless you have
a weak heart. Or it goes in one hand, across the chest, and out
the other hand. I’ve been hit with 480, 240, 6000 volt igniter,
and a 10,000 volt cow fence. Each time it turned the skin to a
white powder and stung for days. 480 was a bypassed safety
switch, my screw driver glowed red, the ONLY thing that saved
me was I was standing on a box, I fell when my whole world
was jangley and pain. The 240 was my own stupidity, I thought
I could get away with wiring a 3 phase motor on the fly, the
igniter was someone else’s stupidity, I was taping up a leaking
spark wire, a guy came over to help, when I was almost done I
hear him saying “What’s this do?” and I dropped holding my chest.
I did say I worked around some real morons didn’t I? LOL
I tried once, all I succeeded in doing was add a new scar to my hand heh.
And she wrecked the corner of our box spring…
She’s much friendlier than she was at first, but it doesn’t take much to
trigger her flight/fight response.
We talked about that Bill last year when I got her fixed. The clinic
refused because they said it was inhumane, 2 others said the same.
The last gal I spoke with went into detail as to why. “Picture you
have an ingrown toe-nail and the foot doctor removes the toe to
the knuckle, that’s what is done to declaw a cat.” Her words, not mine.
We’ve actually had a pretty mild summer, so far. More rain than usual,
and well into the middle of July before we had our first 100 degree day.
That said, my garage is actually a 35 x 50 oven if the sun is out. And
this IS central Texas.
7 a.m. I have just been outside to take the trash out. It’s positively
pleasant out there. Keep in mind I grew up in Colorado, where a temp
of 55 for a night-time low is about what you can expect on the hottest
day of the year.
Finally hit 100 in Tulsa yesterday. Officially, I’ve seen thermometers
showing over 100 a few times before. Way late for here, but it has
been consistently in the high nineties practically since the flooding
stopped. I told my wife once if I made it through the summer I
would never complain about the winter again, a pledge I renew
every year.
Well, damn. I finished the comic at 0600, when it was (fairly) cool.
Then I started working on tomorrow’s page, and forgot to post the update.
This OldTimer’s disease is a pain…
Come talk to me when you fix supper, serve everyone else,
refill your thermos with water and ice, and forget your plate.
I argued with my stomach for 3 hours until my wife innocently
asked me if I was going to eat…
I wish I was kidding.
umm.. that’s a daily thing… even with someone to remind me.
i’ve gone an passed out, cuz i fur got to feed…
went to heat cold coffee,. looked all over,. for hours. NVM.
switched to tea.. next morning, warming up coffee,. there was
old coffee in the microwave… o.0
It’s probably a bad time to say we are
“unseasonably cool” on the Left Coast.
Have only had to turn on the AC once this year so far.
Now LAST YEAR, …two weeks over 100 in the
SF Bay Area. Crazy weather.
‘
We’ve been running ours nonstop all month, the temp has been between
87-94 for that long, average humidity has been 70+%. It’s hard to breathe.
Funny thing, today it only hit 72, it’s 61 outside now, I had to turn on the furnace…
After re-reading P2, it sounds like she’ll only be teaching after she
does her job as envoy, and being a diplomat is a never-ending
job as a “political” fire-fighter. Always have to hose off someone’s
shit-storm.
Dog-days, I wouldn’t have tried to run any prints in this weather either.
I couldn’t run my system more than a couple of hours at a time until
today. You know it’s bad when you can smell the heat.
I’m still here, it was touch-and-go. I’ve been so sick that I could barely
stand up from my bed to use a bottle. No way I was making it out of my
bedroom.
Doing better now, there should be a strip on Monday.
Well, I made it to my computer room, going back to bed now.
Hang in there, take your time, your human, unlike our
Kombat kitty that can take a round in the belly and act
like nothing happened a few hours later heh.
Sorry about the delay, I’m still here. Not too sure if I’m happy about it, though.
The worst is over, but I’m still not optimal. I’ve been in and out of bed all day.
I managed to finish three panels, but my brain hasn’t been as creative as I need it to be.
I want to move the comic more towards “fun”, but my imagination is not having it.
The Batoss in the bottom right corner is in for a hell of a shock, Wednesday, I promise.
I got started too late this morning and the heat just caught up with me.
Nights are my most productive times in the summer.
And yeah, computers put out a lot of heat, and I have some serious horsepower.
bottom… bottom comic is up…
also, i live in hell,.! it’s 100f + most of the year..
this is my house temp right now…

108 outside…
well grrr… that was supposed to be my
thermostat, at 97f…
Not to worry we are here for you.
It hit very hard here in Ontario as
well we were at 33C which is about 91F.
All told it is TDH Too Damn Hot.
Don’t sweat it PC, we understand (pun intended 😉 )
Yes! Yes! Save the equipment and your life and your money.
Turn off some of that watt sucking, heat generating, electrical

Catman, please check email (when it’s safe to do so) 😉

Maybe a reply to Motha? Hmmm… I know PC, Meow.

GAWDAMITCAT! C’MER! LETS SEE HOW YOU
LIKE SHARP CLAWS IN YOUR TENDERS!!!!
Free cat anyone?
(content censored due to explicit language)
Ah, Scars? Have you considered having that cat de-clawed?
De-clawing and spay/neuter are, to my mind, an absolute
necessity for having a cat.
Declawing is illegal in much of the world, now. I keep our cats’ claws clipped.

OGS (old guy syndrome) is real. But COMMANDER KITTY! was worth
the wait. Thanks, PC.

I’ve come close too, low sugar is actually more
dangerous than high, people have died or gone
into coma’s because of it. Like my mother-in-law.
Of course everyone knows computers
and other electrical devices are called FREDS.
Friggin’ ridiculous electronic devices.
That’s if you are polite.
It’s probably a bad time to say we are
“unseasonably cool” on the Left Coast.
Have only had to turn on the AC once this year so far.
Now LAST YEAR, …two weeks over 100 in the
SF Bay Area. Crazy weather.
‘
That’s the south Left Coast. Up in Oregon we’ve been running
our AC for the past month.
We’ve been running ours nonstop all month, the temp has been between
87-94 for that long, average humidity has been 70+%. It’s hard to breathe.
Funny thing, today it only hit 72, it’s 61 outside now, I had to turn on the furnace…
What gives? I went to TWC to vote for TGW like always
and could not find it in the first 200.
I found it, #141 They don’t update the count in real time.
I only see 2 votes and I just voted.
I’ve been meaning to ask, PC. Does the Vote button that
gives your current position like some comics have cost
extra?
I just voted, once it’s counted we should be #36.
Opps, #46
Miral needs to put out a music
album, “COMMANDER KITTY
AND HER LOST PLANET
AIRMEN”.
Published by “Not an Immortal Vampire records” heh.
After re-reading P2, it sounds like she’ll only be teaching after she
does her job as envoy, and being a diplomat is a never-ending
job as a “political” fire-fighter. Always have to hose off someone’s

No Friday post? Whimper, whine, withdrawals . . .
Dog-days, I wouldn’t have tried to run any prints in this weather either.
I couldn’t run my system more than a couple of hours at a time until

Is it just the heat? Is PC okay?
One can hope…
I’m still here, it was touch-and-go. I’ve been so sick that I could barely

Good to hear you’re still with us. Not good that you’re sick.
Prayers up for you.
prayers.!
Look after yourself first.
We will be here when you are well.
Hang in there, take your time, your human, unlike our
Kombat kitty that can take a round in the belly and act
like nothing happened a few hours later heh.
So glad you are (at least somewhat) okay. When
ever you miss a post my worry bump goes into
overdrive and I worry that we’ve lost you.
I was afraid it was the heat again. Sorry to find out it was way
worse. Glad it’s a little bit better.
Petercat
Prayers !
Modem just went tango uniform… crashed .!!
So I can not update for about a week !
All I can do is comment

okay to ask)?
get well soon.

make it a 2/3 panel memory idea of what could of happened.!
As long as it’s not Co vid, that crap is nasty.
We can wait, your worth the wait!
