that it’s not a hunk of meat-like substance that
looks like a “meat brownie.” Although I did laugh
when I heard one guy complain “UGH this stuff
tastes like toilet paper” the other guy says “Earl,
that IS the toilet paper…”
Naa, just 2, “Ready to” no one knows for sure what they are
ready for though. “Meals” and “Eat” are dicey. Maybe using up
the TP it comes with? I tried one once, it wasn’t bad but no,
I’m NOT going to replace our refrigerator with them. Plus surplus
stores charge as much for them as a fancy restaurant meal!

MerMites were the pre-MRE way to deliver hot/cold food to the troops
on the front line without setting up a full Field Kitchen.
It had an insulated steel outer shell, with three steel inserts to hold the
actual food/drink.
I’m sure they’ve been updated by now to something more poly plastic
as needed for hot/cold drinks.
