To put some context to Putins claims:

I’ve watched other videos of the “What Putin said…” variety.
Best to watch it yourself. (It’s two hours long, but fascinating.)
NBC claims to have the full interview… at 1 hour 20 minutes long.

Oh for… You never, ever plant something that powerful and set a simple
trigger that someone else might accidentally set off. I hope those
programmers got shot before the end came. That password should of
been at least 15 characters long, encrypted, and totally random. Plus
having several sets that are changed on a weekly basis. Think nuke
    launch codes.

Mr. President, you will never see any profit if you stay with the core,
breaking even is your best hope. But the Empire takes little, and gives
much, since the more friendlies and members they have, the less they
have to do to show a profit. It’s called investing, it is very rare a single
stock pays out big, you need a portfolio to earn the big bucks, and that’s
what friends and the members are, a portfolio.

I remember there was a car and it’s name was a very bad swear
word in one language. Didn’t sell in the area the language was
spoken at all. Since then companies have a department checking
      languages for product names.

There was an old issue of the ‘Birds of Prey’ where it was revealed
that Oracle had an area booby trapped and the traps were voice
activated. Each trap reacted to three different code words. Three
words no one would ever use in conjunction.

And if you consider what the Core wasted in potential. They
squeezed the Fringe as well as themselves and now find
themselves in a resource war they can’t win.
And the way they squeezed everyone, focusing on strip mining
habitable planets while ignoring everything else space has to
offer. The Fringe couldn’t even develop their own planets, much
less what their star system had to offer.
Compared to the overall gains even the generous help the Empire
offers will reap huge rewards for everyone in the long run.

I believe it was the Chevy Nova.
No va means “No go” in Spanish,
        if my memory is correct..

Was thinking the same thing myself. I remember
hearing about the Chevy Nova. I never heard
about a car whose name was an actual curse word.

The Honda Element was a visual curse word.

                I had a Pontiac Ventrua,
it was the Pontiac version of the Nova.

                My neighbour had one.
He didn’t have tent with it though.
Then there was the Pacer (fishbowl).

My best friend in college had a 1975 Pacer. It was quite roomy,
and with rack & pinion steering, quite nimble. But yeah, we
nicknamed it the Pregnant Gremlin. (The AMC Gremlin was
a bit slimmer and squarer rendition of the Pacer from a few
years earlier, for those of you below the age of 60.)

My kis sister had both a gremlin and a hornet, Her hubby at the time
couldn’t figure out what parts on each came from what car model. The
grem had a slat-6 mopar with a ford c-4 tranny, the hornet had a GM 6
with a mopar tranny and starter. he always bought the wrong parts…
When I was a teen my parents almost bought a pacer, I thought it
looked pretty cool, but my mother didn’t want to drive a fish bowl!

The Empire operates on the principle of enlightened self interest.
It takes the long view. It is possible to develop a working ethos
solely out of sloth and selfishness – enlightened sloth and
    selfishness.
Criminals tend to be short sighted. They prefer the quick score
rather than taking the long view. In my opinion the Core world’s
worst failing is that they tend to operate on an extremely short
    view.

The core are muggers and smash-n-grab thieves,
plus they think they have the right to do these things.
The Empire has been educating them,
and they just don’t want to listen.
    “Change?!? NO NEVER!”
Famous last words if ever I heard…
Trying to education the core is like trying
to save a drowning man, if you don’t knock
him out first, he’ll drag you down with him.

The Core believes that Might Makes Right.
The Empire believes that Might Creates Responsibility.

Just means they’ll have to knock ’em out first….
        Not sure where to hit a bat for a one-punch K.O. 😉
