Unfortunately, I suspect that the Catman’s choice of wardrobe may be somewhat limited. If you look on the Daz and other sites under clothes for characters you’ll find that the (how do I put this delicately) non-slutty wardrobe choices for female characters is limited. From what I’ve seen there’s either stuff you wouldn’t want your sister out in public wearing or stuff you’d expect to see your Grandma out in and not a whole hellova lot in between. I am in no wise competent to make clothes for characters. I’m doing good to make the shapes I can and making clothes for characters that conform to the character’s body and pose is on another continent from what I know how to do – or even WANT to know how to do. To do that I would have to essentially start from scratch on something like Daz’s Hexaqon or Blender and learn modelling in those programs from the ground up. Now contrary to the old saw, it IS possible to teach an old dog new tricks. BUT! It takes a whole lot more time, energy, effort and (most importantly) PATIENCE to do so. As fond as I am of the Catman that is simply a bridge too far for me.
Bottom line is, for wardrobe for female characters, there is slutty and there is dowdy and not just a whole lot in between. I personally kinda like how the Catman dressed Venus in that scene. He’s showing us her demure side. 😉
as i sed,, the outfit is fine,, i understand she IS trying to look demur,,, but the colors are off,,.
if she went with the green pants beige top, green jacket with complementary trim colors..
Hey, give her a break. She’s gone from pole dancer to psychopathic Legionnaire, now she’s trying to be
a queen according to her limited knowledge of queens.
On top of all that you want fashion sense?
Ditto to Rob. Of course Mark isn’t dressed up either. Casual is okay, but Sarah is really out. A tee and jeans would have been better and her hair down as well. Still and all sir, you do good work. Thank-you.
i understand that they went from military casual to king & queen.. and failed..
but ,, Sarah is trying too hard.!! the outfit and hair is fine,, it’s the bunch of color clash (i count at least five..)
Seeing the dragonflies this morning, I suddenly recall a couple strips from the Sluggy Freelance comic: Torg (primary character) is on an alternate Earth, and meets the alternate Riff (his best bud). Riff had long since developed a device that allows one to step from Earth to Earth to Earth….
As they are speaking, butterflies begin appearing. And then more. And the MORE….. Seems the Riff of this Earth, accidently replaced the entire population of the human race, with butterflies.
So, what’s that to do with dragonflies? Well they Are reproducing, aren’t they? Imagine billions of them…..
One tiny quibble: I have noticed that since the shakeup following Catman’s broadband change we no longer have a period after posting a comment in which to edit the comment. I almost never get anything completely right on the first pass so having an edit capability – even one with a limited time frame – is a godsend for me. Any chance of restoring/re-enabling that functionality?
OT: Question about DA
I noticed you have posted some text items at DA. How do I do that? Is there a preferred format? (flat text, rich text, MSWord Doc/Docx, something else)

Groan! Just got the engineer’s name. Droll, Catman, very droll. As an old friend of mine (50+ years) would say, “That joke was sheepish. It was baaad!”

Ok, Bill. I must be neutron star dense, I’m not seeing it. And I LOOOOVE a good (bad) pun as well as the next joker.
Nope. No previews for me. If I want to see the next installment I have to browse here like everyone else. In fact if I want to see them befor Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday morning I have to browse in after 1900 Monday, Wednesday and Friday but before 2000 (we’re old and the wife gets up at 0430 to drive a school bus) which is bedtime most days. Besides, with Petercat’s recent internet problems he didn’t have time to send me any previews. I’m still waiting to see how he likes the models I sent him last week. Hopefully he did.
Rob, some of what PC has written in emails makes it seem like he is working from some sort of body of accepted “fact/knowledge” regarding SciFi wormhole transit travel. I’m not familiar with any such genre standard. He has referred to maximum 2D cross section for wormhole travel. Would you be sanguine about where he is getting his data? It would help me to have a common frame of reference for future projects.
BW, you’re not neutronium dense (might give tungsten or gold a run for their money, though 😉 ) so I’ll try and break it down for you. The engineer is a cat, right? AND he is a starship’s engineer. Now when I think of a starship engineer one name comes to mind; the redoubtable Montgomery Scott as played so very well by James Doohan (whom I met at a con in 92 and whose autograph is on a T-shirt I’ve only worn once. So putting it all together Cat + engineer Scott (Scottie?) — Cat-scottie . . . Caskoti??? Yes? No? Maybe so??? 😉
not a fan,, no sir.. do Not like Sarah’s new out fit…..
it looks like some old secretary’s out fit…

And I like the hairband. Looks like a (discreet) tiara.

One of Kathy’s students? She sure drove off those two attackers quickly enough.

Sorry, Bill, but that was available with a plugin that I had to remove
because it was making comments invisible a little while ago.

I think,, Bill was referring to a new character that is not public visible ,, yet..
Couldn’t be cause I don’t get to see anything till it appears right here. {sniff}
i thought PC sent you a preview,, guess i was wrong..

Extra points to anyone who caught the oblique reference to a long running SciFi book series in the last couple of sentences in my post above.
wow missed that..
