Poor Seb just when you think your retired and can relax something
always pops up to drag you back in lol. Same thing happened to me
I was retired and living day to day and my sister begs me to help
her tend her livestock, ah well. That’s ok I think if I had to
watch one more re-re-re-re-re-re-rerun of Bob Barker I would of
stripped naked, smeared raspberry jam all over and ran through
the streets singing “I’m a little tea cup”! LMBO!
My wife discovered the game show network, I discovered YouTube and a
big pair of sound-deadening headphones LOL. Could of been worse I
guess I could of discovered 3-D printing back then our little place
would of looked like a cheesy thrift shop with tons of wall hangings
and statutes instead of the “useful” items I’ve printed lol.

I guess that’s one of the reasons why I haven’t fully retired yet.
After the first one-or two-or three months, what would I do? I guess
I could read all my unread books, but even that would get old after
a year. And where would I get any “tassengeld” (pocket money) to
keep up my house repairs and hobby projects? And I’ve seen it too
often with other military retirees, they retire and get to sittin’
and rockin’ in the chair, six months later they’re dead. I always
called it “too rapid decompression”. To go from utter chaos to
total peace and boredom…….. So don’t feel too sorry for Gunny,
he’s keeping busy enough to stay alive for a good long time. And he
knows how to delegate, prioritize, and follow-up. And Scarsdale,
break the f++kin’ TV babblebox. Ninety plus percent useless. Wasn’t
there a song out recently, early this year I think, about
“turn off the tv, go outside and plant a garden….”
Trust me I didn’t want to I continued to work (at a reduced level) for years after my back injury
But between my diabetes, the first time with cancer, and rapidly advancing arthritis I was forced
to retired on disability. I was able to get around with a cane and when my wife developed stage
four COPD and became disabled we struggled very hard had to sell the car etc… fortunately we
lived in a large town that had a good bus system so it wasn’t too bad.
As far as the “idiot box” goes I hardly watch it if I want to watch something I’ll stream it.
I usually watch chuckle video’s on YouTube. I spend more time learning CAD programs
and designing models based on that. I’m hoping to setup a “print farm” and sell items
my eldest son has a CNC machine and a laser engraver so we’re talking about it.
Next time go a little easier on the volume control, PC.

from the (nice!) lady on the opposite side of the street –
“I didn’t know you liked (>’s <) music."
Speaking of scary… Joe was waiting on the navy to build him a combat suit if I remember right.
I think that massive of a man in a robot-looking suit stomping at me would cause me to switch
to the “brown pants” real quick LOL. Hopefully he’ll won’t have to be in that position while in
service too often.
Joe was being fitted for an engineering suit so that he could work at the space stations.
He is back on Earth now, having started his own engineering firm.
He did keep the suit, though.

What ever happened to the Edit-function? Apparently the
comment parser is not fond of parts of sentences
enclosed in angular parentheses… (> and <)
Those symbols are used in many programing (hackers too)
functions parsers tend to filter them out for that reason
