Lots of them out there. Plenty of.Stinson’s still flying. Lots of Pitts Specials (aerobats) flying plus there are several biplane ultralight and light sport designs. For certain applications biplanes are superior.

As I seem to remember, biplanes are typically superior STOL aircraft, but tend to suffer from low airspeed.

Not so much slow airspeed but high parasitic drag. High drag reduces top speed for the same power. Early biplanes had a crap ton of struts and wires to brace the wings so lots of drag. But they were more nimble than monoplanes. The Germans fielded monoplane fighters in the 1st world war but they also fielded triplanes. Something I never knew until I got into flight simming was just how tight the performance envelope of WW-I aircraft operated in. There was only a very few mph difference between the stall speed (when the thing would fall out of the sky) and the speed where the wings would rip off. It took huevos of solid brass the size of watermelons to go up in those things.

There’s the explanation I was looking for. Thx. Makes a lot of sense, politician (I know, bad word, wash my mouth with Felspar) (river) vs soldier (knife).
I ID more as a knife then a river. That is, if I don’t totally ignore you.

From the very beginning, I wrote Teresa as someone who would bring people together:

She’s not really much of a politician, though. Just a leader.

She’s the leader that I would follow thru Hell itself.

I’m pretty much the same way. I tend to go THROUGH an obstacle rather than over or around it. But Theresa is a leader and a uniter. She’s also very level headed. That’s why King chose her as his successor. King is one of my favorite characters. We don’t get to see NEAR enough of him. (hint, hint) 😉

    LOVE that cross training.
One side gets motivated to improve their aim and accuracy, plus dinner at the “O” Club.
The other side gets motivated to improve their flying, plus building rapport with the people they support.

Nominated for the Medal of Honor in 2010. As far as I know, he’s never received it.
