I’ve never had the pleasure myself, but .22 LR is way cheap
and at 100 rounds in 7-8 seconds, that would make it cost
effective. I love the buzz sound it makes!
I shot a .22 steel spinner target at 50 yards, with my Savage 91 chambered in .17HMR.
I figured 50 yards would be far enough away, to be safe for the half in thick steel.
Twelve shots, I could see shine on every shot, but figured it was just paint blasting off.
When I double checked the target,
I found that the rounds were blowing almost 90% of the way through the steel plate.
I could fit my finger in the hole that was left, as in they were big enough to put a AA
battery in,
with a sizable bulge on the back, where the remaining metal had stretched out.
Where at 20 yards,
the .22 long rifle barely scuffed the paint on the target, not even denting the metal.
I would be willing to pay the difference in ammo, if I had that gun chambered for the
.seventeen.
It would be the equivalent of a mini gun, without all the weight.
Especially if you had a few dozen spare clips that you could load up.
I like it, but the other one had a much higher fire rate.
I’d be in the pasture yelling “Come at me, You
dime-store doggies!” Heh. It gives a new meaning
to “spray-n-pray” don’t ya think?

had to change a few things to make it legal..
if you really want, go with a Calico M-100 .22
or Calico M-950 9mm,. if you can find em.
