“Pentia” is the leader of five others, or a “Penta”
I suppose it could be a “Sexta”, since with the leader there would be six members.
Pentia Karen’s Penta is Eric, Evan, Ellen, Elise and Mala.
Awww. What a cute little playhouse.
Even looks to be needing some repair.
But, I’m also willing to bet that the
looks are deceiving.
Let’s see what surprises are behind
those unassuming walls, shall we?
Hmmm… It’s at least 3 stories high, and they tend to be deeper
than wide, since most I’ve seen were in town with limited street
to face. It might even be built into the hill-side.
True, we turned a 18th century house into a comfortable home,
why not? I noticed in P7 there’s a hole in the roof,
but you can’t see inside, a clue?
I doubt that house is as decrepit as it looks.
The downstairs windows look blacked out, not missing.

I would suspect, as they use that building as their own “Kobyashi Maru” that it
has been rebuilt with much tougher walls, windows, etc. So, attacking her there,
with anything short of a tactical nuke or a Rod From God, is likely to go with little
notice… Other than ticking off the troops, and THAT would be a very bad idea…
True, they do look like each other, and they both get along with the
cats very well. I’m glad she did that for the Cat House, I’m sure it went
a long way in how the battle went. They might have had a chance to
do more damage, if the terrorists bothered to do more research, rather
than making dumb assumptions and thinking numbers would win the
day. I’m glad they didn’t, I’d hate to see any innocent harmed.
I always loved that style of house, there was several in the towns where
I grew up, I often wondered what it would have been like. Judging by the
comment Sgt Birov made, the command center is heavily shielded, with
only firing slots and the monitors to see out of. I’m sure the Penta are
making a mess of the attackers as well. Those terrorists made a HUGE
mistake!
There are a few Victorian-style homes around town here. I’ve been
in one of them, part of which was turned into several rented rooms,
while the rest was setup as a museum. Little, tiny rooms! With high
ceilings and probably no insulation, so, difficult to keep heated.
The house my folks has when I was a boy was late 1800’s and
was both a shipping managers home and office. Long-gone
railroad tracks ran past the house. Same thing about it, no
insulation, wiring dating back to the ’40s, rough-cut redwood
studs in the wall, 2X12 “under-siding” and anytime the studs
didn’t meet, they ignored it because of the planks.
The upstairs didn’t have access from inside since it was a duplex,
my father added a circular stair case so we didn’t have to go
outside to get downstairs. One of my scariest memories of the
place when the one of old pull-out fuse holder exploded out of the
panel, we had to replace it with a breaker box and replace all the
trunk lines. The wire insulation was so old it’d just flake off in
our fingers. The town has several very old houses, I found pictures
that dated back to 1910 of the town and the house in the local
museum. The garage was actually the local ice house, it was the
only one I ever seen that had “tar paper” and panels covering
the inside walls. It was also the first garage I ever seen that
had an “upstairs”, someone must of added it.
Obviously, these aren’t the most intelligent terrorists.
Tactical intelligence about your opponent’s capability
are crucial to any successful covert operations.
As they apparently had no such intelligence,
(in both meanings) their attacks were bound to fail.
Besides; most people who have felt with cats, and Cats,
KNOW better than to attack them on their home ground…
Now that the worms are well and truly out of the can,
I admit I have been wondering how various religions,
especially their more fundamentalist varieties,
would react to multiple extra-Terran sapient species
all being encountered at the same time and most of
them speaking a language we know as English.
My bet is South and East Asian groups, like Taoists,
Jainists and Buddhists would have an easier time of it.
In high school, the first two.
Couldn’t find the third until years later.
In a ways I prefer ‘hnau’ to ‘sapient’ or ‘sentient’.
But nobody would understand.

Panels 5 & 6….those troops walking along the road,
look like they’re just la-dee-dah-dee along.
Considering the circumstances (not just the emergency,
but also they’re in training), I would expect them to be
carrying their weapons in the “ready low” position,
weapons facing out and away from the road
(and their fellow troops on the other side of the road)
Fair question, PETDRSAHNBWDVESS (I ain’t typing all that again).
They have at least three locusts above them with infrared cameras.
Sergeant Birov, Pentia Karen and Evan (or Eric, I forget which is
which without a bunch of research) are all at ease. And they’re
walking, not running, to get to The Fortress. This way they can walk
on both sides of the road. In a “ready low” position, barrels pointing
out, only lefties would be walking on the right side of the road, leaving
it more exposed, due to the relative infrequency of left-handedness in
the general population.
I think this is a tactic, act normal like you don’t know what is going on,
be as causal as you can while watching for any signs, then hunker down
loaded to bear, ready to ruin some cocky a-holes day. Too often back in
the day, I’d hear a foot shuffle or a shadow suddenly disappear, I’d stop,
cross the road, and look in there to see if there was an a-hole in the
alley. Most times I’d see them, or their backs when they ran.
I just had a thought while re-reading the extra episode Stilyagi: Beginnings.
It’s been a number of years since Tripod got fixed up. Are Karen from that
episode and Pentia Karen the same person?
It may be, but their recon sucked. They had NO CLUE what
they were actually walking into.
Let’s just say, they should have paid attention to Admiral
Yamamoto from the beginning of World War II, when he
was discussing how the US would react to the Pearl Harbor
attack on December 7th, 1941…
You know, I try very hard to not see conspiracies in everything,
but the total idiocy of these events has me wondering, I have
a hard time believing the SS was this dumb or lazy on the job.
He’s a geek/nerd anti-social. The guy that gets bullied through out
school. Maybe he thought doing this would make him a hero. Girls
would stick to him with their vaga’s, all guys would respect him. Never
mind what everyone knows about what happens to shooters. I was
one too, until I put on 50 lbs of muscle and learned how to kick ass.
Damn. Thunderstorms are bad! Working on today’s page,
if I don’t update on time,
it’s because power went out. Again.
Or because some idiot took out a pole. Again.
I like the deep South, but people here seem to think
that 4WD means they can drive like idiots in all weather.
Okay, today’s page is up.
We did lose power,
but only long enough for me to hook up the generator
before it was restored.
Figures.
Having a generator seems like a charm to avoid long
power outages.
Ah, yes, 4X4s. Once saw a Blazer (or Bronco, don’t remember which),
bombing along on a couple inches of ice covered by a bit of snow,
at normal freeway speed, because 4X4. Frikken morons.
Slight quibble. Teresa asks about her other three “pentas”.
Shouldn’t that be “pentias”?
“Pentia” is the leader of five others, or a “Penta”
I suppose it could be a “Sexta”, since with the leader there would be six members.
Pentia Karen’s Penta is Eric, Evan, Ellen, Elise and Mala.

This is my grinning.
See my grinning?
Grinning fit to split my head in half.
I’m so happy for the rooftop kitties.
I picture them firing, with 8-bit sound effects for each kill shot 😛

be assuming a lot. They might be sentient walls, with their own
