I was just helping you put your thoughts into words. Some of the things
I like about these oaths, such as the fact that they are both conditioned
on the actions of the other party and acknowledge the prior commitments
and priorities of the oathtaker I drew from my understanding of your
desire. I did try to express what a sapient wolf’s idea of fealty might be.
The way you used them, it doesn’t look like Rexx had to think out what
he was going to say. I half wonder if this was similar to the oaths given
him when he took his office. I also think today the words “us” and “My
people” mean Dogishuans, but he is aware that his perspective and
what those words mean to him will likely change to include the whole
of the Empire, and the oath will still be binding.
I am in awe at the two Oaths. They are powerful.
Words have meaning and power.
I have taken the Oath of Enlistment several times
(“I do solemnly swear… “), but those two leave me with an allergic
reaction. (anyone got a Kleenex handy sniff sniff?)
The nearly-identical and similarly-dressed “ladies in waiting” last strip, and
Elise and her twin today… (Haven’t we seen Elise before, or is this just the
first time we heard her name? Tags only go back one strip.) Anyway, PC, is
something ELSE going on in the Empire creating clones? (Doesn’t have to
be tech — identical twins ARE naturally-occurring clones.) Could just be
coincidence, of course.
Nah, they’re twins. They’ve both been named several times already,
although this is the first time you’ve seen them smile. Or talk much,
for that matter.
You’ll probably understand when you read tomorrow’s page.
It’s a recording.
There are many, for different possibilities.
Palas chose the most appropriate one.
A familiar looking invitation! lol
I like the wolf spirit in the king.
Yes, thank you for finding it. As soon as I saw your post,
I realized that it was perfect for this scene.
I think Jochi understands wolves.

A wolf who is your friend is a wonderful thing.
No training needed really, just understanding.

Not “something in the water” then? 🙂
