I like Teresa’s new look except for the spike heels. That is just me
as I don’t like in the real either. Great work on the plots. Thank-you.

I actually hadn’t considered the possibility until Jan mentioned it
    in TGW-892.
Once I considered the long-term possibilities, I realized that Jan
had an excellent idea, and I changed the story line.
The crew hasn’t figured it out yet.

Got it, thanks. Will try it out tomorrow. Bedtime now.

Well, at least one of them has brains enough to know when to run.
He might even be worth an invite to the Legion. Brown vest, however.
Perfect example of somebody who”s too stupid to live. Reckon who he
thought he was shooting at? Oh, well. “Cleanup on aisle 6.” Save the
empire the cost of a trial.

Mr Brown Vest might even be able to offset the cost of handling his
corpse by being turned into fertilizer (wood chipper?) or pig feed.

Thank you for the kind words.
Concerning the vote incentive – age comes up to all of us, with
      time 😉

Bill, the bozo might try to kill the light – Mavia is on that
platform by the wall and he seems to be aiming further out…

An edit option would be handy now.
A: I was trying to reply further up (Petercat’s entry mentioning me…)
B: I could just add Petercat to line one if…

        Well…

Yeah… wrong answer. He just got his two slower buddies killed too,
if Matthew isn’t on selective fire, and highly likely anyway.

Less ‘who I am’ than ‘who I am related to’. I wonder if she had litter
mates that didn’t make it onto the lifeboat. Rexx had to know she was
at risk if she was on a pirate ship, though.

Rexx wouldn’t ask another pack to put their members at risk
without doing the same with his own pack.

I keep thinking she was one of a bunch of kids, adolescents at best. But she
was as old or older that the Wolf Pack were at the start of this strip.

      this is me guessing..
would you rather, her be at minimal risk (there is a risk in everything.)
or be a bargaining chip (royal hostage) to the whims of the core worlds.??

Mavia’s safe, or as safe as it gets here. She’s high up and on the
front door. Brown vest is at the back door and off-line towards the
center of the room. He’s also not in control of his weapon and is
about to get smacked in the face by the recoil. His shot will
decorate the ceiling. He’ll be decorating the floor very soon…

Brown vest (actually a jersey-t) looks to be shooting the light or
the speaker.. or wildly in their direction.
but he is using a ‘scatter gun’,, and at that angle Mavia “might”
get a pellet or two.. or shrapnel off the hit objects..

Incentive/Teresa: Boot heel placement looks off – too far forward
and way too stiletto to be safe (as if any in R.L. actually are).
A little more substantial sized heel centered further back to
provide more support for when she has to kick some less-than-Imperial
    butt . . . .
can still be chic without being ostentatious.
    The Aging – well done.
The Empress Costman is well her way to becoming the elegantly stunning
woman she is surely destined to be. Johnathan looks like he has had a
couple before the pic – or -could be the beginnings of COPD . . . . 😀

I’m afraid I have to quit writing The Gentle Wolf. Sorry, guys.
I have no choice, as I have no “lived experience” as a teenage girl.
    Whatever that’s supposed to mean:
    https://disq.us/url?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.spiked-online.com%2F2022%2F01%2F27%2Fidentity-politics-is-killing-fiction%2F%3A9H7aHvexPA5JVN_D5Az0uovl1OU&cuid=280932
These people are insane. It’s fiction. Y’know, not based in fact?
So what the hell does “lived experience” have to do with it?
As if I’m going to let a stranger tell me what I can write about.
    Pffft.
Yeah, I’m not a heroic black Marine, either. Or a Federal agent.
Or a cat girl. Or an alien amphibian. I’m not supposed to write
    about any of them.
    I repeat, Pffft.

“Lived experience” – isn’t that what screwed up Stephen Crane?
As in doubting himself and looking for it?

Catman, the link you posted is broken. It just gets me to the

No one can write a story unless every character is exactly like them, I guess.

“We are sacrificing art and imagination at the altar of identity politics.”
Reads like the author of the article itself is agreeing with you, PC.
Those that (he/she/it) quotes sounds like many of those are the identity
      politics rat bastards.
You just keep on with TGW as it is, and I’ll keep reading, enjoying, and
occasionally commenting Thanks for all your hard efforts on our behalf.

So much for David Weber’s Honor Harrington, Heinlein’s Podkayne and Friday along with his other female protagonists, then there’s C. J. Cherryh and all of her male characters. Seriously, I don’t know how one could write a good entertaining story without strong male and female characters. Doesn’t make sense, but then the left and woke culture rarely does.

Regarding that last panel “Fuck You” shot. Sorry sonny boy you just
fucked yourself. Hmm, Followed your spiked-online link and while it
went to their site it didn’t go to that specific comment. Never
heard of it before and it’s probably not something I’d be interested
to hit on a regular basis. Cancel culture is going insane and it
looks like it turning into open warfare between the left and right,
liberal and conservative/libertarian. Did you see where has been
Neil Young threatened to pull his musical content from Spotify if
they continued to provide a platform for their number one pod caster,
Joe Rogan? Crazy! Guess what? Spotify just dropped Neil Young.
Has been Barry Manilow may be next. Screwy world. I’m starting to
migrate away from liberal sites such as YouTube in favor of Rumble
and such. Because I spend a lot of time researching on line, I
dropped Google a long time ago and use “Duck Duck Go” now. Google
kept taking me to irrelevant links and those not primarily what I
was looking for. Best of luck to you, been following TGW from the
beginning and it just keeps getting better.

I find it infinitely fascinating that today’s liberals are the least
“liberal” people around. They are vastly more punctilious and
enthusiastic at enforcing the orthordoxy – of the moment – than
Torquemada and his colleagues ever were. I fear for the future of
freedom of speech. We already see people being censored on the internet
for daring to question the most recent pronouncements of the powers
that be. One wonders how long voices such at our host’s will be allowed
to be heard. I watched a video recently by youtube provider Thoughty2
about comics and comedy being censored. The video was from 2018 i.e.
before the advent of Covid. He waxes quite passionate and eloquent about
comics being prosecuted for daring to upset people by poking fun of
various sacred cows. One wonders if he would be as passionate about
defending people who publicly scoff at the notion that Covid is the
21st century equivalent of the Black Plague or who dare disagree with
vaccination mandates. One also would wonder if he would be so passionate
about “free speech” which openly disbelieved in anthropogenic global
climate change. But I will shut up before I accidentally denigrate
    someone’s sacred cow.
