And Teresa hasn’t signed off yet so she just became aware of
the problem too.
My guess is that it might not be a problem for very much
longer :-> (devilish grin emoji)
Teleporting all (or part(s)) of opponents to who-knows-where, like
when Dagger and Teresa was mindlocked seems a capacity to be taken
considerably into account…
Given time it can also be used to remove the seemingly(is that a
valid word?) trapped party from danger…
Assuming Spirit can carry only one at a time…
“We’re about to come under attack”
And we’re about to find out what these military grade AIs in
children’s’ bodies are truly like.
I think it is the stuff of hero’s to friends and nightmares to enemies.
And if you thought Mr Costman was pissed off before, well……….
A wormhole map? I’m picturing a diagram like could be made with
Tinker Toys (dating myself) or mini marshmallows and toothpicks,
where each marshmallow stands for a star system or other region in
space and each toothpick is a wormhole. It shows how to navigate the
maze of wormholes and may have nothing to do with where the space
regions are in relation to each other in normal space. Is that about
right?
Outside: a dozen armed bandits of unknown capability.
Inside: Matthew, Sharon, sniper trained Aaron, Ivan, Jenna, Dan,
three combat trained Cats and four military grade AIs in android
bodies, and enough weapons to go around. Possible other assets,
besides whatever Teresa calls in. Somebody didn’t bring enough
players, or has more hidden capabilities.
I’m not giving anything away by telling you that your first
paragraph is right on the money.
Your second paragraph? Check your assumptions and get
back to us. You’re missing something.
I think these two Army quotes will assess the situation succinctly.
And then I’ll shut up “They’ve got us surrounded again, the poor
bastards”, Gen Creighton Abrams, WWII, Battle of the Bulge.
“No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by
making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country”,
Gen George Patton, WWII
I recently discovered your web comic via the Top Web comics site,
binged through it and now am now (sadly) up to speed. I must say
this is one of the most imaginative, well designed, intelligently
scripted web comics I have read and has the most cleverly designed
and executed characters I have seen in quite some time. I have
enjoyed every page and am looking forward to many more. Thanks
for making a most excellent and informative comic.
Thank you, Professor, please tell everyone you know! It’s you
folks who keep me motivated. Informal rules:
Mostly, the only politics we discuss here are those within the webcomic. This
site is a refuge, not a battleground.
Everyone is welcome, as long as courtesy is observed. Feel free to call me an
asshole, as long as you do it politely. You get points for style.
If I make an error, correct me. I want to write the best story I can, and I can’t
do that without your help and advice. I am not the smartest person in this room.
And I hate to ask, as I’m kind of old-school, but this comic is expensive, so if
you could support my Patreon, I’d appreciate it. https://www.patreon.com/user?u=20043190
Thanks for reading, (You binge read almost 900 pages? Wow!) I’ll keep writing
for people like you! (I’ve written almost 900 pages? Urrrrg…)
short,, you are selling yourself short… it’s closer to 2000…
there are two comics on most pages,, so 889 x 2 = 1778..
the bulk page list 927 pages,. 927 x 2 = 1854..
minus 30 for songs an single pages,, 1824
and,, because of the redo it don’t list the first 20 pages… so..
oh and that don’t include the “Vote Incentives.”
edit
my bad,, the first 20 pages are there,, but cuz of redo
they are not in order.. 927 is correct..
Wondering if my eye deceive me –
It seems that Julie’s top/shirt is patterned in nearly close detail
as out Desert Storm “Chocolate Chip” (DCU) Uniforms.
The theory was with the two color sand (dry and diesel soaked) with
little rocks and shadows . . . which incidentally
they did not issue to us until were ready to board our planes home.
Well, OK, understandably, the line troops needed them way more than
we did as hospital cadre and staff.
Funny you bringing that up. At the time the Iraqis went into Kuwait
my son – the 88M – was stationed at Ft Stewart in the 24th ID. You
know how supposedly the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait was a total surprise.
Now my boy told me that they had just come back from a trip to the
Army’s little playground in the Mojave where they inexplicably got
sent several month BEFORE they were previously scheduled to go. When
they came home the weenies in supply somehow forgot to have them
turn in their desert gear. Finally, the head shed started curtailing
leave BEFORE the invasion. I can nail down the timeline so well
because the Iraqis invaded Kuwait on my birthday. My son had already
gotten leave and was going to come in for my birthday and our
anniversary (two days after my birthday. How’s that for planning
ahead?) and he had his leave fully approved. Suddenly several days
before the invasion he called to let us know that while they weren’t
cancelling leave they suddenly weren’t approving any new leave
requests. Then a couple of days before the invasion he called to
apologize because he couldn’t come out. Seems they had cancelled all
scheduled leaves and were pretty much confining everyone to base.
Then when I got up the morning of my birthday and saw what was on
the news I figured it out. I swear the bastards freaking KNEW
something was about to happen and wanted the 24th ID – part of the
QRF – ready to roll. I will never forget right before they went
through the berm he called us to talk one last time before SHTF.
He and I talked about what arrangements he wanted just in case
he was killed in combat. A father is supposed to talk to his son
about where and how HE wants to be buried; not the other way around!
And Teresa hasn’t signed off yet so she just became aware of
the problem too.
My guess is that it might not be a problem for very much
longer :-> (devilish grin emoji)
Looks like some people are willing to go to any lengths to protect
their privacy (and whatever criminal enterprise they’re involved in)
I wonder what kind of battle damage dragonflies can do?
Spit acid? Spit fire? Blinding light? Bite?
Not to mention what the dragons themselves can do.

Oh, oh! Looks like a large mass of organic fertilizer is about to
impact the wind machine.
Like I said before, if Costman is going homicidal, it must be Tuesday…
And as for the second story; Pups In Spaaaaace!
Cpt Chardis (in best Billy Mays voice), “But wait, there’s more!”
I was LITERALLY thinking the same thing!
ROFLOLMFAO!!

Wouldn’t it be smart if Aaron (or someone else in the know)
‘released’ Beverley and CrystalA too?
Gives less chance for nasty surprises later on..
Good point. That is one thing I forgot about. May not be what PC means.
Good point yes, but no cigar.

Don’t forget that old Civil War joke that ends, “Don’t do it,
General, it’s a trap! There’s two of ’em!”

This young lady gets it.
The poor thing. She is starting to think – possibly for then first
time in her life? Could we have witnessed the birth of a
conservative?
