Nope, I would be the same, but Chira needs to “play”. Besides Aral has his arms folded and a big grin. He knows, Jonathan does as well, but he is a great parent so his reactions are good.
Chira looks unbalanced (physically, not mentally), and is falling backwards.
She could be falling, or getting ready to flip.
Always have sure footing. That dude Chira was standing on did not provide a solid foundation.
And just because a guy (Mitch) LOOKS harmless, doesn’t mean he IS harmless.
Never let your guard down until your opponent is rendered totally inert.
(I think in gun lingo it’s, “stops moving and/or catches fire”)
More like a 55 gallon barrel of whoop ass… Between Chira, Jonathan and our favorite Spetznas commando, I think they’re going to need a squeegee, a mop and a scraper to clean up the mess that was Mitch…
Mitch used past tense, assume cohorts are dead. I was pretty sure #3 was anyway, and #4 isn’t reacting to being trod upon.
i’m guessing left hand is moving to wrap fist and club from front and right hand is moving toward throat. Mitch is unlikely to survive either.
I don’t care which side of the aisle you sit on or where you live, this HAS to be disturbing:

Reading a really good book just now (non-fiction if you can believe it 😉 ) by a founding member of Greenpeace. The title of the book is “Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout” by Patrick Moore, PhD. Dr Moore was in at the beginning of the modern environmental movement. Jochi, I think this book would be right up your alley. I am confident it would be up the “real” Jochi’s. When he talks about why he left greenpeace he sounds like Reagan’s remark about how he became a Republican. Lots of good stuff about how the wackos hijacked what started out as a good thing. The man is an honest to goodness scientist with a PhD in Ecology.
Agreed, we don’t know enough about the case, or questions asked. Newspapers like to edit sometimes for space, but sometimes for an agenda. Was this story edited or just not informative enough? Was there any apologies from anyone or clear explanations? Very ambiguous to me.
Yeah. We always carried a copy of our (ethnic Japanese and Tokyo born) daughter’s birth certificate (actually a “Consular report of birth”) and adoption papers whenever we went to New Mexico to visit our son and grandchildren. Even had to show them at the Border Patrol check station west of Ozona once. That’s the same place where they demanded to search our (copper colored 90s model Dodge) minivan. They emptied the glove box and center console, opened all our luggage and even pulled the 2nd seat. When they found nothing we got to repack the van resume our journey home. Seems they had received a bulletin about a possible criminally related vehicle and decided tosearch our van. I found out later the bulletin was for a WHITE, EARLY 80s MODEL, FULL-SIZED FORD van so obviously it was simply an honest mistake on the part of the feds . . .
“Training exercise???”
For who? I already knew how to put the seats in and take them out. I think it was just feds being feds. Pretty much nothing about my van patched the BOLO but they asked if they could search the van and I, being a “good citizen who had nothing to hide” consented. Never again! It was humiliating to be standing there while they partially disassembled my vehicle and dumped out all our bags. They demanded proof our daughter really was ours and that she wasn’t an illegal alien (back when BP/ICE actually cared about such things) which we could provide. She’s grown now (40) so we no longer have to put up with that potential issue.
Warning: If you are travelling and are close to the border, SCOTUS has said that BP/ICE can search your hand-held devices WITHOUT A WARRANT within a certain distance of the border (150 miles IMS).

@PC: where did the editing option on posts go? Can’t seem to find it any more 🙁
@Bill Mullins: Whenever danish customs or police makes ‘exploded view’ of a suspected vehicle and do NOT find anything incriminating, THEY have to bring it back to what (and how) it was before they started. That has in a few instances given a poor soul a ‘new’ vehicle as the search had brought some parts (or the whole vehicle) in a ‘non-useable state’ :-). Thus nowadays they tend to be a bit on the sure side before using the ‘exploded view’-tecknique 😉 For one thing they have some dogs with some fantastic noses…
Sorry – I don’t know.
When my wife and I were returning to Germany from Amsterdam, I had to shut our car off to talk to the border police.
When I tried to start it, it went “Blech”. Dead battery.
One of the men called the shop where they searched cars and a mechanic came out with a new battery from a seized
BMW and installed it in our car for us. Great people.
This was back in the late ’80s. I have good memories of European Police.
Especially the French, from when a waiter in Paris thought he could slap my wife.
Catman, what is that image in the background in panels 6 & 7? I opened the image in a separate tab and zoomed 300% and still cannot figure out what that is. It looks interesting but I have no idea what it is supposed to be.
Kitten gets to play again. Stand down Jonathan, Aral is grinning and she’s got this in the bag or dumpster or van. Wherever he is toast.
The boy’s trying to club his daughter and you think Jonathan is going to stand down?

She’s jumping back.
I heard it as “Stops moving or stops burning”.
Burning things are often explody things.
And Mitch doesn’t know it yet, but raising that T stick against Chira, he just opened himself a whole #10 can o’ whoopass.

Nope just a hose to wash down the stain. Can’t have blood in the streets.

What is disturbing is that the article does not support the headline. This is obviously biased and very poor journalism.
It sure is poor journalism. Someone pushing their own agenda.

I have to disagree with most of the comments left.
This is something that flight attendants are trained to do.
The flight attendant and the police didn’t know that the girl was the woman’s daughter, but they knew that they were looking out for someone’s daughter.
I can’t even criticize how it was handled, since the story didn’t give enough details. Attacking them will only encourage them to not get involved in the future, when
it might be needed.

I don’t know, it came with the interior set.
