Sorry I haven’t been commenting lately. I have no excuse that belongs here.
Rob was right, we have a couple of female members, and I would like for them to join the conversation.
This is a congenial community, and if anyone dared to offer insult to any other member, well…
The reaction of the other readers wouldn’t be pleasant.
Bunch of sheepdogs here, so feel free to join in and be welcomed.
To encourage my female readers, I made a future vote incentive just for them.

Elroy and Belle? We don’t know why they were hoboing. Yeah, this is adequate incentive to interfere, and gives Waukanda two different reasons to seek peaceful and cooperative relations. The Empire is a good friend and a worse enemy.
Also, the Empire’s approach here IMO is wiser than that of Temujin. In his case, every neighbor he had an argument with was an enemy to be conquered, at which point they became part of his people he was responsible for, and they had neighbors on the other side, some with preexisting arguments, some with new ones. It doesn’t have a natural stopping point. Other than an ocean, which doesn’t apply in the modern world. (In THIS world, a gravity well doesn’t.)
Damn. I never did complete Elroy’s explanation here, did I? http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-549/
I hadn’t given much thought to their reason for leaving Trader’s Hill, GA except for
the possibility of a forced marriage or something equally distasteful.
Any suggestions, anyone?
Working on a multi-purpose cargo/troop carrier module. Dimensions inside are 10.5′ W x 8.5′ H x 29′ L. That would allow it to handle 28 4′ square pallets maximum. There will be jump seats along the sides for 36 troops plus 7 pallets or 72 troops in pure troop transport mode using a double row (back-to-back) of removable seats in the middle. Planning to add castering wheels to it to allow ground crew to mate it to a Locust transporter. The door will be a simple drop down on cables. the door will be at a 4-to-1 (25%) slant. (Actually the slant will be slightly less than that.) The full width door should facilitate rapid unloading of troops while allowing easy access with a forklift to load/unload cargo under field conditions.
Quick snapshot of the module as a work in progress here. https://www.deviantart.com/bmullins3/art/Multi-module-880606085
Studying pix of jump/troop seats in various aircraft – C-141, C-130, C-17, C-5, UH-60, CH-47, CH-53 – for general ideas on a design that I think the Empire’s engineers would design to go into their Locust transportable multi-purpose cargo/troop modules. With 10.5′ width to play with, I’m pretty sure I can squeeze in a row on each side plus a double row in the middle and still have room to walk in. Possibly not but I’m hopefull. What I plan to give the Catman is models of the module with the loading door open and closed and left, right and middle seats units for him to place as desired. Alternatively I could just build up separate models with the various seat configurations pre made and all he’d have to do is put people in the seats. It’s up to him. There will really only be three seat models. One of the jump seats folded (pure cargo config) one with jump seats deployed and one of the center seats. Elements are simple to copy to compose different finished models. I’m just wrapping my head around different designs of seats to make building them easier. As in the real world, all the seats will use tubular frames. cylinders are very easy to make and manipulate. I do hope PC sees this and gives me some guidance about his preferences.
Thanks for the link, Rob. The CH-64 cargo pod is an excellent match to what I’m building. Makes sense, too, since the Skycrane is a real-world analog to the Locust. I like those seats. The Locust is a tad taller and wider but is about the same length. After reviewing my initial calculations, I may not be able to fit as many troops in as I originally thought. Looks more like 54 (18/row x 3) troops in an all pax mode. Should still be able to accommodate 36 troops plus 7 4′ x 4′ pallets. Hopefully, I can find better pix than those so I can get a better handle on the modules’ design.
Ummm…..not to pick nits, but shouldn’t “Dept Redemption” be “Debt Redemption”? p=>b
Unless it’s a “Department of Redemption”?
But slavery, by any name, is still an evil.

Hey, pretty is pretty even if you don’t want to play with it.
Speaking of voting incentives, I can’t quite make it out, but it looks to me like the mouse has expensive tastes in alcohol.
Damn ! I wish I was as ripped as he is!
