Heh. When Chirk first showed up, I imagined her (and the rest of the cats) with a Gaelic accent.
So it makes sense that a Cat would sing this song, it fits their attitude.
And of course they would have an instrument that sounds like a bag full of angry feral cats.

We took somebody else’s zero and built math with which to measure the stars. We searched the heavens and all creation for the evidence of the Creator our Bibles told us we would find and in the process created the scientific method.
Perhaps, just perhaps we aren’t an unalloyed blight. What do you think?
