The other rifles are standing behind the couch. Or somewhere…
Actually, I forgot to add them.
Yanni is stretching her tail before dropping it behind her. I guess…
I’m asking because it’s getting cool outside, and I need a break from my life, and the internet.
Since auto-updates aren’t working on this site for some reason, I’d like to have one of my
readers update the pages on MWF so that I can go for a tour on my motorcycle for a while
before it gets too cold to spend a few days and nights out on the road. I’ve got everything I need,
lined jacket, chaps, sleeping bag, Sterno and a coffee cup. And maps.

I agree with you completely about getting away although I prefer my little 2 burner propane stove and a couple of bottles of gas. I also use my SUV to haul things. State parks are great this time of year. They are essentially empty so I pretty much have the place to myself. No mountains within about a 6 hour drive either. I was gonna volunteer (you have my old email address so I’d have to update you) but I see Rob has beat me to it. So now GO! Go hermit for a few days.

You are a tech guy, you may still be able to help.

I think I just made you into an Editor.

Yeah, this for me would be the hardest part of living in the Empire, the thing that would probably force me to accept banishment. I will show respect for the person and for the office, but as a free man I will not kneel before anyone but my Creator — and I’ve never met Him/Her. And yes, I’m well aware of the fact that this could possibly cause me to get shot some day by a cop who’s more afraid of an unarmed unfit unthreatening old man than I am of him.
But I wonder how seriously King takes this. I’m part of a hobby and social club — legally a not-for-profit educational organization, called the Society for Creative Anachronism. They have the world divided up into “kingdoms”, and the one I live in is called Ansteorra — basically Oklahoma and most of Texas. Over 20 years ago there were a king and queen who really thought they WERE royalty, and they had a pair of crowns made that everyone called the “Imperial Margarine Crowns” as they laughed behind their backs. They’ve sat in storage ever since, except for the occasional displays of ‘historical artifacts’. Nobody else will wear the gaudy things. They look a LOT like what King is wearing here. I almost get the impression he is making fun of the schtick he has to perform. I’m surprised to see crosses patee on it. I’d have expected dragons or dragon heads. And what are those appliques on his upper arms?

      See Rob’s comment below.
The Emperor takes none of this seriously, it’s all for show.
When Teresa becomes empress, the only reason people will have to kneel for her will be like Hassan’s was.
To be at her eye level.
      The appliques are decorations.
