Good call Katrina, this way they should be safe from any future
blame-layers, and let them see the Empire with their own eyes.
Not in pictures and words spoken by possible liers.
That boy has good a good head, and now I’m wondering if they
wasn’t a prince and princess being transported? And if so they
just fast-tracked their mission!
Well, I’ve finally bitten the bullet and bought a stand-up freezer.
My chest freezer was driving me crazy. I couldn’t FIND anything, and
it got filled with frost.
I have the perfect space in my kitchen for a Frigidaire 13 footer (I’ve always had
good luck with that brand.)
No one had one in stock, or could tell me when they’d arrive.
So I ordered a charcoal 20-footer for $100 more. I hate white appliances.
It wouldn’t fit in my kitchen, so I now have this huge grey monolith humming
quietly away in my living room.
Kind of like “2001 A Space Idiocy”.
My living room isn’t that big, now it’s even smaller.
Went grocery shopping today, bought a cart full of frozen food.
It barely made a dent in that vast empty space.
I also emptied my chest freezer into it, found stuff I didn’t even remember I had.
Filling that sucker is going to be expensive.
But a full freezer is a happy freezer.
PC,
Question. Do the freezer shelves have
refrigerant coils built into them? Or are
they “dead” shelves? (may not be their
official name, I don’t know what else to
call them).
If they’re “live” shelves (with refrigerant
coils), from time to time you may need to
turn the freezer off, unload the shelves,
and defrost the thing. Those shelves build
up frost all on their own (ask me how I
know).
Obviously best done in the deep winter,
and quickly (water messy).
OR…..maybe it’s a newer model with
automatic defrost? If so, ignore all of
the above.
Glass shelves, built-in fan, auto defrost. The one thing I can’t figure out
is how to remove and adjust the shelves. The instructions don’t work for me.
glass shelfs.. pull toward you,. and lift a little…
tho some have clips at the back corner.
you have to release one corner at a time,.
i usually just pull the clips off.
only used if you have kids, to keep them from
pulling them out…
Heh, I had bought one several years ago for beef storage from
our cows, then my sister took it over and filled with her own food.
After she had passed I went out to see if it needed defrosted
and it was almost solid with frost. So my son and I emptied it
and left it unplugged to thaw. Now it’s a nasty mess, I’m NOT
happy about it. It has the metal racks rather than glass. The
whole reason it frosted like that she had over-filled it and
blocked the fan opening.

In order to keep it full and more efficient, without breaking the
bank, you can fill plastic bottles (we used to use gallon milk jugs)
or waxed milk cartons (did I just date myself?) most of the way full
(a cup or two down, and leave the caps off) and let them freeze,
then add the caps. Gets the efficiency up without breaking the food
budget all at once.
Sigh… It just keeps coming, my wife’s best friend died this morning.
The dwarf friend? It seems her hip breaking was caused by bone cancer
and due to the replacement surgery, it spread throughout her body.
By time she got in to be checked out the only place they didn’t find
any was in her brain. They took her off life support this morning, she
passed at 10:17am. My wife’s a mess, I’ll be away for a bit, this could
trigger her copd in a bad way.
It’s cold, 19F tonight. Aaaaand, it’s snowing.
Because of course it is. About an inch so far.
House is built for the heat, not the cold.
Good AC, but heat? Who needs it?
Turns out I do… My heat is okay until about 40.
Also open any undersink cupboard doors, at least those
on an outside wall, to allow some room air into those
spaces, to help prevent freezing if there is insufficient
wall insulation to keep the pipes from freezing.
It hit -9F here yesterday, And there’s still a foot of snow on
the ground. You know it’s bad when you go to start the car
and it’s going “rrrr……..rrrrr……..rrrr….. vroom!” that little
Sonic we have all the doors are froze shut, i just hope the
battery didn’t freeze.
And it hit 29F today… Anyway, My father fell again, spent the
night laying on the bathroom floor until I found his at 10:30
am today. I called the nurse to help me get him up and check
him out. Gave his a dose of morphine, he’s been sleeping since.
I have no choice, I’ll have to hire someone to come in daily
to help him to the bathroom. The nurse ordered a bed alarm,
and I ordered 2 cameras to put in his room. This is getting bad.
I’m terrified to go to sleep now. And I ran out of coffee…

Anyone else follow this Cop blog? It has it’s moments.

Yes it does, but I can only take so much blood-pressure-raising
info. Shitcago is aptly nicknamed.

My prayers of God’s peace
to you and your wife
to cope with this.
Thanks, I’ve been keeping her drugged up with
her anxiety and pain meds, it’s helping but she’s
snapping and nagging at me and our son. Sigh…

Turns out I do… My heat is okay until about 40.
Wrap up in coats, sweaters, and blankets,
turn on the oven, crack open the oven door,
and camp close to that oven.
Best of luck.

Anyone know how to setup a drip of espresso? Mainline the shit!
