A lot of preparation went into this trip. I love the fact that
there’s no real lag after a jump, compared to gate travel.
I’d take “getting up too fast” dizziness over baby drooling
any day! The lag you feel sounds like a hangover born
from a big bottle of cheap whiskey and being tazed, more
than once.
It’s a case of, “If you’ve BTDT, then no explanation
is necessary. If you HAVEN’T BTDT, then no
explanation is enough.” This applies in almost
all occupations.
It’s time the Wolf Empire gets its nose bloodied. It has
expanded relatively painlessly until now. It’s time the
Empire lost a battle -badly. Greatness isn’t winning all
the time. It’s getting knocked down, kicked and stomped
and still getting up an finally winning.
The problem is they know way more about the GC than
the GC knows of the Empire. The Demons decided that
the planet was easy pickings, and it cost them. Never
make assumptions, they always bite, hard. No intel about
the battle got out, so the GC might still be thinking that. It
may still be coming, but not yet. Katrina is taking a battle
group larger and stronger than the Demons sent, that alone
is a great way to shock an aggressor.

Please email me some suggestions as to how that would happen.
No miracle weapons, please. How an enemy with greater numbers but inferior
tech could defeat a smaller, more advanced group of ships.

Yeah, it wasn’t until I wound up in the hospital that
my wife knew just how risky it was. Work and home
never mix.
