They don’t understand that a fleet of light cruisers and below would have been
the best choice for their fleet in the first place.
They would have still lost, but it would have taken more effort.
They didn’t bother to get to know their enemy.
Though it would be funny if they returned from their diplomacy tour with:
“That’s all? I mean it will cost us, sure, but it’s survivable and less costly
than a war.”
It depends, if they can conceive the idea that fast moving,
agile, well armed ships are better in combat than a fleet
of huge, mega armed ships, then maybe. If war and
combat is a religion to them, then they might not be able
to accept it. “We need more powerful ships!” Ah no, the
more mass you have, the less maneuverable they are. Plus,
Imp-navy ships can do 90 to 180 degree turns while firing.
Or pull 40 G banks without breaking so much as a sweat.
The only way these mega-beetles can match the Empires’
fleet is if they can find either their own grav drives or something
along the same lines, and even them, tactics. Diplomacy
will only work for them is if they can “behave” themselves,
which I doubt they can. I’m sure any dragonfly will pick up
on any duplicity.
as i commented earlier. if she takes all the branded. as most go commando
(for this reason) she has to replace at least shorts an T-shirt…
so 8 prison orange XX size corrections coveralls…
Cracks me up, they get the decree, and start to whine about it, Negron solved it fast.
Just a simple “Ally-up!” by the head shut him up and you can see the fear in his eyes
while his feet dangle 😉
I expected they were warrior types, but like the core, think shear numbers and brute
force wins over tactics. “Achieve our destiny” is worrisome, it tells me war is not just
a means, but a belief system for them. NOT good, (Hamas in space!!) heh. Terran’s
and Catian’s are too flexible, too quick to change tactics, these guys will have too
many “rules of conflict” to “on the fly” change tactics. It will get messy.
Scars –
Good eyes. I didn’t notice that Negron was a good head taller
in panel three but in panel 4 the moron’s head was almost level
with Negron. Yeah, his feet are off the ground a ways.
Actually, he’s starting to flail and kick (P4), not that it will help.
I’ve been lifted by the head, it’s not fun and doesn’t feel good.
Then I put on 40 lbs of muscle and was choke-lifting them 😉
Yes and no, I suspect Jee’s still going to have to strip,
but she might let him wait until he can put something
else on first, while the rest are walking commando.
so… looking back over,. panel 3.. What is the green thing
in front of the van.? that just appeared there.!
and it’s just that frame….
edit:
or panel 2 the weird thing in front of Mavia. (water bottle.?)
It’s hard to make out, but I see railing on the sides and small
wheels all the same color. Perhaps a transport dolly? Maybe
self-powered? I can’t tell for sure.

Looking back, the green thing looks like a cart corral. Maybe?
Yeah, at 500% it looks like a bottle, but more like a wine bottle
shape, but not attached to anything I can see.
If you noted Chris on earlier pictures, he seemed to handle some kind of sack dolly
(approximate translation of ‘sækkevogn’), a thing used to move sacks or other goods
around without stressing the person moving said stuff’s body. It’s got wheels, which in
my experience the body appreciates, not having to carry the goods. 😉
the ‘hand truck’ or dolly cart. yes i noticed (blue, and have a 600 pound rating)
never went far from his left hand…
no, i’m talking about the green thing (kinda looks likes a truck bush grill.)
that just appeared i front of the van.. 0.o
It kinda reminds me of the dolly’s that they have at Menards
(snicker me-nards)
They had the main wheels in the center, and slightly smaller wheels on
each end with 3 rails. It’s mainly meant to be used for carrying boards
and such, but I’ve seen people carrying sheets of plywood on them,
doors, and stacks of pellet-stove pellet bags.
those are dry wall carts. (or panel carts)
the flat carts are supposed to be used for long boards
or heavy items (3,000 lbs rating) where as the dry wall
carts are supposed to be rated at 1,000 lbs
Has Topwebcomics become honest? I just voted, and everyone’s vote totals seem unusually low.
Normally, by this time on the first day, the top 10 would have 10,000 t0 20,000 votes.
But #1 has less that a thousand, and #2 only 161.
Please vote, TGW is at #24 with only 16 votes. 10 more would put it back in the top 10.
I’ll start posting more incentives, I’d kinda given up on it.
All I was saying is that they did this last month too,
we started in the 20’s and steadily held that spot for
a couple of weeks and the the top 10 skyrocketed
by thousands.
TWC has updated its site. I think they said that included improved
voting filtering. I think they knew there was a problem and they
were reluctant to admit it until they had a solution.
Of course I find as rule of thumb:
“do not attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained
by ignorance.”

Peel it off yourself, or Negron
will start peeling you like a
banana. But her way will hurt.
his , his way Negron is male…
Oops!
My sincerest apologies.
I’m thinking the candy stripe suits of the 1930’s
or the 60’s English’s star-burst pattern on tan 😉
Panel 8 – Hmm. At present, looks like tall, dark & hooded
thinks it’s the destiny of his race to rule.
That’s how it looks to me, too. I see a major war in the
future. (Note to self: add popcorn to shopping list.)
Oh boy. At the very least, a somewhat more (if not Much more) advanced species.
And apparently with a sense of Manifest Destiny.
Depending on where they stand, the kind of species the Lir like to tap on the
shoulder and say ‘Stand Down. Or we’ll have fun.’

At least we now know Jee’s fate.
He must be wiping his brow for being safe.
Tall brown and ugly is in for a major surprise,
i believe.

Kajm’s eyes popped.
ARGH… filter got me, but for what?
I don’t know, it wasn’t in the trash. Can you post it again?

Great. Thank you. I just wish they’d left the old template.
The new one is clumsy and difficult to navigate.
