Yay! Miral lives!!! Thanks for not drawing the suspense out, PC.
I don’t know if I could have waited much longer to find out.

Good! Death sentence as she deserves.
No name, an unmarked and unknown grave.
    Even its gender was taken.

Even better than an unmarked and unknown grave would be
to cremate her corpse and toss the ashes loosely into the sea.

        That’s a thought, but she doesn’t deserve a sailor’s grave,
just dump it in the trash…

“Sailor’s grave” – do you mean burial at sea?
That isn’t what I was suggesting.
I said burn her corpse and spread her ashes
on the sea, to be spread around the world.

However, tossing in the trash works too. 🙂

          Osama bin Laden.
Isn’t that how we disposed of his body?
So his grave wouldn’t become a

I see her family being led off, too. But I wonder how this
sentence will affect them. Can’t ostracize a family for a
member they never had. So, it’s either they get off lightly
or the whole family loses its stature, maybe its existence.

Sora’s family, if they aren’t charged as well, have such
great dishonor that they will lose all power and what
riches they have is all they will EVER have. And I’ll wager
they will be exiled as well…
No one will do business with them or even speak their
        name.

A .380? ok only slightly more powerful than a .22, my sister had one,
I seen the slugs bounce off a log. I was worried a bit as I was reading,
it started to sound like an epitaph. I had hoped the toughness of the
Cats and more so Miral would carry her through it, their skin is more
like leather than human. She’s going to need time to recover and maybe
the bond between the family and clan will grow even more now. I love
the punishment they have in store for Sora, I can’t think of a more
fitting one for someone that did what she did. She should thank Ahmya
for letting her live for trial, Azahy looked like he wanted to have a
look at what color her kidney’s were! Bare-handed no less…

I learned about this in a criminal justice class:
When they were available, a girl dumped two magazines (14 rounds)
of Super Vel into an obese home invader/convicted rapist.
She hit him 13 times, including two that bounced off his skull.
When the Deputies arrived, he was sitting on her porch complaining
      “The bitch shot me!”
One Deputy told her “For God’s sake, get a .45!”

I think I heard about this, I didn’t know it was a .380 she shot
him with. My sister after he last divorce upgraded to a 5-shot
.45, I couldn’t grip it, the grip was too short for my fat fingers.
My 9 mm barely fits, but there’s one thing about it I hate:
no safety! My son told me “it has a long pull.” I still worry…

Scars – funny thing about grips. I find when I use
a full grip that I apply too much force with my pinky
and cause the barrel to dip. So I’ve developed the habit
of extending my right pinky out and tucking my left
pinky under it. Basically, two right fingers on the grip
covered by three left fingers wrapped over the top.
It works for me. And I don’t have to worry about getting
a full grip on snubbies! (Which also have no safety. 🙂 )

can’t do the art anymore. At least not what he remembers.
It was my fault, I told him about the attempt mugging

I’ve seen those, but after that rookie pulled his

IF you really need a support,. then you would fall over

also: everyone says its illegal. so they don’t have to
deal with it, but if you look, about a third of the states

I don’t need one to walk anymore, as long

I use for groin shots or a fist enhancer since
brass knuckles were outlawed in Indiana.
Or as a hook to disarm. Mine’s metal, but
light weight, so it’d break easily if I use it
as a club. The “Gimpy old man” thing gives

Handguns suck compared to rifles. I recall reading about
a state trooper who pulled over sumdood who was high on
drugs. The trooper ended up emptying his .357 Magnum into
the guy, good hits too, and still ended up dying at the hands
        of the druggie. Who lived.

Heh, I know of one handgun I would not want to be shot at with,
My brother-in-law took the idea of my son’s .50 beowolf and
made a handgun out of the lower. It’s what we used on that bull.
It still uses a “handgun” type of round, but it makes a .44 mag
round look like a 9 mm.
Druggies are no joke, I had a guy strung out on PCP try to pick
a fight with me, I had to use a brick wall in a head-lock just
to knock him out. He took my kicks and punches like kitten paps.
          A flying drop-kick just made him laugh… That’s blood-chilling.

Scars – I once shot a Sig chambered in .380 at a bowling pin
match at 10 yards with round-nose lead bullets. Granted,
they weren’t powerful reloads, as reloads go, but still. I found
one of the bullets on the ground five yards out. It still had the
factory lube in the lube-groove, and had not deformed at all.
I could have loaded that bullet into another shell and shot it again.
I’ve never seen anything like it. Now, factory Speer Gold-Dots!
Those are a fair bit more powerful. But, into a cat, yeah,
not nearly as much damage as into a human.

I can believe it after seeing that in the binoculars. It’s
a close-quarters weapon only, about the same effective
range as a sword or long knife. The only gun I seen
that was worse was the .25 revolver, I was shot at by
one, a metal trash can lid just dented. Punk didn’t know
it needed cocked after every round, so i explained his
mistake in great “detail,” he “dozed off” so I doubt he
would have remembered my “instruction.” Heh… I

I just re-read that. The picked up bullet at 5 yards was a bounce back.
The pin went off the table. It might have been interpreted that there
was no powder in the shell, and the bullet only made it 5 yards on the
        power of the primer alone.

Miral, obviously, does not have body armor. This is an earlier storyline,

    Slight quibble: In P1, shouldn’t Ahmia’s pronouncement
have been more like, “She will be tried and, if found guilty,
be executed.”? The way it reads now it appears like the
trial will be a mere formality since the end result seems
to be foreordained. That doesn’t look at all like justice

Ahmya isn’t making a verdict there, just a statement
of fact, Sora’s attempt on her life and shooting Miral
in front of so many witnesses, it’s a no-brainer as to
      the verdict of the court.
Sora was toast the moment she pulled out the gun,

I had a full cardiac catheterization yesterday. They did something
I had never had done before. They inserted a catheter in my right
jugular vein and poked around in the right side of my heart. Then
they went in an artery (in my wrist, not my groin) and looked at
the left side. They found a 90% blockage near the entrance to one
of the branch vessels. The Doc said that it would require a lot of
contrast medium so to give my (not so hot) kidneys a break I’m
going back in on Friday of next week to get a stent placed. Fun
and games! I guess those episodes of pressure and (usually) dull
ache over my heart were real. At that time they’ll also be in a
better position to decide how soon the stenosing aortic (output)
valve will have to be replaced. {sigh} Both my folks had heart
issues so I got a double dose. None of my sibs have developed
    heart issues so that’s good.

The bad part of them going in through my right wrist is they
have my right hand strapped to a splint to reduce me using
that hand while the cutdown heals. I’m a southpaw so it isn’t
too bad but it is a challenge to get some things done. Oh well.

I can really, really relate to that of Miral.
Been an airplane/flying fanatic as far back as I can remember.
They fussed at me for shinnying up a B-36 prop blade at an airshow

    “If ‘it’ tries to escape…”
Nice detail of telling us that Sora has been erased and to which extend.

Sora lost all human status, “IT”
is all she merits at this point.
Just more trash to dispose of.

Wasn’t Miral pregnant? Has she already delivered?

I remember Miral being VERY pregnant, but I think that was a
vote incentive and possibly not canon. I think she was showing
when she first met Ahmya, which PC says was a very short time
ago here (can’t literally be yesterday in-story). But she wasn’t
showing any more, iirc, when they two met the racists in the
      coffee shop.

it was canon, several pages of Not being able to fly, cuz of preggers.
also, comic time flows differently,. i think PC said “short time between
comics”.. and about a year in sed comic time,,, cuz, finish school,
finish preggers, and getting to know each other,.!

Even 6-7 months would cover it.

            no,. at least 9 months,.
unless doc curry altered gestation cycle.
30 days to wean kit,. maternity leave.
            then 2 months on island,…so a year.

My thought was the time between discovery
of the pregnancy too, it was her first one.
My elder sister didn’t know for the first 3
months, although as heavy as she was it’s
              understandable…

i based all this off Miral knowing she
was preggers when she first met Ahmya,.
bump showing and the “eat for three” comment…

That is a point, I remember Brian(?) saying
“The three of us need to eat” after Miral
      schooled Ahmya about her dishonoring
      her father.
