Panel 4 – had something similar (but not as
    royalty) many years ago.
Wife and I were a bit loud, and the kids woke up.
Had to reassure them through a closed door that
everything was fine. Just fine. Really.

Panel 3 – What you mean – We? You’re the one
who tripped and threw me before crashing down
    on the bed.

      He’s lucky he didn’t face-plant onto
her backside, a broken nose would
NOT look good to his guard. I’m sure
the guard will have a good laugh at a
      bar later 😉

    P7-P8.
It sounds like a colloidal. Or a force field from Dune
    (the slow blade…..)
Ummmmm……if you’re going to test for bullet proof,
don’t do it on me. Or any other living sentient being.
Use a dummy, or a pig corpse. With lots of sensors
    and high speed cameras.

P4 reminds me of the scene in “The Quiet Man” (my wife’s
2nd favorite movie – “McLintock is her favorite) where Barry
Fitzgerald’s character, Michaleen Oge Flynn, sees the broken
    bed and exclaims “Homeric!”

Heh, called it, but it will be a funny talk with
friends later in life 😉 Our funny story was when
we had a free-flowing water bed and I plopped
down too hard at 3am and spread-eagled, my
naked wife that was asleep against the wall,
    resulting in her panicked scream…
    yeah not good.

I had wondered if it could be lined, but with
something “grown” it might be tricky. Plus they
will have to be made to fit each user, they might
stretch a bit, but I doubt they could shrink down.
    At least not yet…

ok… I’ve been quoting real world stuff.!
the problem with the ‘rws’,. is the price.
      a piece 4″ x 4″ an 1mm thick will cost
about $125,000,. so a body suit is close
      to 1 mill…
and actually, it’s a little easier to “grow”
when using a binding base… tho cotton
is too porous, well maybe they used a
      ultra fine weave…

edit: sorry. math off. a full body suit
      is closer to 20 mill…

If I’m reading this right, they have a way to make
clothes out of “slime”, a substance that hardens
when any impact happens, but acts as a thick
liquid when at rest. The closest thing in RL is
pouches that are inserted into a combat vest,
and that is experimental(?). This stuff holds
shape and seems to act like Kevlar but is cool
and far easier to move around in. As far as cost
goes, it’s a prototype, to develop it’s gonna
cost more than most 3rd world countries GNP.

          not experimental. look at oobleck…
the experimental is getting the price down

That’s why I added the ?, I knew they were doing tests, I
didn’t know how far they got with it. Billions have gone into
military testing, sometimes for great things, sometimes
makes a chivvy go HUH? Like the rocket wheel for clearing
beaches in WWII. Looks good on paper, ends badly.

If i remember correctly, someone has been playing
with an orange polymer based oobleck panel system.
I think that may have been a few years ago,
and it kind of fellow my radar.
Health issues became a higher priority.

              graphene,. others, no comment!

      huh,, guess i’m one.
cuz i always thought US was founded on
“Religious Freedom”. and there was a
      ‘separation of church and state’…
      also, which god?

The point was that Mr. T is branded as being a
godless, racist, nazi, world ending fool. So far
all they have done is proved (again) that they
are spoiled children demanding the last piece
of candy after being told no.

Separation is not the same as hostility.
        He’s expressing his opinion,
not endorsing any laws regarding a religion.
Politicians on all sides have been speaking
like this since the founding of our Republic.
        The Constitution allows it.

And that is why my church,
which could certainly be considered “fundamentalist,”
filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court when
they were considering prayer in public schools.
The questions is always “whose prayer?” and
“whose god?” And it’s probably important to note
that the principle is “freedom OF religion,”
        not freedom FROM religion.

I agree that religion should not be forced.
As long as the school does not suppress the free
          religious expression of the students.
The same limits would apply as to every other freedom…
No one is free to unjustly harm another.
So no gangs of leather-clad Christians intimidating
other students or stealing their lunch money as “tithes”.

Same here, I’ve always felt that everyone has
the right to their own beliefs and opinions, but
not to force them on everyone. Same goes for
mistakes, I don’t blame people for their mistakes,
but I do expect them to make it right. It’s a
concept I taught my sons, I just hope they
            pass it on.

Maybe there should be a comparative theology course,
as an elective in high school.
For those more interested in one religion than another,
perhaps an off campus course, taught by local
theological professors of the religion in question?
Again, this SHOULD be an elective course,
tied in with social studies for grade credits.
If available, both parents and their students
would have to agree to them taking the course.
It might be an idea to separate the discussions to
            regional based religions and philosophy,
as many religions often sway more towards the
philosophical, that religion. And, by comparative
            religion,
I include Atheism as one of the major religions.

First time a Terran and Catian get together voluntarily,
will be interesting. Since the change made by Loki,
I have to wonder if the law against Terrans and Catians,
“getting together” has been rescinded? So far,
I’ve seen a few Terran / Catian interactions that have
had good enough chemistry, that more intimate
        interactions would seem almost natural.
I have to wonder though, if they are now genetically
close enough, what would their kids be like?
