I love both P7-8, I wish all designers and engineers would
talk to users and mechanics about their designs, it would
save OH SO many headaches for both. I’m talking about
the private sector, I know that the space program in RL is
smarter than that, or there would have never been a
successful moon landing.
oh the list i could give… mechs hate engineers.
biggest nasa issue right now is metric,. egg heads
use metric but everyone else uses standard.
over half of the launches lost are Not design flaw.!
That is true, that one mission that Robin Williams
joked about, they did the calculations in feet, but
used metric for the launch, the lander just buried
itself! 20 feet and 20 meters are totally different.
Designed to fire the retros at 100 feet but the lander
would have fired at 100 meters and so on. https://www.simscale.com/blog/nasa-mars-climate-orbiter-metric/
oops, I have that backwards…100 meters
vs 100 feet. it’s like slamming the brakes
at a car length away driving 60mph,
NOT happening, just a lot of noise…
