I even scare myself.
My first thought was if it works on a human physiology, THAT is
a trade item. I could see bars stocking it just so they could sell
drinks more freely beforehand. I could see the designated driver
being the only one who uses it before leaving.
The “I don’t care” sounds like what I would have expected from
Jonathan and the rest of this benign despotism. No need for
secrecy when there is no evil. This is a fantasy world populated
by paragons and I am cool with that. Power corrupts only
mortals, not Superman or Captain America.
Jonathan’s “I don’t care” merely means that he is not concerned
about Julie’s research into his past.
“Despotism” carries such negative weight today, I would argue
that while Teresa does have absolute authority, she governs more
as a monarch than as a despot. She barely concerns herself with
affairs of the Kingdoms, other than ensuring that no Kingdom
abuses the citizenry and no King becomes a despot in fact.
And no, this world is most emphatically not populated by
paragons, they are just who the story concentrates on, as an
escape from our current reality. I have shown evil people in
this story, but I choose not to concentrate on them. But even
the good people that I portray are not paragons, they are just
good despite their faults.
To be honest? The only people that worry about other’s looking
are ones that have something to hide. Sure, Johnathan has done
things in the name of the country and such, but the classified
stuff would take some very serious hacking to get to, and are
pointless now since most of the parties involved are either dead
or working for Teresa. It’s about the seriously rude and unwarranted
act of nosing around in personal data for just the sake of doing it.
Many of us don’t worry about someone looking into our past, but we don’t like it.
It’s not just an invasion of our privacy, but there’s always something negative to
be found in our pasts that can be spun to our detriment using the standards of today.
Look at how many have been attacked for comments that were acceptable when they
were made twenty years ago.

If you’ve never done something in the past that makes you cringe thinking about
it today, then you are a very rare man. I, for one, have a lot to hide. or that I
don’t want displayed in public, at least.
There’s been only one perfect man to ever walk the Earth, and he got hung on a cross.
I don’t worry about anyone nosing around me, given where I
grew up I doubt anyone would blame me for the things I did.
Like Johnathan, people can twist any record to have a different
meaning to the public. He did what was needed to be done to
make people safe, while other’s do it to better themselves.
THOSE are the one’s that make a huge stink about privacy.
Here we go, only the carpet she’s being called on isn’t cloth,
it’s stone. Julia did look into his past, and he wants to know
what she thinks about it. Interesting, she now knows more
about Johnathan than most of her classmates.
The real question is, what is she going to do about it?
He reminds me of an old version of the chubby Captain that got
his butt kicked for his bluster at the Cats. We’re already seeing
the effect of the Empire’s actions on this planet’s economy, it’s
only natural that the smaller businesses and/or workers would
turn to the Empire for work and better profits/incomes. The core
has pretty much lost the trade war, they just won’t admit it yet.
Next, the shooting war between the Core and everyone else,
I don’t see that ending any better than the trade war has…
You learn you’re worth in the world when your cat (who is in heat)
wakes you up at 4am doing her “I’m sexy and I know it” dance
digging her hind claws into your chest with her butt inches away
from your face… once she landed on the floor she immediately
tried to get back up there so I was up for the rest of then night….
gotta love your cat! Does anyone know how to explain to one that
I’m not into fur?!? 😛
play more.. IF you play once a day, play 3 times..
heating pads,, make a nest or two,. well heated..
all natural calming drugs,, like cat nip.!!
get her spayed. (after heat.) or get her bred.
I’ve tried that, it helps for a bit but not for long.
We’ve got a puppy playpen that can be closed up
I may have to start putting her in it over night.
I was told she was fixed… so yeah… anyway I
plan on getting her fixed asap.
