much less steal anything from them. I’d say it’s going to
other towns, use up/steal the resources/people, move on
to the next gaining men and weapons long before they
try something THAT stupid. Just another group of tin-pot
dictators trying to build an empire of their own. It’s logical
to try to take over smaller groups, build man power and
resources, take over larger towns, etc. That’s what many
of the medieval lords did and there’s always one that comes
out on top. Until the next one does, rinse and repeat.

Sounds to me like they sucked this town dry on resources, plan
to take what they can and move on to the next.

Ah, the panic test, I wondered if they were going to do that to the
recruits at some point, book learning and simulations can only do
so much. It’s hard to create real-time simulations with the limited
number of ships in the area. With the huge number of possible
recruits from the Buns, they need to get up to speed asap so they
can help train the next batch. Once they can get a steady flow of
crews, the Empire can start sending ships for them to man.
Although, might be safer to ship them to Terra first. I suspect a
great many of the current fleet crews members are going to be
promoted to captain, as the Buns finish their training.
Perhaps, with the backwater planet they have, The Laporidae will become
the training center for the Empire, cranking out ship’s crews like the
Catians and Terran ship building facilities have done. It really depends on
what resources the system has… Other than their people of course.

ships to gain exp and such, then maybe fully crewed
ships of their own. You don’t want to crew new ships
with only raw recruits “off the shelf” so to speak.
I’m sure by now Roxy is waiting for a crew to man her
own ship she’s helped build. I know she’s still on the
Pride, but that’ll change soon thanks to the new recruits.

PC, I’ve been wanting to build a bulk container freighter for a while. I
need hard (or at least firm) numbers for max diameter and length. I
know there is a maximum diameter for wormhole transit. I figure there
ought to be a maximum length as well based upon safe speed for
crew for transit. I really need firm numbers. If nothing else pull them
out of the dark, smelly place.
I seen that, it kinda looks like a stylized version of the of the
very first starship Enterprise, a warp 2-3 ship that disappeared
early on in the TOS series, they had reached the galaxy’s edge
and half the crew died crossing it, and a couple went mad after
their minds were altered by the field.
It looks like they rotated the ring(s) 45 degrees and added nacelles,
and removed the stalk between the crew section and the engine section.
It could be an early design of a “warp ship” by the core. (yes I zoomed in)

There is. It’s called “copremesis”. Of course when it happens in the real
world it means somebody’s innards are seriously messed up but it
actually happens. Someone who suffers from copremesis would formally
be a “copremete”. How about from now on shitbats are called copremetes?
I know but the name “Shitbats” seems more appropriate for them,
I can’t help but wonder if the Elder Gods didn’t design for some
species to be trouble makers and other’s to be sheep/freedom
fighters? The thing about sheep… If you piss them off enough they

I think I understand what’s going on between Flea and Diane, and why
Flea is about to share her story. Based upon what a female friend told
me long ago after we watched the Chuck Norris movie “Code of Silence”,
the way Diane has herself tucked in to that corner indicates that she’s may
have been sexually abused. The dragonfly would know, and could have let Flea
know. There’s no other reason I can think of for Flea to open up to a complete
stranger about her past unless it’s to let her know she understands what she’s
been through, and to offer help in healing from it.
I think so too Sam, That poor girl is old and cute enough for
those men to want to “play” with her, I hope Flea can help
her see that this isn’t the end. And there is hope and help
where they are going. King was helping troubled people
out long before the Empire, I very sure Teresa wouldn’t let
that poor girl and Seth live with those memories without
help through it. Hell Kathy alone has been through far worse,
Flea had to go to extremes to end her torment. Dianna just
needs to know for 100% sure they are now safe. Just like
Cissy did.
Bill, what CAD program do you use? I’ve been getting by with TinkerCAD,
I’ve been tinkering a little with Fusion 360, but I’ve barely scratched the
surface of it.
Years ago I got into a shareware 3D modelling program called “Anim8or”.
It’s not as fancy as the ones out there but it was free at a time when
others cost. It works okay for me and there is a fairly large and friendly
user base that is willing to help when asked questions. I have been off
my computer for right at 2 years now so getting back into it will be
somewhat of a challenge. It has a crap ton of keyboard shortcuts
which can speed things up if you remember them. I also have
Daz3D’s “Hexagon” modeler but while powerful it does have a
steep learning curve. I also have “Blender” which also has a fairly
steep learning curve. I once was proficient in Anim8or and so
basically know how to do what I want to do. Relearning Anim8or
will be less work than starting from scratch in the other programs.
I have blender as well, but not only is it complicated, but it’s
really for things like TGW or a lot of students wanting into
animation (or, as my son tells me, pron games… he really
needs a girl friend…) I’ll take a look at anim8or, I really don’t
want to pay out $500 a year for fusion unless I’m running
in the black, so far PC is the only person I’ve done anything
for that wasn’t family or a friend of family.
I looked it over, anim8or looks interesting, I might d/l it and give it a try.
I have tried many other programs like FreeCAD to name one, another
(I can’t remember the name) was more like the old days of basic, you had
program each and every piece, rather than using macros and mouse,
that got old fast, I’ve forgotten way too much! Other’s felt like I was putting
together Ikea furniture, crappy instructions and way too many hoops
to jump through.
PC, where did you get that ringship in panel 8? I’d like to get a better look
at it. I don’t want to copy it, I just want a better look. Ringships could be
a solution to having FTL travel without going through jump points. It would
have the advantage being able to enter a star system at a point other than
the wormhole. Of course it would also have the disadvantage of having to
traverse the distances between star systems instead of skipping past
them which would increase transit time. I’ve been doing some cogitating
about non-wormhole-related FTL travel in the TGW universe. I’ll drop a
synopsis here after the next episode drops tonight. PC kind of opened
that door a while back.

a new wormhole, when traveling through it, the WH is rocky
to travel through, causing some damage and injury, when
they arrive, there’s clear signs of a huge battle. None of the
ships match anything they have records for, a new species?
The debris is scattered, the larger pieces and the complete
ships that were holed and opened to space, contain tech no
one has seen before. They detect 2 other WH in the system,
but no habitable planets. A massive amount of asteroids,
almost like a planet was destroyed. Knowing their scout was
too small to safely investigate the system, they leave and
report the findings…
True, I’ll work on it when, as always, I have trouble sleeping
and I can focus. During the day I have so much to watch over
I just don’t have “me” time, most of my CAD use is when
everyone else is relaxing or getting ready for bed.
Keeping to the lore and character development is always the
tricky part, I haven’t written anything since I got married heh.

and on the refit Enterprise it was a picture in the rec-room.

Write it up as a short story. Think of it as fanfic. PC’d probably

True, I’ll work on it when, as always, I have trouble sleeping
and I can focus. During the day I have so much to watch over
