All my feelings about Edgar are out the window.
Will they stop at the Hotel California?
Sorry I just had to do that.
So far so good with the diplomatic mission.
Saw my Doc for 24 hour check. The eye is healing well. The Doc
said the 2nd surgery went better than the 1st. If everything is
still doing okay next week (Wednesday) then they’ll schedule me
to be tested for new glasses. Looks like they’re going to be
able to correct me to 20/25. Not perfect but better than they
were. I’ll just be glad to be one with eyedrops 4 times a day.
EXCELLENT, Bill. Take care. Your eye drops may end for a while,
but I think you will need them later. My wife had both eyes done
and now about 20 yrs. later she has to use the drops multiple times
daily, but like she says she can read books etc.
It’s worth it to her.
Great to hear! Yeah, my first was hell, but to be honest,
I had a bad reaction to the tranq they used. puked for
3 days! I told the doc, he changed the one he used and
I had no problems afterwards. Yeah, they did the same
for me, if you’re like me, you’ll need to go in for a checkup
and a new set in about 1-2 years, I just said screw it and
stuck with the readers.
Bill, good to hear.
Paul, your wife may have a different condition.
It involves the surface of the eye.
It has a correlation with aging
(20yrs post cataract surgery).
Also, more prevalent among women then men.
Seems the same here, but considering how many people
have been on that level of “asshole-ness”, it’s not
surprising we were jumping to that assumption. I think
maybe it’s time for California’s government gets a
make-over… Rather an “Empire-over”? (I’m not sorry 😛 )
Eggs-cellent! The talks are already sounding good,
Prima Alpha is impressed with the way the Empire is
making changes to the status quo. I doubt he’ll jump
(pun intended 😉 ) in and join the Empire right away,
but it’s looking pretty good.
I think Prime Alpha has it wrong. The Empire doesn’t impose
anything. If my understanding is correct the Empire will facilitate trade between systems in a manner 180° opposite
from how core worlds do things. If a world does not wish to trade,
nobody is going to force them to do so. I hope Taritha explains
that difference to him. The core’s arrangements always heavily
favor their side. The Empire believes in fair and equitable trade
– not so much because they are so morally superior but because
in the long run treating everyone fairly benefits both sides.
If aliens landed on Earth in RL, offered to clean up our pollution,
and talked about free trade with other aliens, 90% of the population
would panic and assume the very same thing. That’s why these
talks will take a while, The core has shown them the worst, The
empire has to prove otherwise now. I think Marise would make a
decent Envoy for the Prima, having a look around the Empire worlds
like Taritha did for the Romani and so on.

Ah yes, I seen that episode, rather creepy to say the least.
Just wait until they hear about the hunt, I don’t see anyone
in their brown pants this time…
Rule of Acquisition: I was frankly surprised never appeared in the list:
“If you want them to do business with you again, they have to believe
they got a good deal. If you want to do business with them from now
on, it has to really BE a good deal.”
I have a hunch that there will be those in California that
WANT the boy saved, that treating a weaken child like crap
isn’t worth it. perhaps the parent, or someone that knows
the child will help rescue the boy when the time comes.
Utter and complete exhaustion while half-starved is just
as bad a torture as any. And a slow death.
I’m just talking about the handler of the kid and maybe a guard.
Anyone with half a heart could see the poor kid suffering.
Just leaving a door unlocked or giving a distraction to the
guards would help.
Get mean? Nay – brutal. That’s why Teresa gave it to the zoo crew.
Sergeant Squirrel is a psychopath, and Flea is just as psycho. And
their Dragonflies have enough ordinance to probably level the town
and kill everyone in it multiple times over.
IF, i was the PTB, the guards would be hand picked.
single, hates kids, no females. and the entire town
will know, that i would kill half the town if anything
happened to the kid.!
and,, if the kid had any friends or family,. they would
be the first to torture or kill to leverage the kid.

Well, well, well. Methinks we might have been misreading Edgar.

Oops. Screwed up and hit “post” before editing for line length.
Fix it for me, Mr. Stanley? Please?

Capt. Te’gin summed it up nicely,
without mentioning they favor the Empire.
Or that both sides gain militarily
with the agreement.

I’d be looking for a cookbook somewhere, “To Serve Man”.

Taritha could refer them to the Aquataines.

But you know the people who have him aren’t going
to give him up without a fight. I figure it’s going
to have to get “mean” for them to give him up.
The Cat sayeth nothing.
Funny… Neither does mine…

No, I agree, just wishful thinking on my part is all.
hence the “IF”… if you are going to play the bad guy..
