Good to see you back. We want you around for a long time.
I hope you are healthy and not pushing yourself.
You don’t mess with Flea. He’s not short, he’s compact.

Flea is a she and she’s the psycho that they let torture
those 2 guys of the ones they caught raiding that farm,
back when Wakonda was being a pain. She’s looks little
and cute, but there’s no WAY I’d let her hug me!

        Flea was introduced in TGW-755

Thanks, I was going to look it up, but we had a storm blow
through and it trashed my internet, it was like back in the
old days of dialup! Just loading up TGW-700 took 15 mins.

I’d let her if SHE suggested it — and I was pretty sure she liked me.
Little and cute brings out the grandpa in me, psycho or not.

And I’m glad you’re back, PC, but don’t push yourself too hard.
We’d rather have you whole later than the alternative.

Yeah, and that’s the trap part, she’s all cute and innocent,
you go to accept a hug, and then you feel about 4″ of steel
poke your insides from behind… I’d want to really get to
know her and visa-versa before I even consider it.

Never underestimate the little guys, we’re quick and MEAN!
Marise will have plenty to tell her father and the Prima Alpha.

    Hmmm… mother-daughter or big-little sister maybe? They don’t
look like they are part of any group, but I have been wrong
more often than I like 😉

I remember why I stored this keyboard, I have this urge to
start grunting “Ook Okk EEK!” and start bashing keys with
my knuckles! When I press one, it HAS to click or nothing
gets typed, but if I’m off the mark by the tiniest amount…
    double or triple letters!

      August 10, 2023, 06:50 | # | Reply

Is there a setup routine for that keyboard?
Ought to be a way to adjust the key repeat function.

It’s the one that came with the system, the key strokes are intended for rapid
movement, but are too deep for touch-typing. Every key has a micro-switch
rather than a bubble/contact switch. There’s no way to adjust the force required
to activate the micro switches, I tried, trust me. I’ve had a similar issue back
when I had my car accident, I had at the time, an Atari 2600, and I wore out
many controllers, i took one apart and found out I had flattened the bubble
switches in the old controllers, so in order to have one that could handle
marathon game play, I had to find and buy one that used reed switches. I still
have it, and it STILL works!

What I meant by double or triple letters is like “erd” or “ghb”
not “eee” or “ggg” it’s completely mechanical, no way to shorten
the stroke required to activate it. So if I’m off by a bit, I hit 2-3
keys at once since the stroke is twice the depth of a normal
keyboard. So I have to be VERY careful of my aim and proofreading.

I’m sure he couldn’t be bothered to show respect by taking a knee
so he could look Harold in the eye without Harold having to bend
his neck way back. I’m sure he did after that!

Harold looks like just the right size to get into
all the low tunnels & small back-behind spaces
that are built into any and every mechanical space.

Sure, I just need to know where.
I’ll use a stronger, better plastic,
          I wouldn’t do it in PLA, I don’t
think you’d want to look back
there to see a sagging, warped
          mess, it’s melts at 200c (425F),
but softens at 70c (150F) where
PETG melts at 230C and doesn’t
          soften until 100C (212F)

Yeah, I printed a skull for my son with it, damn
thing was a blob when he went to leave for work.
He wailed “MY NEW TRUCK!” heh life happens kid…
I did help clean it off without ripping his dash…

Don’t try printing with PETG unless you have
a powder-coated PEI spring steel bed cover, PETG
sticks TOO well to glass or those soft plastic
magnetic bed covers that Ender loves so much.
And use glue stick, or you’ll have crashed prints.

I’m drying out a black roll right now
I have to replace the fan shroud
on my other printer. PETG sounds
like rice crispies if it’s “wet” and
          prints like crap.

Okay, thanks. Looking at the third photo, up in the top left
corner there’s a square hole for a couple of USB 2.0 ports
which my motherboard doesn’t have. Can you modify the file
            to fill that hole?
There’s lots of cool computer stuff on the 3D printing sites.
What’s the largest dimensions you can print?

            • Scarsdale
              August 11, 2023, 16:00 | # | Reply

220x220x240 on my ender and 220x220x250 on the sovol.
or 8.6×8.6×9.4 inches. I’m hoping to get a larger one
sometime soon, 300x300x350mm, that’s big enough to
              printer bicycle helmets.
I’ll see what I can do with that cover plate, It’s a simple
filler block, but I want to make sure which hole you mean.
The hole next to the old PS/2 port?

Printables is my favorite site to look for stuff, but thingiverse has
the biggest library of print files. Thingiverse search engine sux.
I’ll just have to sit down and try to figure out how to setup a web
page, I’m sure my old one is long gone by now.
That way I can post pics of my work for anyone to see and if they
want to order stuff they’ll be able to find a new email address on it.

Ok I fixed the print file, and sliced it. I got the roll down to 12%
humidity, but I’d like it a bit lower before printing, 10% or less
              is ideal.

I bet it wouldn’t be too hard to build a pair of adjustable stilts for Harold,
hydraulic or magnetic lifts with controls on a belt, so he could reach rows
of controls and displays at human eye level. But I’d sound him out about
it ahead of time rather than surprise him with them. He seems a tad touchy.
But it would be handier and more efficient than making him carry a stool.

The bottom of the silts would need a gav unit built in or the first
time he was fully extended and the ship had to maneuver…

Flea sitting down to greet the newcomers should give them a good
bit of false security, even if they are aware of the others.

    >and you all get along?
    >not always

    But we can work on it :}

    Just an FYI;
Went to the VA a couple of weeks ago and they found
a lymph node that was 16 millimeters in diameter.
The doctor took a biopsy last Monday, but suspects

We should know more by next Wednesday.

GOOD GADS! I forgot what the huge mess it is to get hosting
    for a website.
Too many claim they are “free,” until you get to the hosting
and then the cash register starts in….
    Any suggests?
I don’t mind paying for web hosting, but I don’t want an expensive
provider if my business doesn’t take off. I just went to Hostinger,
it went from $.99 a month to $2.99 from the introduction page
    and the signup page!
