    Ahhhhh…..a test AND a training.

    • Isn’t the old joke,
“Life is the only school where you get the test first,
      and then the lesson?”

    • Sam

After this, Pvt. Kesselring will never skimp on a search again.
Having been reprimanded by the Empress herself, and then
done the search as he was taught, as she instructed him to
(and she was not upset by how invasive he may have needed
to be to do it right), he’ll never be afraid of a future searchee,
since he’s already successfully searched the highest ranking
      person there is.

  2. Wow, that’s a mane of hair! At least she was quick to read
the room, etc. Downside of that hair is she can be spotted
a half a mile away! Miller was so busy geeking out he forgot
    the basics.

Pity she had to jump him to get him to do it right, I get it, and
the FAA has the same rules, you are NOT groping the woman,
you are protecting a sensitive area and the people there in.
Only the clueless and the “woke” bunch go that way. Or like
the woman I heard about trying to sneak a stun gun in her
bra and had the nerve to complain that she got groped and
    arrested… Here’s your sign… “Karen”.

    • The Elizabethans used to say that a woman’s
hair was her crowning glory, and I think this
character is a clear example of why!

      • Her husband likes to run his
        fingers through her hair.
        Up to his armpits.

    • I used to know a woman who liked to carry ben-wa balls where you
would expect when she boarded a plane, because she liked how
they felt during takeoff. Of course, that was before 9/11. If the area
is that sensitive and you have to be that careful, I don’t see how
anything short of a complete strip-and-cavity search would suffice,
with the old clothes confiscated and new ones issued. And even then…
suppose you were lucky enough to be bonded to a dragonfly and got
them to excrete just a little of that nerve poison, which you then
used to coat the underside of your fingernails…

      • That’s a tricky thing to do,
just picture you forgetting and scratching yourself…
Only way you could do that (unless you’re planning
on killing someone) is to wear gloves.
I had bought a set of those for my wife when we were
        together before we married,
she suddenly LIKED the way I drove my Camaro… heheh…
OW damn hunny where did you come from?!?
        Is my brain leaking? 😛

    • Kiddeagle

ANY one else thinking a young hot Peggy Bundy.
or do I got more to discuss with my therapist?

      • I haven’t given either of them first names yet,
        have I?
        Heh-heh. Thanks.

  3. aw shoot, triggered the filter again.

  4. This is a plea to anyone who follows “The Gentle Wolf” but who isn’t
following the link to Top Web Comics and voting. I don’t know what’s
going on at TWC but TGW is down to #20! Suddenly there are a
crap ton of comics in the top 10 I’ve never seen before. Plus, all
the top 10 are north of 1,000 while TGW is sitting at ~150.
I’m begging any of my fellow readers to PLEASE follow the
link at the top of the page here and vote for TGW at TWC.
I KNOW Petercat will appreciate you doing so!

    • Lancer rarely updates more than once every couple of months.
Vixen logic usually updates once a week or so.
Kawaii Kissu is behind a pay wall.
Girl Genius updates on the same schedule as The Gentle Wolf.
Insignificant Otter hasn’t updated since January,
the same is true of Outsider.
And a number of the Top 10 are either old or I’ve never heard of.
      So yeah, something’s going on.

      • I’ve noticed that when TGW was in the top 10 they followed the
24 hr voting time frame, now I’ve voted at 9am AND 10 pm, hmmm…
Comic like “Spying with Lana” rarely if ever update,
“Kiwi” hasn’t updated in 2 years. But they still get “votes”.
Tub T could you please break up your sentences like the rest?
They are hard to read when it runs off the side of the page.
More so for tablets and cell phones, Rob and PC can fix that,
but it’s easier if you do it.

        • Just for example, Tales from Alderwood always seemed
to end every month 500 or more votes behind TGW.
At the end of last month, it ended 5000 votes ahead!
Something hinky is definitely going on.
Too many new comics have suddenly appeared in the
top ranks in just one month.

        • Ah, sorry. All the comments, no matter how long, are all
quite legible on my screen. I had seen a mention of inserting
breaks, but mine look just like everyone else’s on my screen.

          • That could very well be because Mr. Stanley kindly
edits them down for readability. Sometimes I screw
up and forget to chop line lengths down and If I
put a note up he is very good about fixing it.

          • as i said before. i edit format,.
NOT content. and gross spelling errors,,
            simple ones when asked..

format: way back when, people on phones
were having a hard time reading large
text paragraphs. also the oops in spelling.
since i had the means, i volunteered.

        • Sam

I think somehow it varies. One day last week I voted, then checked a
few other comics and voted for them (never anything above TGW).
Less than 12 hours later I came back to TGW, read the comments,
and since the easiest way to get to other comics is by way of the link
at the top of TGW, clicked on the Vote button. And, it took my vote.
That was last week. This week, it’s holding me to a once-in-24-hours
          vote pattern.

    • Well I just checked and TGW is now at 18th place with ~250 votes.
But 18th sucks compared to anywhere in the top 10.
I always vote twice in the morning.
Once anonymously and once logged in.

      • i also find it curious that the top 9 are all
within 200 points of each other,
In my memory, that has never happened before.
In fact, 11-20 look a lot like 1-10 has always looked like,
        with a few exceptions.
It’s almost as if someone at TWC said,
“Hey, let’s give these random comics 1500 votes each!

        • Sam

It’s 11:34pm, wet coast time, 5/2, and even knocking 1500 off
of #1 leaves it 70 votes ahead of TGW. And that comic hasn’t
been updated in a month, and is usually on page three,
          when TWC isn’t screwing around.

I can, kinda, sorta, understand TWC moving some less popular
comics to the top ten, to get them front page exposure.
But, on the next to the last day of the month, in all fairness
(such as they will allow), take away all those instant votes
they added on the first day of the month, so the ending stats
reflect reality. Also, make sure the comics they “hightlight”
this way are actually active comics. And mix them up.

          • ok,, go an look at those ‘inactive’ comics,.
most, not all,, have adds, soo.
it is in their interest to keep them high
enough to have the adds seen…

    • Curtis

I have my favorites and usually vote for them everyday,
whether they update that day or not.
A link from a vote choice that leads nowhere is
      even more annoying then
one that has not updated in a while.

  5. I think that TWC got tired of the Old Breed (us) not buying ads,
so they decided to teach us a lesson.
After all, we didn’t need to buy ads when we were in the top 10,
    did we?
None of the old top 10 are there now.

    • Even though I vote for the comics I follow,
I realize TWC is not what it could be.
      Occasionally click something in the
“recommended” group under a completed vote,
as often as not it leads to site that has
      not updated in months :{

  6. During WWII, the British Indian Army planned to drop a company
of the toughest Gurkhas behind Japanese lines to help stop the
oncoming invaders. A British Major explained the plan to the
Gurkha Sergeant Major, saying: “We’ll drop you from 600 feet.”

The Sergeant Major talked to his troops, then went back to the major:
“Sah, the men say 600 feet too high. They want to be dropped lower.”
The British major said: “All right, Sergeant Major,
    we’ll make it 500 feet.”

The Sergeant Major spoke to his troops again, and again went
back to the major: “Sah, the men say 500 feet is still too
high and want to be dropped lower.” The Major said:
“Sergeant Major, we could go down to 400 feet to drop you but
that wouldn’t leave enough time for the parachutes to open.”

The Sergeant Major replies: “Wait, we get parachutes?”

    • From what I’ve read Gurkhas are some mondo bad-ass dudes!
I would not cross one. Of course I would not cross a Seal
or Spetznaz and I especially would not cross an ISF
      (Israeli Special Forces troops).
I’ve hear them boys won’t kill you until you ask them to
      NICELY!

      • I have a friend who was serving in Afghanistan when a small
contingent of Gurkha were stationed there temporarily.
The idiots at the incoming checkpoint confiscated their kukris.
He was so outraged he went to the commissary and bought
the best knives he could get, big K-bars,
        and offered them to them.
They demurred until he told them about Jim Bowie and how
this style of knife was as important to his culture as
        the kukri was to theirs,
and he wanted to make up for what had been done to them.
They were still wearing them, openly, when they shipped out.

        • The more I think about it, was probably Iraq not Afghanistan.

  7. Petercat, a suggestion for an arc. How about some strips including Felah’s baby? Perhaps combining it with the birth of Miral’s baby?
